Such a great moment to see Payal Kapadia sitting next to talents I saw growing up. This woman deserves all the praise for her beautiful writing and directing.
James Mangold’s metaphor on writing as though you’re watching a movie and sitting next to a blind person, while describing the images with few words. That’s the best writing advice I’ve ever heard. Truly will change my approach to screenwriting from now on! Pure genius!
This was incredibly short. I hope you upload a longer discussion. In my opinion screenwriting is the most interesting and difficult part of the film making process. I hope there's more.
how is this so short when all the other roundtables are an hour?? edit: yall it was a rhetorical question, i know this is a clip. i just hope they post the full roundtable as well
@@Chrisratata sure but they don’t usually post half the discussion before dropping the full one with other roundtables, which is why i have the feeling that they won’t post the full thing/will chop it up into clips
@@01Elvi don't usually but today they did. That's just what it is. Most channels that do this have a strategy of posting both clips and the full thing to further drive engagement. Doesn't mean the full thing isn't coming.
I think there were technical issues (ie how some of the audio on Justin's coverage seemed more like a lav mic while Jason's coverage seemed more like a shotgun/room mic). I think they couldn't edit around the technical issues and ended up with this, my best guess!
Payal Kapadial's "clear" thinking and social critique "juxapositioned" to her partner's/ cinematirapher's tender images makes for a powerful, strong film. Also, i like the sweet gestues of courting they suggest for a new kind of society.
Corbet and Ross did the Directors Roundtable. Baker is keeping a low profile because he is problematic and doesn't want anyone to remember. Straughan would have been a nice inclusion but apparently we need Reitman there for literally zero reason.
There has to be a full version of this somewhere on the horizon...
It probably will be released on the page later this week.

Proud of 🇮🇳

That would be more like an audio book than a film though.
same.

All We Imagine As Light and Payal Kapadia LETSGOOOOOO

Basically a sneak peek
I need the full ASAP!!

Seems pretty clear to me that this is intentionally just a clip

it appears to just be an "excerpt" dude
props to writers

All we imagine as light deserved a nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the academy awards.
Release full version!
The video is cut off in the beginning btw

I'm guessing someone said something they could get cancelled for the the full video will never see the light of day.
where's the full video??
There's no feeling quite like reading a great script that you get to help bring to life ✍✨
Where is the full thing 😭 why are you making us wait like this?
Oh nah yall gotta reupload roll it again
Why is this only 15 minutes? Is this a mistake?
So the rest of the conversation was too spicy? Or they got into a big argument or something
It took so long for them to post too
Exactly what I was thinking. Someone's publisist is stopping the full video.
Ok it's been three days. Release the full version!
hey thr, why aren't you uploading the full video??
So the writers get a 16 minute clip and, if you click on the link to the full Q&A, the website is so jumpy that you can’t even read it. This stinks.

Interesting. Thank you.
Where is the full version?

@ STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM NOW WE HERE
@ Got it. Thanks for clarifying.
Payal kapadiya is ❤ go girl
I’m sorry but why did y’all not post the whole roundtable?
here for payal!
What tf happened here?! This is all chopped up and wrong.
Mangold was spitting facts.
They said the writers only get 15 minutes
Excuse me, why exactly is this just an excerpt? You've got to be kidding me, give us the whole thing
Folks, they're probably just splicing them up for monetization purposes. I'm sure the full video will drop before the evening is up.
Conclave ??
Where's Corbet? Baker? Ross? Straughan?

1:12 😅🤣😂
Jesse Eisenberg. Wow.
The sound is awful
16 MINUTES?????? 16!!!! BE FOR REAL
Talk is cheap.😊
Courtney 🇦🇺💓🥀💓💙💙💙💓💓💓🥀💓
Vance 28 KAGA
Why is Reitman there. Seriously 🫠
Because he's an accomplished writer/director.
@@matthewlavagna6080 That isn’t why you get invited to a round table 🤷♂️

I am so so so happy to see Payal here amongst everyone here. “All we imagine as light” is brilliant and everyone should watch it at least once. 🤍
