The “Deceptively Technically Savvy Marketing Team” thanks you for your support. BTW, in the photo at 00:49 the bearded gentleman to the far left holding a shotgun is my great, great, grandfather. If I didn't already have more 9mm PCC's than I "need," I'd be tempted on this one. I still have fantasies about that MPX we reviewed last year. So Sweet. By the way, your "marketing team" looks WAY more sophisticated than OUR marketing team ever was. Our "marketing team" kept begging me to quit talking so much and to make shorter videos. About 20 years ago I bought a 9mm upper for my AR. I expected it to basically just "spray" bullets out at a range of 100 yards Astoundingly it turned out to be incredibly accurate, making one inch groups at 50 yards. it didn't seem to care what ammo I used. It would impact in different areas sightly using different brands or weights, but it maintained that grouping with everything I used.
@@jackmarks2176 Appreciate that feedback. If you’re interested in carbine velocities, I have a dedicated video on that topic which will be posted soon.

Having bought this same model Ruger just a few months ago I would have to say that this review is definitely spot on! I just recently found this channel because I was trying to find information on why my Ruger was having failure to feed/failure to eject issues. I found a lot of talk about the extractor but none really talking about the spring recoil. So I decided after watching this video to replace both the recoil spring and extractor from tankemkross and let me tell you, I absolutely love this PCC!
Recently bought a factory Ruger PCC with a MagPull stock have yet to shoot it, owing to poor weather and lack of time, but I specifically liked the self storage stock. One down side is $60 for a full set of sling swivels...
I have the Ruger and the Henry carbines as well as a Colt AR and a Frankenstein AR in 9MM. Ruger and Henry were all changed to the Glock receiver. Wife is a Ruger person and I am a Henry fan. Both carbines are very well made and shoot amazingly. Great video.
You sir have the best videos on RUclips. The level of detail you cover is incredible and very appreciated. Been a fan for a long time and get excited when I see you drop a video. Thank you 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
This is the first one of your videos I've watched. Well done sir. You give a thorough description of the gun and still made it pretty interesting. You answered any question I had about the thing. Now just have to find one at a reasonable price in late 2023....
Glad you're back to making videos! PCC's are the most fun to shoot. The velocity gain is great. I've put +1000 rounds through the first Ruger PCC without one failure.
Priceless photo! I have this same model carbine. My 9 year old grandson (Mr. Mag Dump) didn't want to give it back to me. I have had a few feeding issues that I attributed to all of the junk after market magazines that I have. I will get a couple of those TK springs though. Thanks for the tip! I really like this channel. right to the point and always fun. Just wish there was more of it. We miss you MAN! good to see you I hope things are going okay.
Excellent vid. My results match yours using the 124gr NATO ball. I was able to achieve a 3" group at 100 yards using very old 124gr Federal HydraShok +P+. My actual carry ammo is 124gr Speer GDHP +P. The best it did was about 4" at 100. At about 1000 rounds I have not experienced the spring issue, but will definitely keep an eye on it. I'll be ordering a couple of those springs JIC. Keep up the good work.
Glad to see you back on youtube and I have missed your videos. I have seen a few over the last few years but not like you were when I first subscribed. Welcome back and I hope your here to stay for a while.
Your ammo tests are PERSACTLY what I needed to see. THANKS! I got a big box of Winchester NATO 124 gr. ammo. Surprisingly good accuracy for bulk ammo. I also got UNDERRWOOD +P+ 90 gr. I've added all the MCARBO internal and external parts and the TANDEMKROSS 20% stiffer spring. A few MAGPUL upgrades like their flush cup QR sling, Angled Forearm Grip, MOE 1/4" cheekpiece for perfect eye-to-reticle alignment with my HOLOSUN AEMS circle/dot sight. (IMHO the best PCC sight.) This carbine, with its cold hammer forged barrel is ACCURATE! And it eats all kinds of 9 mm ammo. -> BTW, try the TACCOM or TANDEMKROSS ambidextrous safety levers for AR type ergonomics (HIGHLY recommended) and TACCOM's solid Delrin snap on mag well extension. Great review guy!!!!..... I have my NYS compliant PC9 and ran into the same issue with mine... that Tandemkross Red spring did do the trick... to me the problems with stove pipes and failure to eject happened after 100 rounds, maybe on my 2nd or 3rd trip to the range... seems like it happened after the PC got hot. Either way the problem was fixed with that spring.

I have one of those and managed to get decent (bad guy sized) groups at 200yds with my handloads. Yes, 9mm drops a decent amount at 200 yds, but that wasn't a problem after I added a 20 MOA rail riser. I was using a high magnification scope. I also tried shooting at 300yds, but the groups opened up way too much where I couldn't reliably hit the bad guy sized target with any regularity. So for me the 9mm Ruger carbine is a 200yds and inward gun.
@@chrissewell1608 In my state the wise and caring political ruling class passed a law requiring all guns not within reach need to be locked up so my 9mm PCC is and has been locked up ever since I bought it because it's not something I would want for home defense. For home defense the first choice is the 9mm handgun I carry. 2nd choice is my 12ga mossberg 590A1 or my 556 Aero AR15, but both of those are locked up so realistically it's probably just going to be the 9mm handgun unless I have time to get the AR15 or shotgun out of the safe and loaded. Very nice video. I have one of these and really appreciate all the ammo testing you did out of yours. It will definitely give me a couple more options to try in mine. You just sold another spring for Tandemkross as well.

Not one malfunction or even a slight hiccup(i swear on a stack of bibles on that). Even groups at an inch or 2 with a red dot and 3x magnifier...i love mine!!!
Excellent video, and it is encyclopedic. (See, I did watch it to the end.) From one Tennessean to another, well done. I subscribed based solely on this vid.
I have the same PCC and it is my favorite tool at the range.👍 I have shot 115 gr, 124 gr, 147 gr out of it, and it just runs. Mine is fairly new, I might have 1500 through it so far. I have not done a lot of shooting past 50 yds, but at 50 yds from the bench, with the bipod down, I can thread 34 rounds into a quarter sized hole. It is a tack driver. I also picked up the Ruger PC Charger as well, very complimentary.👍
A couple of years ago firearms deer season crept up on me, and the only rifle I had confidence in the sighting was the Ruger PC, so I took it to the blind. Cartridges were 147-gr HSTs, my carry ammo. I rattled in a young buck and he gave me a perfect broadside shot at 15 yards, so I let fly. He ran about 20 yards and dropped, but it took him a couple of minutes to die. When I did the field dressing I searched for the bullet (no pass-through) and only found shards of lead and jacket. It had disintegrated. I originally thought the ideal velocity had been exceeded by the longer barrel, but your tests proved that to not be true. I'm at a loss.
I've been wanting one of these for a minute. Mainly because of the takedown function. Thanks for listing velocities, etc from different brands. I don't like Federal ammo personally. So I can't say I'm disheartened or surprised it doesn't perform well in a longer barrel. I'll hopefully pick up one of these rifles next week.
Great video as usual. Keep ‘‘em coming, sir! Only thing stopping me from considering this variant and platform is the cross bolt safety. Being a lefty and no stranger to the 10/22, there are different variants I’ve gone with since PCC’s came available.
Great video! Great info, thanks. Your velocities mirror my results. I like the red dots but find it hard to shoot good groups. They are hard to zero and the bullet hits "somewhere" under the dot. The 1moa dots are the best for groups. They also are a bit more money. Try switching to a regular crosshair scope and see if you get better accuracy. I use the Hornady 147 gr XTP and VV3N38 powder. I get 1225 fps from a 16" barrel. Very accurate and this boat tail bullet has a BC of 2.0.
Excellent video and much appreciated. I’d respectfully suggest that realistic one-MOA performance is likely achievable with far more precise weapon design/manufacture and with match grade ammunition. A Ford is not a Porsche. BUT, this Ruger PC Carbine is, in fact, a very useful tool. Critters infesting your property (quadruped or biped)? This Ruger is more than capable of resolving the situation.
Me too Brother!!, as are tons of folks. Think it's coming, building up "speed", by offering. 45 first, then 10mm. That way, everyone feels like they individually were "heard" by Ruger. Classic marketing, that works. It's a sweet unit indeed.
I have my PCC sub gun zeroed in at 100 yards and just know I have to adjust holding low about six inches at 50 yards. So any target up to 100 yards I need to hold slightly low. It will shoot about a three inch group at 100 yards so figure six inches stretched out to 200 yards. It does what I need it to do giving me up to 100 yards or better and also for my purpose of a vehicle long gun. Thanks for sharing.

I am 100% sure the shape of a 9MM bullet is the reason for lack of performance at greater distance. Great video as always....
Yeah, I wonder if 147gr XTP bullets would be more accurate since they are boat tails.
I bet those Winchester flat nose M1152 rounds would do some damage pretty far out
They are both too light and too slow. A 158 38 special would be doing the same velocities and weighs more.
@@bobjohnson1633 Good luck firing .38 special in an 9mm chamber, and most 158gr .38 special is subsonic from a rifle.

You know it’s going to be a good day when there is a new tnoutdoors9 video.
Thanks for hanging in there!
Im holding out hope that they'll roll out a 10mm version
Good heavens, I am happy to have spotted this video in my feed
Glad to see you again
Thank you for your work sir.
The legend lives on. . . .
Thank you for sharing and creating this video, I believe it will be very useful to me.
