The final version of The Jeffrey PCB 2.0 is now available! www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/iSpindel_The_Jeffrey_2_0___Open_Source_Distilling.html
I flashed mine but might be struggling connecting it to my wifi network. I selected the wifi network and entered the password, but when I hit save, it rebooted and I saw it pop on my wifi for a split second and then disconnect. I see no other LED's or signs of life, but it's still in the ON position? Is this expected, that it does not keep a constant connection to the wifi network to save power or something ?
@@p.chuckmoralesesquire3965 The only way to keep the iSpindel constantly on is when it's in configuration mode. When running normally it's in sleep mode and turns on to quickly send data and then quickly turns itself back off again to save power. If your interval is set up for 900 seconds/15 mins your iSpindel will only be on for a few seconds per hour to send data. This is how it saves battery power :) When sending data the LED should blink for a second.
Thank you. Got an iSpindel. Used your video of how to do firmware. All set & ready to go for your next video/step. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. New iSpindel video coming out today :)
Nice! you always make complicated task sound so easy!! thank you! (great to see that the Tosna Calculator made it in your bookmark bar!!! :-D )
Thanks! Look forward to using that calculator in the future! Cheers Ben!!!
Had to hit bell icon again. Was not getting notified about new videos.
Holy crap! Nice tutorial. Looking forward to a run and play video!
Best azeotrope my friend! Hope all is well through the holidays!
Good to have you back BigEdsGuns! I'm running low on vodka so it's just about time to do another spirit run. Cheers!!!
Great stuff, thanks for taking the time to do such a thorough job. Looking forward to the calibration video.
Thanks! The iSpindels are sitting in fermenting sugar wash right now :) I tried out the easy calibration method first but had mixed results. I've been collecting calibration data and trying out different things so stay tuned :)
Great video thanks for posting
Thanks for watching!
Wow Wow the cowboy Pow-Pow-Pwo lol! That's awesome You definitely brought that to the next level, TILT are going bankrupt. I'm having hard time to source out all the parts. I strongly believe this video will be bring you more viewers in the long run. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man! Hope all is well. There are links on my blog to the parts I used but I don't know if they are good for where you live.
Just built my first Ispindel. When is the next video coming out. Im ready. =0)
It's coming! Stay tuned :)
@@OpenSourceDistilling Any ETA on the calibration video??? No Pressure! (PRESSURE!!!!) :D
@@jwade8080 Offset calibration video is being edited as I type. We'll then do 25 degrees in water calibration video, then gravity readings to tilt calibration video, and finally the battery voltage calibration video. I also have iSpindel PCB prototypes I designed coming in the mail tomorrow from PCBway. I'm back from a break so you'll see more videos coming out. Cheers!
@@jwade8080 Thanks for using that link and supporting the channel I appreciate it!
These videos are great! I am running into an issue with mine that I am setting up. You touched on it at the end mine is not saving the name or the temperature F when changed and when I go back in to verify it’s just gone. Any recommendations on places I can look?
Have you tried the suggestion at the bottom of this blog post? www.opensourcedistilling.com/ispindel-firmware-flash/
I did, multiple times
If I flash the D1 mini with new firmware before assembling the iSpindel, should the iSpindel WiFi be available or not?
I haven't tried flashing yet before assembly so I'm not sure.
After flashing I can not find the ispindel on the wifi. Any suggestion?
ma questa procedura vale anche se la fai con il MAC ?
I'm not sure if the flasher works on a MAC. I don't have one. Let me know if you find out.
I followed the flashing process. I got a green checkmark almost instantly when I hit the flash button. I tried it with two Ispindels and never got the blue loading bar that you did. I also am unable to locate an open ispindel wifi network with either one. I am assuming something went wrong with initial flashing process but don't know where to go from here.
Do you have a data USB cable that will plug into the D1 mini? Running a serial monitor will tell you if the firmware flashed or not. Are you able to test the data cable with a cell phone to determine if it's a data or just a charging cable. Serial monitor walkthrough www.opensourcedistilling.com/serial-monitor-log-for-ispindel/
@@OpenSourceDistilling I will have to check what type of chord I am using. I know my desktop read that a usb was plugged in but it did not state that an external device was connected. I will follow this process and send an update. Thank you for responding 🍻
Had the same problem, make sure to check the little checkmark on the config tab next to file path
I saw somewhere that you can flash the D1 mini before you build (still waiting on parts) but when I plug the D1 mini in, the flasher does not recognize the com port. Any suggestions? TIA P.S. I've tried three different cables. How do you know if you have a data cable.
Follow the link below. How far can you get? There is a video included in my blog post :)
