Admittedly being a tad lazy here; the point has probably been made multiple times. I’m doing refreshes for STAP. Kyro’s are an extremely welcome bonus. The cynic in me guesses that this is a very smart method being employed by CG to get ad many people as possible to spend as many crystals as possible at every turn. Yeah. It’s “sneaky”. But that’s EXACTLY how a resource management game should operate. Kudos for doing the hard work thus far. Useful video to confirm / deny people’s expectations for the event. Personally, I’m gonna keep-on keeping-on re: cantina farms. 😁

So I could not wait for your video and tried the 200 refresh I got three I'm doing my own math show that that would be decent. So I tried again and got one but I also got an Omicron. That being said I will not be doing the 200 again
I'll start by saying there isn't a problem with your assumptions, but for me I just disagree with #5. If shipments are a bad value, it needs to do more than beat that value. I would argue the value should be close to the refresh value for it to be worth it. So for me, the base assumption would be if I'm already doing the 100 refresh, I can take 100 crystals out of the 200 refresh and assume that is covering the normal cantina drops. This leaves 100 crystals to cover whatever the Kyro drop rate is to see if it is worth it. In either methodology its not worth it. But perhaps putting the expected drop rate value between the shipments and refresh values would be helpful for other occurrences. Just a thought that is completely ignorable. Stay cool. It's not quite that simple. The math behind that becomes much more complex. Slow farming, single refresh, double refresh, triple refresh and shipments could all be used as comparison.
If we get the same drop/energy ratio has LS7B, it's 1 Kyro per 50 energy spent. Under that assumption: If you JUST need Kyros and not the rest of the stuff you're getting from the cantina node, you'd be better to drop crystals on them directly than spending any crystals on refreshes (but who doesn't need signal data at the least?) 100cr refreshes are worth it if you also need the shards or signal data 200cr refreshes are MARGINALLY better value than direct crystal buys if you're going for Kyro+signal data (217cr equivalent), but close enough I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you were planning on buying any of it with crystals anyways. 200cr Kyro+shard refreshes are a bit fuzzier - also slightly better value for shards on 16 energy nodes (267cr equivalent), with cheaper nodes being increasingly better value. I still probably wouldn't with the 16 energy nodes, but would if I was chasing shards on cheaper nodes.
@@CalvinAwesome Last I looked (about a year ago), the consensus was 20%. But yeah, looks like newer, larger tracking attempts put it at 22.72% (in ~25k attempts - thanks egnards!) Using 22% (or 22.72%) improves the value of refreshes, but not much. 1 refresh used on signal data nodes will average the equivalent of 224 spent crystals (at 22%) instead of the 217 crystals I had.

Not sure if I'm missing something or if I'm just very lucky but my cantina nodes are currently dropping both Merrin shards and Kyrotech. It may be that I just got her to 7* today, but I did absolutely get both in the same pull
I wonder if the value proposition is worth it if you are on the signal data node? The combined value of signal data and kyros on the same node might be worth considering. Though I agree, if you are looking at kyros alone, it's not worth it.
Best node for these kind of bonus drops is the signal data nodes I'm actually having 100% drop rate of Merrin shards Maybe same for these kyrotechs too?
The drop rates for me have been HORRIBLE. Not at all worth extra cantina refreshes, I can get more kyrotech spending crystals on normal energy refreshes.

The nice thing I've found is if you start with a 6 star Merrin and get her up to 7 star, you get both kyros and shards, double bonus.
