Jenny, you’re amazing!! Folks, VIP member here, HIGHLY recommend joining when you can because as a newbie to Etsy myself this group of awesome wreath makers and a teacher like Jenny has made a huge difference in how I approach every aspect of my business. Don’t second guess it, just join!! …I will add regarding the wreath pics and bad weather, I actually purchased a dual set of LED studio lighting from Amazon, spent $35 on them I think, and setup a “photo booth” in my shop. Nothing beats natural lighting, of course. But having a space for solely photos helps when the weather delays my pics outside, therefore delaying a new listing when I’m too excited and need to post it now! It’s my go-to plan B when the indecisive GA weather doesn’t work well with my timeline. Just a thought shared as I would with the VIP group! Seriously, gotta join when it opens! 🥰
Yaaaay, thank you so much for answering my question and for all the helpful information you shared with us! ❤️ I love your wreaths and I learn so much from you every time. You have such a sunny personality, watching your videos brightens up my day. ❤️
Great video in progress, sweet Jenny! You are a wealth (or "wreath" 😘) of knowledge. Thank you for educating everyone in the business of Etsy. I make jewelry and would love to set up an shop on Etsy. I am trying to learn from you and your experience! Getting a CPA is very wise and offers you protection from the IRS! You have become someone we call "Beauty and Brains"! Blessings always, precious Jenny. ✝️🙏💫❤⚘😘
@@JennysWreathBoutique I am trying to learn what I can so I can earn enough money to pay the property taxes on the home my precious mother left me. 🙏🙏 Blessings to you and all you do to encourage people to try something on their own.⚘❤⚘❤⚘❤
Yay! Thank you for answering my question! All the info was very informative and helpful. Thanks for always being so transparent and sharing your journey with others.
I’m not really sure. There are some UK wreath makers inside my VIP group that have shared that information with each other, though. My wholesale companies will ship there, but with pretty high order minimums and high freight costs.
thank you so much for answering my question about the grapevine bases with the fat twigs. I thought I was doing a good thing by ordering the big box of 15...but maybe I shouldn't do that next time I have to order bases. haha thank you again for all your help. :)
Thank you for answering my question!!! Also, in forum they say Etsy doesn’t release funds from payment reserve for 45 days…mine was released right after I dropped it at post office….with tracking…just like they said they would…sooo there’s another reason to stay out of forums!!!
You can’t see the actual numbers and if they’re actual abandoned carts or people who just haven’t checked out yet, but if you go to your shop like a customer, you can see “3 people have this in their cart” or whatever the number is. If you see that number not change or go up without the wreath being sold, I assume most of those are abandoned carts. Obviously the more popular wreaths will have a higher number there naturally, but that number gives me an idea of abandoned cart trends in my shop.
what is your secret for making great pictures ? I always think my wreaths look way better in person. I use my iPhone to take the picture and it just doesn't do the wreath justice.
I use my iPhone too! I made a video showing you EXACTLY what I do. I’ve changed my editing a tiny bit since making this, but it’s still basically the same. I hope this helps! ruclips.net/video/zIyUJutz748/видео.html
Does etsy automatically take out all of the taxes or is it like youtube where you have to do it yourself? Hopefully will have my easy shop started soon and just want to know what I'm getting into. Ive seen some people say that when you put you shop in vacation mode it can hurt you shop but I go to week long camps where I'm not allowed to have any devices and I'm wondering if its worth it to put it in vacation mode when that time comes? Also during those camps that i won't be able to be on my phone or laptop what can i do about not being able to answer people who want to message me about my product?
Etsy remits sales tax for you for most states, but you’re responsible for your income taxes both federal and state. As far as when you’re gone at camps, you can set up an auto responder. Also I have a video here on RUclips that goes more in-depth about vacation mode if you want to check that out. I share my thoughts and what I personally do, and how to get your shop going again if you do go on vacation mode. I hope that helps!
@@JennysWreathBoutique thank you so much i will defiantly check it out! I just have one more question. When you start you shop up at first is it a smart idea to price your items a bit on the lower side just till sales go up?
It really doesn’t change anything. We’ve always had to report our income, whether or not we get a 1099. I think it only affects people who have been avoiding paying taxes when they were legally supposed to. I’m not a fan of it at all. It’s just more of a huge undertaking for the businesses hosting the online sellers. Hopefully it doesn’t amount to higher fees for sellers because of the increased regulations on businesses.
Taxes are a pain but necessary. I hear taxes are going to be 30% on amything over $600 sales. That's just insane. I feel Etsy will hike their fees too....everyone else has, and inflation is high. 😥 .

Will you share links to shipping boxes you use from Amazon?
I have some links in my “how to ship a wreath” video here on RUclips :)
Where would be the best places in the uk to buy greenary xx

What glue do you use?
I’ve linked it in the description of this video 😊. here it is amzn.to/32im4tS
Do you ever lower your prices if you don’t sell ?
I’ll occasionally run sales, but not very often.
Thank you, Jenny! Very informative and helpful. One more question: Do you need a business license to open an Etsy shop?
Great question! No you don’t 😊
Hi Jenny Thanks for the video
Hi Kim! Thanks for watching 😊
Missed the live show:( Do you ever use bicycle wheel forms for wreaths? Am headed that way:)
I haven’t used one, no. It’s not really my style, but I may make one one day. Who knows 🤷🏻♀️
Wait wait, how can we see abandoned cart on Etsy ?

Hi Jenny, how are you going to handle Bidens new tax rule for on line sellers?
