He is right about every single thing. And can personally confirm what he says about energy prices in Germany that are indeed the highest in Europe and threatening businesses and households alike. These young spoiled and entitled students have no idea what it means to struggle financially, let alone physically because you lack the basic amenities that they consider a matter of course. They are hearing his words, but aren´t really listening. Their mindsets are programmed, it is sad to witness. Yes, we shouldn´t prioritize economy over ecology, we need to find ways to cater for both. But what the green alarmists are doing is catering for neither. They willingly destroy the economic base that we live on while accomplishing nothing for the environment. Not only do the not save it or improve the environment in any way, in fact what they´re suggesting will only make things worse. The concept of replacing conventional power plants (based on fossil fuels) by renewable energy is one such misconception, and replacing conventional cars with e-cars is another. Benny Peiser is a very accomplished academic, he has a lot of merit in various fields, he knows what he´s talking about.
Vanessa S he is wrong about most things. just say no to taxing the poor and rationing instead. the problem isn't the greens it is the liberal consumerism that transfers all wealth to the rich. this transfer has occurred equally in countries with no green policies, late stage capitalism. "infinite growth is fairytale."
@@jthadcast He IS right about his criticism. I cannot find anything in his speech that is disputable. Of course, the underlying problem is consumerism and the capitalists´ endless thirst for more wealth. The climate change-narrative is just another tool for the richt to channel more money into their accounts, by taxing the general public, by selling CO2-certificates to businesses, by controlling and steering consumers´ behaviour. You´re absolutely right about that. I cannot understand, however, how you can rightly call out the liberals and not see that the greens are an integral part of their globalist strategy. The greens aren´t the only tool of the rich to further their agenda, but they´re definitely part of problem, not of the solution. The green aren´t green.
@@vanessas2454 every movement is a tool of the rich when the wealthy are given free reign to rewrite the rules to suit them. poor people don't freeze because of carbon credits they freeze because elites subsidize corporate profits with carbon credits instead of nationalizing them to support the people most affected. that's not a green issue but an elite one. when the climate goes pearshaped what good is your economy then? it's like giving a person a loaf of bread as you evict him from his home.
@@jthadcast The problem is that people are buying into the climate change narrative. Of course it´s not the core of the problem, but it´s still right to call it out as fake. Doesn´t mean he´s not aware of a much larger problem, but you need to start somewhere. When you walk into an auditorium full of very privileged students like there and start talking about the elites subsidizing corporate profits with carbon credits, those students would call you a conspiracy theorist. With every person waking up to what´s really happening in the world, there is always some issue that gets questioned first, leading to doubts, and then more in-depth research, and then the realisation it´s all been a lie. And then you go on researching and find more and more of those lies, and you start seeing patterns, and then it starts making sense because you start seeing the bigger picture and how it´s all connected. It´s a process, but it never starts with the big picture. For someone believing in democracy and free markets (a contradiction in itself...), it is easier to accept to be wrong about some issue, than to suddenly question the whole system altogether, because that means to question your believe system, and that´s close to impossible for most people.
It's nice to hear someone speak up about E-cars. I live in Rural England and the prospect of an all electric private transport industry is hugely depressing. Not only would it suck the fun out of life but it would also disconnect me from many services and family that are spread far apart as well as limiting my work options, which locally, thanks to EU no-growing payments and housing developments springing up everywhere, are next to none locally. Petrol Cars can be made more efficient while maintaining the fire and fury (And manual gears :D) that makes them so fun when you bounce along a country road or go to a race track. Regenerative braking returns otherwise wasted force as free energy to keep the car going, turbo chargers take otherwise wasted exhaust gasses and turn them into more energy, even heating them more so they are better cleaned by the converters. These can all also provide extra power for spirited driving, I believe it's important not to be guilted out of enjoying life as living and loving life are as important to health as breathing. bio-ethanol petrol supplements creates cooler running, better knock mitigation and greatly increases the remaining life time of the none renewable fuels without removing the high density of energy or the joy of combustion. I currently drive a 2.0L turbo charged hot hatch that on the road commuting gets around 48MPG and on the track or bouncing along country roads gets 38 Smiles per Mile and this is without the use of a parasitic extra engine, aka hybrid car, and this is with the increasing use of renewable fuels such as bio-ethanol supplementing my fuel without taking a lot away from it. (E25 with plans to add E85 support for a corn fed fun car) Fossil fuel will run out one day sure, but the technological advancements it's providing us now will lead to synthesis of high density energy fuels, it will lead to energy production requiring less and less fuel input, if we crack the fusion problem our powerplants will be so effective that they can power chemical synthesis and a country. It's also important to remember that the earth is a closed loop system, all the carbon in the ground is the result of life and has been locked out of the life cycle, while we certainly need to be careful with how many compounds we pump out that can't be used by life or don't break down in the atmosphere, we need to stop demonising carbon and start realising that it's a step to a greener, more sustainable future. (Greener as in more trees, more food crops, more farming, more life) If we follow the green agenda and "carbonise" The western countries under the EU/UN thumb, we will lose medicine, power, heating, progress, the joys of life such as holidays, recreational hobbies, driving, we will lose waterproof clothes and affordable furnishings. I want to bring my children up in a world where they have what they need to tackle their own problems as I am tackling mine, I don't want to live for their problems that I can't possibly know for sure and I don't want them to live in a world where all they're allowed to do is exist and would likely die young due to the lack of infrastructure... That is if they don't bankrupt me by breathing too much under the green regime.
Because it was hilarious, the suggestion that we should encourage global warming because "people die in the cold." He didn't intend it as a joke, but it reads as a joke. There's little other reaction a rational human being with a sense of humor could have to his outlandish nonsense.
@HeroofTime55 sorry but it ain’t hilarious at all, you just don’t listen to the words, he is saying why they die of the cold. If parent’s can’t pay the energy bill because of the costs, and have too choose of not longer spoil the brats. The brats won’t laugh anymore, if parents would choose too spoil the brats. And therefore have too live on the streets, they won’t laugh also not anymore. One way of another, they won’t smile anymore. They don’t think ahead, and are only concerned about their present state.
Manuel Popp you clearly missed the point he was making, this is a global issue. And he is right what he said, if parents can’t pay the energybill. In the Winter when it is freezing on some parts of the world people will die from the COLD in their houses. I don’t know which part of the world you are living and even if you have winters that are harse. But you should try it out and see if you would survive, in the house if you can’t heat the house if you it is freezing minus 20. And no matter what humans try, we have no influence on it. Even if we would abolish everything nowadays in our digital world Without fossil fuel. We can’t keep on replacing oil or gas with wood, there won’t be enough forrests. Too many people are depending on electricity, the only thing to replace it is nuclear or fusion. Besides wind and solar is only 2% of all the energy the rest is Oil, gas or so called Biomass (Wood). And you know what, the youth could not survive without electricity, that would disrupt their lives. No Phones, Computers, and even fastfood would disappear faster than you think. The Climate Change solutions as it is right now, solves nothing. It is only redistributing money and work, it is all about economics and nothing else. And destroying the environment alot more, and ultimately life for everyone is getting more expensive.
@@GrandMaster1961 oh, an uneducated fool. The only sensible thing you said is that we need nuclear. This is accurate. @Content Corrector How on Earth would implementing green technology in order to limit the amount of greenhouses gases kill as many people? The discussion is about replacing dirty fuels as power sources, not getting rid of all devices that need power! Peoples will be forced to migrate from lands that will no longer be able to sustain agriculture therefore the potential for strife will be huge. Why? because of global heating! Wake up! We had 3 solar energy panel quotes for our home in Arizona. The monthly payment is $238 for 25 years. That’s $71,000. The cost to install is 30k and the solar company gets a 25k refund from the government. Our electricity bill for Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb is usually less then $100. October and March are under $200. April and September are under $300. So basically your saving a few hundred dollars a year. But wait there is MORE!! If you use energy that exceeds the use of an air conditioning unit then there is an excessive energy use charge of $125 and the electric company can shut off your appliances to lower your use through the solar equipment installed. Could be your water heater, washing machine or air conditioning unit. Imagine having no air conditioning in the middle of Summer 115 degrees outside in July because you exceeded your usuage between 1pm-8pm. America has just had a very severe winter with temperatures plummeting to -30c and more. An effect of this is all the wind turbines were frozen and so generated nothing. Solar panels were covered in ice and snow and also generated nothing. They are not much use with a low winter sun anyway. Also, hydro electric plants were also out of action because the rivers were frozen. America had to rely on conventional and nuclear power plants of which they have vast capacity.
(E25 with plans to add E85 support for a corn fed fun car)
Fossil fuel will run out one day sure, but the technological advancements it's providing us now will lead to synthesis of high density energy fuels, it will lead to energy production requiring less and less fuel input, if we crack the fusion problem our powerplants will be so effective that they can power chemical synthesis and a country.
(Greener as in more trees, more food crops, more farming, more life)
If we follow the green agenda and "carbonise" The western countries under the EU/UN thumb, we will lose medicine, power, heating, progress, the joys of life such as holidays, recreational hobbies, driving, we will lose waterproof clothes and affordable furnishings.
How sweet it is to hear Dr. Peiser instructing these beknighted young Greens on the way energy reality REALLY works!
He speaks of millions dying from cold and the spoiled brats smile and laugh. Shameful
But renewables (wind/solar/hydro/geothermal) in combination with nuclear are what we need.

@Content Corrector The effects of climate change will impact mostly on the poor. Scarcity of food and health risks will be a factor. Disease rates are expected to rise. A World Bank report has estimated that a small rise in global temperature could well increase the number of people at risk from malaria by up to 5 percent or more. Diarrhea would be more prevalent and increased water scarcity would have an effect on water quality and hygiene, and so on.
www.nationalgeographic.com/news/2015/12/151201-datapoints-climate-change-poverty-agriculture/ What you think of students is irrelevant; at least they seem to be more aware of what climate change actually means.
@Content Corrector How on Earth would implementing green technology in order to limit the amount of greenhouses gases kill as many people? The discussion is about replacing dirty fuels as power sources, not getting rid of all devices that need power! Earlier this year the Pentagon released a report on the security problems linked to a warming world in which it recognised the potential for conflict that will come with a warmed-world scenario. Peoples will be forced to migrate from lands that will no longer be able to sustain agriculture therefore the potential for strife will be huge. Why? because of global heating! Wake up!
And these personal attacks on the students are childish. We all live in a world where every manufactured device is made using dirty energy - which is precisely the reason why we need to begin the switch to renewables as soon as possible. I'm using a computer made, partly, from plastic. Perhaps I should try and make my own from wood? Would that satisfy your spurious morality? We exhale about 40,000ppm CO2. You can sit in a classroom and be at 1,700ppm to2,000ppm. The most fertile epochs in history had 7,000ppm CO2 and more.
Um, yeah that might be true if we had enough TREES to utilise the CO2! You can't count agricultural plants in that scenario either. We need to stop all deforestation globally and cap reproduction to no more than two children per couple. There will always be enough carbon from the air we breathe out. No need to add it artificially.
@@retrolongboarderNZ I believe that all first world countries are at 2 children or less. This provides for a shrinking population.
Education and economic stability is what causes people to have less children. With a stronger emphasis on economic stability. If your only hope to be taken care of in your old age is your children then you will tend to have many children.
Do you think they would shut of the electricity to the governors house? Government buildings or our congress?? No! But the will to everyone else.
This is true. In the UK energy bills have increased by about 30% to pay for this next to useless 'green' (actually red!) technologies. More than 3000 people a year now die of hypothermia every winter not because it is cold outside but because it is cold inside. They have central heating but can't afford to switch it on! Universities no longer seem to be places of learning these days and now seem to be left wing indoctrination centres.
Excellent points.
