This is a lifesaver. As someone with a particularly sensitive hearing, I would have needed this a decade ago. I am very certain that my right hearing has suffered due to CS / CSGO.
Getting headshot without a helmet is definitely the loudest sound in cs.
It's even louder when you're not expecting it... Oh I remember jumping out of the chair...
Lmao true sometimes is worse than a jump scare
warmup on a map without the 1v1 mini maps, teammate has a negev and fires every bullt onto your head. Probably the most annoying thing in this game ever
@@nexuhs. I remember I jumped hard and droped my coffee in middle of the match game!!
There are a lot of sound settings for csgo
Some are these from my autoexec
dsp_enhance_stereo "0"
snd_front_headphone_position "45.0"
snd_rear_headphone_position "90.0"
snd_headphone_pan_exponent "1.2"
snd_headphone_pan_radial_weight "0.5"
These reduce the overall AK and deagle sound but doesnt change the walking sound.
So you can hear others better while protecting your ears.
I play on 4:3 so some of these are set to use by 4:3 stretched. Check their values before using.
that does work?! :0
But like why do you have to look up for it in the internet instead of valve just putting a slider or something like that in the settings for the issue..
@@itskleb5641 yeah that's a problem with CS. A lot of settings are only changed with config commands or console.
If this worked, kindly up vote this so that maxim can read it too
And also this works in a way that you don't have to lower laptop/pc volume so that you don't hear Intel or walking sounds. So this is just the best way I found
these settings are outdated, and currently they only make the 3D sound of the game worse, trust me, I have already tested these settings a lot in 2015~2016, since the HRTF update no more commands are needed because it will only mess up the sound
@@GabriaTz give best Cs sound settings ser
I was really worried it would be a frequency tuning thing that would make it easier to hear over it, but the fact that it mutes the game audio is good. Makes it a bit more accessible, while not giving a competitive advantage
Nice video, thanks maxim.
my ears will thank you
the only one i have a problem with is when you die to a hs, its unnecessarily loud
What a coincidence, played my first game since a year yesterday and was surprised by the volume of effects.
Things like this being as popular as they are should show valve that CSGO needs accessibility options for the game, it might be a bit op but having a system for hearing impaired people is absolutely necessary.
I've been playing the game so long that I barely notice the flash sound or bomb explosions anymore. Still, I can see why some people might want this program.
You should be worried
@@infeel5406 I'm not. I don't have my volume cranked very high to begin with.
@@j.peters1222 You already dead my man
@@infeel5406 I have excellent hearing lol
I used to have my volume quite high but for a while I've been playing with it lower, I seem to play better when I rely less on sounds anyway as I am less indecisive, even if it then means every so often I lose a play because I didn't notice a sound queue.
For me the gun sounds are the problem, i want to still be able to hear footsteps but the guns are sooo loud, i got the headphones at 50%, the windows mixer game at 70% and the game at 4%... and its still too loud.
That will legit give you a tactical advantage
@@puudles No it wont, right now i can perfectly hear my enemyes moves, adding sliders for the louder sounds its an advantage to everyones hearing lmao. Even kliksphilip brought up this problem a while ago.
The only "advantage" I can think of is completley disabling gun sounds so while you shoot you can hear someone pushing you better, but even that can be fixed by not allowing you to fully mute a certain sound, also not being able to hear other players gun sound is a massive disadvantage to you.
Please give an example on how it would be an tactical advantage to me.
@@carbustel You can use this:
bind mouse1 "+mouse1Toggle"
alias +mouse1Toggle "+attack; volume 0.1; "
alias -mouse1Toggle "-attack; volume 0.5"
Adjust he numbers to your liking
@@mosk11tto damn thats smart, never wouldve thought of that, imma give it a try next time i play
@@carbustel problem is you won't hear anyone coming when you're shooting
when teammates im spectating are just spraying the ak or awp at the end of the round is when i am most bothered for sure but i am unsure if the loudness equalization options available via windows or 3rd party drivers are worth it because, as 3kliks video from a year or two ago explains, it often makes a foot step from across the map sound like its right next to you, etc. Im just unsure how to properly configure these settings to cut out the damaging volume levels only
the review i wanted
this is sooo important!! I always had the struggle to destroy my ears with not important sounds to be able to hear all the steps..
like: The bomb go boom, shatterin glas, getting headshotted, flashes/HE nades, awps shooting..
Kinda stupid that Valve has no solution since this date..
People bring up using loudness equalization but the argument against that has always been step sounds are hard to pinpoint if there is no clear distinction in sound volume based on from how far you are hearing the noise.
yeah man I am 41 years old and when I die in a round I instantly lower my volume until the beginnin of the next round. hearing damage is no joke
I feel you, but I'm 19 and I have fucking tinnitus since I'm 15, this is no joke as you said
@@ChipsGoutSmegma all the best to you man. I hope you can fix it with infusions or something. I reduced the sound I play on, changed settings to less base heavy on all headsets - seems to have helped as first measures. My parents and in-laws all have hearing problems I want to avoid that - even though I hope technology will catch up and provide some good solutions to such issues - including your tinitus. Best wishes from Austria!
@@anFy81 thank you man !
another way better solution is to use a volume automation with for example dolby sound and some other sound modification programs like equalizer apo. easiest way is to increase the eq volume above 0db and decrease system volume, and the volume will stay the same at all times.
Or just make Valve lower the headshot and explosion sound :(
This is band aid fix, hopefully Valve does something about it. And by Valve I mean that single janitor that works on CSGO and TF2
That's pretty cool
ty
I just hope Gamers Club doesn't ban me ;)
With old csgo gun sounds, those louder sounds didnt hurt my ears that much. After they changed gun sounds to be PITCHIER and HIGHER, it slowly started to heart my ears and ive been turning volume down year by year.. I mean, few higher sounds here and there wasnt a big deal, but when whole shooting is LOUDER id say its making dmg for future kids ears. And I can say its not about my age, its all about these new "better gun sounds". Ofcourse flash + bomb explosion sounds would be better with optimization but well, we will see
I tried his programs but it's a bit buggy for me, the sound didn't come back to normal etc.
nah , Im binding F4 volume 0.001 when bomb explodes I press F4 and F5 for medium volume 0.05 and F6 for main volume 0.7
Something like this for colourblind individuals would be amazing.
Flashbangs, bombs and when you die doesn't bother me as much as the loudness of your own gun shooting, with volume too low can't hear steps well enough with volume too loud my own gun makes me wanna ALT+F4...
its funny seeing this video the same thing i made something out of GSI
Where do i find the documentation for other things to control sound like certain guns?
Take this seirously guys. If you ever experienced Tinnitus, it's not fun. It Has* the ability to NOT TURN OFF. You'll hear ringing in ears everywhere, even while you sleep. YOU WON'T EXPERIENCE SILENCE EVER AGAIN. Can you imagine yourself NOT going crazy from that!?!?
This kinda makes me wonder if my tinnitus is really from playing music and concerts and stuff or if it's from having CSGO too loud. I mean might be both but just a thought
The concerts hurt more, I promise
same thoughts on my minddddd
Enable loudness equalization in your headphones settings ;-)
Okay so like what if we can tweak sound settings like we are talking about flashes so how about we have individual bars to set volume for everything like we have voip settings why not gun volume, footsteps, grenade sounds, bomb tick sound , environment sounds, objects breaking sounds etc like we cud havd a ehole section and tweak those sounds ti make it too our preference....sure some settings ill will give some competitive advantages but every9ne xan use those so its not really a hack it would become more like resolution in csgo as people say its personal preference and with this idea even sound can be a personal preference
This is a brilliant idea. Thank you
What about flashbang screen? While playing if the screen goes dark because of flashbang don't you think that's another issue? I don't think that's properly thought out. That flashed screen i can still show you some info but this dark screen thing it totally eliminates that
Thats not a feature in the mod, Maxim edited the footage. 01:55
@@mrauksia oh my 😂 thanks bro, i was so confused
CS:GO is the game that permanently damage my hearing, my sight, and even my brain, just kidding. But the last part I wasn't kidding.
Another great video man, keep up the good work!
Lol bro cs damage my reputation in life in general 🙃
Headshots are way louder
cant copy it from winrar to a new folder nor can download the file without vpn
When I flashed, the screen should be black, not white. The white color is tiring on the eyes.
Too bad that there is no option to lower grenade, flash and bomb explosive sounds... When i bought new headsets, that was a big problem for me, because there is alot of high sound, like shooting from ak47, you cant hear any steps or anyone talking to u in game...
if you could lower weapon sounds it would make it easier to hear footsteps and give a competitive advantage.
Next time can you make the flash invisible im irritadet by the white bright flash
Its best video i ve ever seen. Ty for save my ears @mrmaxim and PatrikZero. Should be default setting valve!!
issue: when ei play with bot on faceit no sound :/
Or you can just use loudness equalization
Indeed. I use the loudness equalization. This is like near perfect.
This program from PatrikZero seems like no alternative at all! Muting the sound for so long or even just lowering the volume can lose you rounds.
what about faceit anti cheat? great vid 👍🏾
I have tinnitus, it has a flashbang noise everytime i hear a song. Wait a minute...
Thanks for Patrik zero for solving 12 peoples problems. You can say he's the 5 minutes craft of the csgo community
15% of people on earth = 12 people LULW
@@Padlock_Steve listen here buddy, I have titnus and whenever I hear the flashing sounds or whatever loud sound, my ear ringing gets amplified. But I'm not complaining like a baby like the few people are
does it work on cs2?
Hello Mr. Maxim, how did you configure the flash light to be "dark" like smoke? Thanks for sharing this solution!
He said he edited it for the video so it's not too bright for us
@@mcp866 Mine continues with the very intense white :(. As he said that it changed in post-processing I believe it's something more for developers than for enthusiasts.
I meant that he changed it in the video post-processing, so it's not changed in-game
@@mcp866 I understand, ty.
When flashed your screen goes grey. how?

What about those who sound like they're playing in a genuine warzone with a potato microphone? Can they make the sounds louder? 🤪
I'm using a soundcard anyway that regulates sound to a similar level.
Makes nothing be super loud all of a sudden
Headshot is much worse imho, mostly in warmup or getting sprayed by an idiot teammate with a Negev. This should be fixed first.
I just use windows loudness equalization
Huge miss out that he didn't include the *dink* when teamates and enemies shoot your kevlar helmet
It’s on the todo list on GitHub. One thing he did miss though was windows shattering. That Pierces my ears every time on overpass bank when a nade is thrown there.
Imagine if you could activate an eq that dips 1.8K TO 3K about 8db when a flash goes off. So you can still hear gun fire
?????? if something is too loud turn down your volume????????
1:52 Maxim uses Brave, my guy!! LESS GGOO!!
isn't there some better solution for flashes like an EQ? An automated lowpass for example for flashes?
Also these sounds didn't really ever bother me, they're not that loud, but the gun sounds like from the AK were very loud and always annoyed me. if i wanna hear steps then the volume is so high that the AK for example almost hurts my ears and kindof makes me blind because I can't concentrate with these loud sounds
I feel like I'd sometimes miss a bit of a step sound that I'd usually hear. Would love to see the devs do something about this.
What a shame, I thought it would screen off russian.
i actually love this, my girlfriend suffers from PTSD. csgo is my favorite game and she never wants to play with me cause of flash bangs, awp sound, gunshots. but she can’t hear footsteps cause she lowers the master volume.
Equalizer APO + Reacomp, easy
in my opinion, it would make it even worse !
There are other solutions which will lower the sound if they detect high pitch sound no matter what it is. Sound lock is a free program.
Volmatic is paid on steam but has a lot of features for example how fast to change the volume also which programs to be affected like Discord for example.
Highly recommend Volmatic (on steam)
Better way to do this would be to lower only the high band of csgo so the ringing is eliminated while the rest of the frequencies are there to prevent all audio from going low.
hallå gubbar
It's weird i can feel my ears getting ready for the high pitch sound when it's not there.
good info . but based on the response, more than half the community wont be using this .....BUT hey, GOOD content >>>KEEP it up AND GO BANANAs
I care more about the flashes being too bright than the game being too loud tbh
This. But no one cares about that tho.
and think about the radio messages terrible
very nice. not gonna use it
I hate HS sounds , its so loud and annoyng !
Oh the creator is the ex Hellraisers player Zero, very cool. It's a bit SUSSY when a csgo pro studies computer science tho, ez hacks.
mz gf actuallz fucking dies when she hears that sound so thanks
Huh lmao, what's up bro
@@MrMaxim sry my keyboard was on eng
My gf faints when she hears very high frequencys
And the plugin actually helped her a little
But if she doesn't get flashed directly
She will fokn faint
This is a must, really. Pro players mute the game when dm'ing for a reason. Imagine dm'ing for hours constantly hearing spray and headshot sounds from 1st person perspective. I personally can't understand why getting headshotted (especially with a helmet on) must be so loud. It scares you off and hurts your ears unnecessarily.
idk sounds really unnecessary to me
pun intended?

Who cares. Legit soon some mf is probably gonna remove flashes cause they have epilepsy.
Isnt a black flash modification already out there for a long time , expect this way far back.
I honestly disagree with this idea. One step from removing "disturbing" sounds and images completely. I hope Valve does no such thing.
an option accessibility feature isnt the same as censorship or even comparable
I never said it is. But essentially changing core design of the game makes no sense. If you can't play the game because of your health, then just don't. Or do you also go running with your broken knee? Didn't think so.
@@XIOZak wtf does lowering a loud ass sound from csgo has anything to do with "changing core designs" tf you talking
Yeah, literally everything. Play CSGO sometimes.
