The equinox at Loughcrew - sun lighting astronomical stone at back of Cairn T

  • At visit to the megalithic site at Loughcrew, Ireland to see the Equinox sunrise shine down the passage of Cairn-T and light up the astronomical stone at the rear of the passage.
    The cairn is 5300 years old and part of a complex of 36 structures scattered across 3 hilltops. In folklore they are associated with the Cailleach, a goddess associated with creation, weather and ancestors.

    Thanks for that Andrew, nice tonic for the day that's in it (though the weather is marvellous) hope you're well and keeping up with the Covid news isn't frying your brain too badly!
