- Skylar Nemetz is charged with the Oct. 16, 2014 shooting death of former McKinleyville High School cheerleader Danielle Nemetz, whom he married and moved with to Lakewood, Washington, when he joined the Army and was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in 2013.
I wish the whole trial was taped to watch.
You mean the entire trial wasn't filme? So who video'd the parts that are recorded and playing on RUclips?

UPDATE: Not guilty on both First and Second Degree Murder! Guilty of first-degree manslaughter with a firearm enhancement. Facing 11.5 to 13.5 years. What a shame. He got off easy!
What an absolute miscarriage of justice! 😫
And with good time he would only do 6.
So he’s probably out already
He got off way to easy! Manslaughter is the lightest form of punishment he could have been awarded. Guess his defense attorney wasn't that bad after all. Personally, I think he should have got second-degree murder and 20 years.
There were only crocodile tears during the testimony.
From on line pictures upon his sentencing (to a measly 13 years for this crime) there were actual ‘real’ tears on display.
Btw If he was tried in an actual military court with trained soldiers as the jury, I doubt they would’ve thought the shooting was accidental.
The defense should have said " this story has many versions from beginning to end " that would have been more accurate in this case , lol. Thanks for the upload CCV.
I want to see the witness testimonies.
He should have gotten life without the possibility of parole !!!!!! Guilty as guilty can be , he will pay the full penalty one day
A guilty person would also be white as a ghost and panicking and crying if he'd realized he was up shit creek.
I’m annoyed how he keeps referring to him and them as “kids”. Tactic
It’s sick how this lawyer is trying to defend a cold blooded murderer.
He's the defense attorney and that's his job, personal feelings have to be put aside.
Nemetz even on stand refused to admit the extremely damning texts re jealousy. Proof right there he's covering up jealousy cuz he knows it looks bad
The definition of premeditated has been so diluted. Settled
But why was he A ok with bottles on top of fridge?
Oh and defense lawyers do all this- becs it sometimes works. Jury's are impressionable and get distracted by argument
Yeah? And if Skylar Had NOT yelled 'oh NO Danny Noooo', everyone would hv said he had no reaction. This is really not evidence of anything.. A guilty person would do same. It's the OTHER evidence that says he's guilty. The lying, the jealousy, his anger & his outrageous controlling behavior.
Defense, "This story is told best from beginning to end....."
The defendant's "story", that is......
Even even as a child, I understood one's "story" was often just one's lie.
Defense needs to be better prepared and it go from each point by point take each piece of information and tear down the line of questions the prosecutor asked witnesses
Skylar's defense attorney leaves a lot to be desired...🤔
So it means you can kill your wife or husband and say "ups it was accidently, i didn't know that the gun was loaded"
What a poor guy !!!
The defense is all over the place and it's not a good defense for his client!!! It was in the bag for the defense based on the prosecution team doing such a horrible job
Nice try defense……..YOU LOST!!!! He is GUILTY!!
Defense said he was guilty of manslaughter
Yea not really a loss. When you listen to this defense lawyer in the beginning, he’s explaining first degree and second degree. Even a 2nd degree would have been a sort of “win” for them. So they definitely feel it’s a win with just manslaughter and 13 years. Likely will be out in 6.
If I were on that jury, just the fact alone if the bullet placement would have been enough for me for a murder2. Premeditated in the 1st.. okay ‘maybe’ not as concrete. But the fact that not only did a supposed “accidental rogue” bullet just happen to not only hit the head; rather than the chair or the wall or ceiling.. it hit her head AND dead center. Meaning he pointed and aimed. So I don’t feel like it was a win at all
the wages of sin is death
GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY
Definition of what premeditation is/ does not mean to imply that every single word in said definition must be present for premeditation to have been proven. But nice try. This is why defense lawyers always want jurors to be on the intellectually challenged side. I say we need to start using professional jurors
What constitutes a "professional juror?"
Like all defense lawyers they want jury's to believe that in order to prove premeditation- nothing can be present that shows stupidity, or irrationality on part of killer. Again- premed can happen in seconds and be born of rage and anger in heat of moment. Oh and heat of moment killings can be premeditated
Yep.....the defense's story is just another story.
+Wheezerism yes another story. 100%
But it worked with the jury, if they convicted him of manslaughter. That's the lightest sentence the courts could give him.
And now gotta face music
Because language is OR...deliberation.
Just as you picknchoose what evidence U want to show jury.
Premeditation can be mere seconds sir. Made in a burst of anger. You are misrepresenting what premed is and is not.
Killed his wife in front her kids sad 😭😭😭😭😭😭
They didn’t have kids…
Huh??? When were these kids involved??? I've watched almost 5 hours of this Trail and I missed when they had kids??? They were kids themselves! Lol
What kid's?
@@shannonvandyne8604 their 2 dogs were their only kids 🐕🦮
No kids in their household.
I believe him. I think it was an unfortunate accentuate
You’re a naive fool if you believe that, no offense.
