I like your theories. BotW has lots of Eastern Philosophy overtones, lots of place names, some weapon names and dialog. Not to mention monks in shrines mummified in a meditative pose. But with the flavor of Hylia. Its one of the things that attracts me to BotW. I assume TotK would be at least as spiritual if not more. I like the way you look at it.

Pretty sure the glow on the New Champions is the same particle effect from when you teleport It's almost certain it's a gameplay element, you can probably summon them at any time, and they glow to symbolize how much they can last before they despawn It's blue, not tourquoiuse
Tears of the Kingdom comes out on my 5 year anniversary of owning a switch AND playing Breath of the Wild, I am so hyped i can't wait!!! These next 2 weeks are going to be longer than the entire 5 years before...
I think that every tear is the “recall tear” and that they all start off as deactivated and grey like the one ganondorf had. By helping the new sages awaken their powers, the tears activate to which ever sage element they represent. Each tear is the recall tear in that the sages have to complete trials to form a unity with an ancient version of themselves and unlock their full power. Ganondorf awakens to his and transforms into his demise form, Sidon and tulin are probably channeling the powers of an ancient sage, and riju is clearly using urbosas fury at one point.
To me, the glowing particles from Sidon and Tulin look like the sheikah fast travel particles. So maybe the sky view towers are teleporting them into the sky or something.

Had to add that I agree that TOTK has many elements from the Zelda franchise. I’ve even seen parallels between The Minish Cap regarding the Wind Tribe and the floating islands and huge lily pads which are also in Skyward Sword.
The final weeks before the release of an anticipated game is one of the best and most hype moments, so I don’t get how people can really get upset about others getting excited 😭 Your enthusiasm for this game is infectious and it gets me all the more excited. I can’t wait until release 😮💨

Been a while since we've talked, and I hope to get to see you at GDQ or Pace again one day. For the theory, I've been considering since the footage released that the champions alongside Link weren't physically there, although I couldn't grasp on why that might be. This is a really good theory to explain that possibility. The dungeons could be a manifestation of Link or the champions' spiritual realm, or it could be real and the champions are in sleep of some kind and they can only manifest spiritually to help Link. I'm leaning towards the latter. Once they've finished the dungeon or fixed whatever's plaguing their area, they get the tear and it awakens their third eye, or wakes them up so they can continue on physically.
issue with speculation is that we fast can end up in a way saying " your theory is wrong my is right" without even meaning it or trying to say that at all just because we wanna explain why we think our theory might be viable. :P

I think you are onto something with regards to Link helping the champions with something spiritual. The footage where Link is fighting alongside a champion with blue wisps may be an indication of that. The only thing I diverge is the tears. It’s clearly indicated the tears are engraved with specific symbols, meaning a water tear can only be a water tear… and not dependent on the spirit of the user. Keep it up, love the theories!
Yeah I think this is one of the earliest shots in this games story, where link retrieves the Master Sword to seek out the origins of the gloom with Zelda

Ooooh. What if that’s where the time travel comes in? Instead of it being like the silent realm, it’s the “realm of memories” like with the Blight re-fights in BotW? We and the new champions have to overcome the trials of the ancient sages in the realm of memories to gain the tear.
I partially don't think TotK will be much of a fusion of elements, because as a better example of that Skywartd Sword was masterfully retreading almost ANYTHING you can come up with regarding Zelda. It's clear that Fujibayashi's style in that regard is still to respect the source material alot, but here I think it's more of a continuation from that peak, sloping a little bit more to creating it's own direction and new material. It's also the fact he had been directing a lot of the handheld games to round out that influence, so it makes sense he would INCLUDE a lot of his own stuff that some other director might ahve ignored, in addition to influences form the obvious games like Twilight Princess.
This theory could also justify how dungeons are seemingly in the overworld. If they were truly in the overworld we could just build zonai tech and completely ignore some of the puzzles, and I doubt Nintendo would just give us some bullshit reason to prevent us from using them, if the dungeons are partly in a different realm then we could imagine that the outside of this realm part of the dungeons can be accessed at any time but once you enter the realm, you are limited in your possibilities (for example, Ultrahand wouldn't work)
I have a theory regarding the koroks. We saw in the frist game play trailer and in the early access that the koroks are scattered around Hyrule and the sky islands. They probably all got lost when the great deku tree disappears. Just a thought what happened to the koroks in botw? What scattered them all around?
They pulled a prank on Hestu and are hiding, pretty much forcing Hestu into playing hide and seek with them but Link finds them first so they give the seeds to Link, who then gives the seeds to Hestu

think we will def see some kind of spirit realm related to the champions. maybe even the zonai in specific as not only the champions have to go through spiritual growth but Link as well, though I do still think we will encounter natural elemental dungeons. maybe like you said the spiritual part is with the champions and the environmental/elemental part, or whats wrong with the areas will be dungeon related. so a combo of both might be very possible and in a way was done in skyward sword too right?

They are welcome to check to see what you are cooking before they sit and get a plate of food. They are not obligated to attend the party - if they hate the food they can leave.
