    Hi, Brett! Thank you for your great review! Is it possible that you try and give your opinion about some other products? I am interested in BYoga mat, LiquidBalance Yoga Mat, Alo warrior mat, affirmats. I am having Jade Harmony but I really need a one more mat for change. And one more question about Liforme - I've heard that it becomes slippery after a year of use or sooner - what was your experience?

      +Trisha Buel thanks!!! I didn't do Lulu mats in this review, just because I had SO many. But I know people love "the mat" from Lulu and that's it's super non-slip and similar to the Gaiam Sol. Hello! Thanks for this video, I still have some doubts about what mat to buy. Two years ago I started to train at home, like fitness/hiit/cardio. And some months ago I started to finish my training sessions with some yoga stretching and postures. So, one of my questions (besides of the gripness of the mat I will choose) is if sport shoes could damage the mat soon. I now that practicing yoga is without shoes, but as I need a good gripness mat also for training and I need to put my shoes for the jumps/burpees... I don't want to spend a lot of money and damage the mat with my shoes. What can you recommend? thanks a lot!!

    I have a Fabletics mint colored yoga mat. I bought it from the Fabletics store at Mall of America. It’s the best yoga mat I have ever owned. My boyfriend gave me his old one when he stopped doing P90X due to have a back injury from the program. He bought the mat on sale from Kmart. The mat needed replacement anyways it had some rust spots from sweating and the material was peeling off anyways.

    Have you ever tried the Manduka LiveOn mat? I'm currently debating between that and the eKO mat. I really appreciate your review on the eKO mat and it pretty much confirms what I needed to know about that one. I'm just really curious about the LiveOn mat. There is a pretty significant price difference ($58 for the LiveOn and $88 for the eKO). so if I can save $30 and still have great performance, that would be awesome! FWIW I mostly do vinyasa and tend to sweat a lot so good grip is a must. Thanks!!

    hi Brett, I have just bought the liforme travel mat. unfortunately I'm not in love with it as i expected, maybe u could offer some advice? I have 3 main issues with it:
    1. while it's meant to be thin I don't find the material supportive at all, in fact it's painful for my knees and I've never experienced this with any other yoga mat before. I've tried this on top of another mat but it doesn't lie flat, it sort of 'ripples' on top.
    2. the alignment cues seem to be for taller people I suspect. I have been practising for a few years so flexibility isn't an issue, but using the alignment cues make me too far stretched, to the point of losing balance
    3. while the mat is very grippy as it should be, I find it hard to transition between yoga poses, getting 'stuck' rather than being able to move easily. also because of this I'm unable to get deeper in poses e.g. in king pigeon, I get stuck rather than being able to shift slightly to get more comfortable / deeper.
    please could you help as I've been looking forward to this mat for so long and now I'm just so disappointed. if I don't get to use it, because of the knee pain, it will just be a waste :(

      Bushrah Iqbal You should watch my video on the Liforme mat.. The Liforme mat is horrible and I complained to Liforme in the U.K and they took back my mat. I think B. Larson got her Liforme mat for free, so this is why she gave it a good review, but it is really a cheap thin mat. I ended buying a Lululemon The Mat and a Manduka Eko 5mm Mat and I am very happy with my new mats. But in all honesty, both mats took about 2 months to get rid of the stinky rubber smell. You just have to air them out in a cool room you don't use. They are both rubber mats, so don't air them out in the sun, but do let fresh air circulate in the room either fresh air coming from a window or air conditioning, so the rubber smell dissipates faster. I like that my new mats are super sticky and that I can hold my asanas on the mat, especially the Lululemon mat. Good luck!

      @Softy372 7 лет назад

      Kelly D. I got it online from yogamatters and they're saying they would only return it if it's unused / in original packaging etc....but I'm trying to explain that there's no way I would have known about these issues without trying it, and I've only used it once. At such a high price point it's crazy they don't allow returns especially when it's actually causing knee pain in my case!

    Hi Brett !! I just discovered your channel and I totally love it, it's really interesting. I have just a question. I practice ashtanga yoga every day and I am looking for a new yoga mat. I hesitate between a Jade or a Manduka eko yoga mat. Which one would you advice me ? Jade yoga mats seem really good but they don't seem hygienic as you explained in your Jade mat's review. Can we use the Manduka eko as a travel mat ? I don't know which one to choose... Can you help me please in my choice ?

    • @BrettLarkinYoga
      @BrettLarkinYoga  9 лет назад +1

      +Kris S I love Jade...honestly, but I like the eKO too. I think on YogaOutlet they have the travel mat form of Manduka eKO too, this one www.yogaoutlet.com/ProductDetails.asp?Click=4917234&ProductCode=40406 and there's one that's just "lite" and not "super light." See if you can go to a studio and rent or try a Jade..you'll know really fast if you love it or not. If you're just worried about the hygiene thing with Jade, don't worry about it. These are such small, nuanced details I talk about in the reviews, but the Jade is cleanable and does hold up a long time. I've had one for 8 years now!

      Moonjava Yoga Flow thank you for the answer :). Since the video I have discovered the lululemon mats during my teacher training and I fell in love with it !! Haha. The manduka are for me very good but for yin yoga. I know a lot of students and teachers use manduka for ashtanga or Vinyasa. I prefer lululemon or Jade for sweaty practices. It's crazy to see how we are all different 💜

    In my opinion, alignment lines are a gimmick. A central line is all you need to assist alignment. Sticky mats were originally invented by a woman who had a medical condition where she didn't sweat. I find they hinder the development of muscle and core strength by acting as a prop. Yes, you need to grip safely but these mat manufacturers have gone too far making people believe that the stickier the better.
