Just epic. Lost another great ... RIP, Kim, and thanks for all your wonderful music.
Discovered this band around 69 or 70 and have been a fan since
RIP Mr Simmonds. Thanks for the music, the lessons and the inspiration.
One of the short list of best guitar players ever, Simmonds could do blues and boogie like no one else.
Kim rocked, and still does wherever in heaven he is! RIP brother.
So glad he’s still working....a living giant and legend....and I think he sings just fine 🤗 ....great blues vocabulary with his own spin....ya gotta love it 👍🏻
No doubt
RIP man! A major loss for us all.
Master blues player Kim Simmonds, lost in the same January wave of grayness with fellow greats Jeff Beck and David Crosby. First saw him at the Fillmore East with Savoy Brown (Chris Youlden edition) when he and I were both teenagers!
KIM SIMMONS,WILL ALWAYS BE ONE MY FAVORITE GUITARIST.HE JUST SO GOOD,PURE MUSICIANSHIP.😎🎸🎶🔊☮️ BOB.
Thank you for all the great music Kim Simmonds, RIP
One of the baddest blues players of all time!
The only thing better than a good long fast guitar Jam, is a good long slow guitar Jam. This is as good as it gets
❤️ always a great ..just kickin it
I've always loved savoy brown
RIP Kim.. been a long time...
Kim is an Awesome guitarist and he can throw darts like a pro! watched their sound check one night before a gig in Co. Sprgs. CO. in 93. Helluva gentleman! started chatting with him 'bout the blues-next thing-we were tossing darts n drinkin beer n talkin more about music & life! An evening I'll never forget
Hell yeah, hope he comes back to CO soon.
+Nathan Parks One BadAss guitarist
Robbie Russo, sounds like u had one great night. Yeah Kim is awesome. I've been trying to mock a song of his poor girl, and was stumped the way he played it. So I emailed him through FB and he wrote back about 2 weeks later with my answer. I was shocked...thank you Kim Simmons u made my day... Robbie thanks for sharing cool man
Melding in the moment - the essence of Rock 'n Roll Blues, nice!
Incredible quitarist with his own style! Kim Simmonds is one school alone.
..what have I just watched, absolutely awesome..!!
Kim is one of the very best , unique soulful and jest ragged enough to be all on his own.
I had the amazing privilege to open for Savoy Brown in Rochester, NY this past year... Each of them gentleman and amazing musicians. Very gracious fellows willing to spin quick yarn - Kim was especially grateful while I picked his brain back stage about playing blues and guitar tones and inspirations. It was fantastic as was the band's performance. Make sure and catch these guys live if they come to your area. 50 years at the game informs your playing to a crowd immensely. ;-)
Kim, Alvin,Rory,Johnny, pure blues rock!
I'm in Heaven .......Thanks for the flash back!
THAT'S RIGHT I WANT TO SAY RIGHT NOW AT 6:15 PM IN A PACIFIC ZONE,

I’m sad to say I’m just now getting into Mick Taylor, Ten Years After and Savoy Brown.
Feels like I just struck gold!!!
Better try some Johnny Winter and Rory Gallagher with that Ten Years After and you'll be all set
@@garyschweim1395 DUANE ALLMAN & GARY MOORE & ELVIN BISHOP
That gold mine is a LOT deeper than you imagine. Enjoy like we did.
Mr. Hopper, peace, and used to sit in a lawn chair in the late 70's on Sunday listening to Savoy 'takin it easy'.... it helps to look back, But just don't stare. ... the"scene" was good. But because the "Stream of Time " just keeps movin along into the future, we bring Savoy with us 😛 and it help us to help others, so thankful you posted this memory👍👋✌
Make sure to check out Roy Gallagher also.
Saw this group in salisbury? in the late sixties-early seventies. Never forgotten them, especially Kim.
One amazing artist, producer, musician, performer, and father of my former friends.
Kim SImmonds - is this guy the best blues- guitar feeling guy ever! I guess I'm biased having followed Savoy Brown from college days. Good sense of humour too. And Album covers. That's vinyl for you youngsters.
Oh those Blues keep comin' thru...for U&I
Love it Kim you got some soul!!!
andy thomas i guess haters gotta hate, this is quality playing from one of the best who ever strapped on a guitar.

One of the best slow rock bands in the world
SAVOY BROWN
Thanks for posting this. I've always thought Savoy Brown were underrated and overlooked as a group and this proves KS is up there with the very best of them.
I totally agree that Savoy Brown has always been underrated. When I heard the songs on the Street Corner Talking album, I was 11 and by 12 I was playing guitar. Much of that inspiration came from Savoy Brown, Santana, Clapton and Hendrix. Kim Simmons really rocks. Way back when Street Corner Talking came out, he was a great blues player, give another listen to "all I can do is cry." That song turned me on to wanting to play and not just listen. Sadly, In my eyes, I am still a failure but it has been a fun time faking it. I think guitarists always feel that they can still improve, That is the challenge, to always grow. Seeing this video helps me focus more because seeing one of my inspirations shows me that I still have so much to learn.
I am ale b. shreds truckee of hollywood...on this att fone... comments..that music is ongoing in history..as trip school is being launched to find concert promotor to put on tripoly festival at paramount ranch in malibu..santa monica mnt. area...2024..for all bands not on mtv ever to be ongoing next generation of signed artist.. should be right and approved.
Right on Kim
I've Followed Savoy Brown since My friends mother who was a booking agent in Cleveland brought them in for a series of concerts at local venues . It might have been their first time in the states since Chris Youlden was still with them. I'm not sure of the year. But we drove around with the equipment VAN mind you only a van and roadied the local events they played at! I was in high school and I remember the road maneger Telling us young kids about road Food and tasting our first "Whoppers" at burger King .At those times bands played at a minium expense and my friends mom got us to roadie for nothing ! LOL But we lived for the music we had acess to so many albums no one even knew of! like Savoy Browns first that ihave heard "Getting to the point" KIm simmonds has always been an under rated guitar player. His Pharsing sic is unique
That must have been an awesome experience.
savoy brown was one of the best bands ever.
Kim Simmonds, Tony McPhee, Mick Abrahams... the unsung Brit blues-rock guys.
Just caught your comment. Thanks, Andy, and I think it's very cool that you were able to catch some of the greats. I'm rather envious, I must admit.
Yes- I'm so fortunate to have bee 16 yrs old and able to sit in a pub blues club just fifteen foot from Savoy Brown, Taste, Blodwyn Pig, Black Sabbath, Colosseum... what a privilege!
@@alanelliott2622 man your so lucky. I’m 65 been listening to savoy brown since 69, Black Sabbath since the beginning all greats. Kim just keeps on rocking. Street corner talkin . Later
Totally agree with you. Also the Great Peter Green, Mick Bloomfield, Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower, Jorma Kaukonen, John Cipollina, etc etc. Greetings Dr. Benton. ✌️
Stan Webb
My Home Town, I was there, awesome show. Meet Kim afterwards, got a picture of Kim and my son together.
Slow hard blues just like I love it~~~
What fabulous to c the Savoy was inducted into the R & R hall of fame in 2017. Wish I would have been there. One of the best to pick up a guitbox period. ✌️
Top shelf blues!

He is alive !!!
Always asome Kim and Savoy Brown!!!!
Thanks for posting this!!!!
Great guitarist in very deep blues song..... thx mate
Great blues jam.
As far as i recognize Savon Brown existed in 1973;
I habe an inner sleeve of UFO's "UFO II" record, on which there is an icon of "Savoy Brown".
totally missed and underrated English player, his name should be uttered in the same breath as some of the great English Blues greats from the late '60's
MarshallAmp Man Kim is actually Welsh. He moved to London as an eighteen year old
Dam Straight Up Blues ty ty ty

He played at the Shade Tree in Shreveport Louisiana in the early 80s.....still a phenom on the guitar
Amazing toneage
Beautiful tone. Improvise is advanced playing, what a demonstration of great blues.
AWESOME! Thanks for sharing!
Great playing!
Savoy is da shit man... Love them!
Awesome!!!!! This is what we call music!!!!!! Regards from Greece.
Man this guy's been at it a long time! I remember seeing him at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago back in 68 or 69. A dedicated blues man!
ahhhh blues at it's finest!
Tell me this doesn't rattle your bones....❤
It's so badass it rattles my Teeth.💀
Damn fine guitar work, thanks for posting!
Where does the time go?! Great Southern Music Hall - 1975/1976 ever-present effervescence...Ty -LG
Man what I wouldn't give to be able to play a guitar like this.
i think he is AS GOOD as his contemporaries. There are just certain players that send me..even tho they play the same pentatonic scale. certain guys that..when they pick up a guitar they emit soul. Some of these younger cats..altho proficient..and...fast lack the background that people like Kim have. You can hear in his delivery that he listened to the original blues and rock n roll guys..Chuck..Lightnin Jimmy Reed. So he leaves out enough so he can still paint a masterpeice. God bless you Kim
GRACIAS POR HACERME RECORDAR A SAVOY....... HA SIDO MUY GRATO.
Quality footage !!!
Kim’s always been my favorite.
HAND ME DOWN MY WALKIN SHOES LOVE IT
RIP Kim
Kimmonds got a witness!
Kim is remarkable! Got to see him live at a small venue in Oshawa not that long ago.
us fuckn GREAT
These guys closed the show at the annual Sea-Fest Blues Fest in Clwtr, Fl....It was a great show.......
Great Kim Simmonfs
These cats could make the hellhounds cower and whimper like any mongrel cur will in the presence of omniscient juju. And they probably do, from the sound of this.
An S B fan since 1970, only made one great concert, but wore the grooves (no pun int.) off the 33 1/3 rds. Truly awesome, they are
nice fade in
variation of "Hand Me Down My Cane"...excellent
RIP KIm
The badass himself..........
Very good, Sir!
These guys kick butt.awesome.
you guys have got to have had a big influence on Joe bonamassa,I can see where he gets the blues from, diggin it, great.
Going to see them tonight at Yoshi's in Oakland.
Kim's one of those longtime great guitarists that never got the wide acclaim he deserves. I do wish he didn't sing though. He's had some fine vocalists fronting for him over the years. He likely could find another who can tolerate his long solos.
his SLOW BLUES are impeccable and stand alone at the top
Magnifying Slow Blues!!!
"TOP...MORE...TOP...guitar player...zb music inc haitian label...music power
How the heck did I miss them? I just live down the street. Must have missed the posters. Dang!
Did they do Hell Bound Train?
Awesome
Kim proves with every performance that he is equal to or greater than Green, Clapton, Rory, and Beck.
gdasilva don't get carried away now . he's no Robben Ford
listen to this
