yes it can, the rollers can adjust closer for smaller pieces. It obviously depends how small your pen is but click on those links and read the specs, see if it applies to the size of pens you make.

The software is called Lightburn. It's pretty cheap and very easy to use, there are a ton of youtube videos on how to use Lightburn
