I like the neon pink/purple glow added in some places, it's faithful to the game's art style and it gives the video a surreal feeling, sort of like it's a dream or flashback being remembered. Russian accents are used with the henchmen, also faithful. The use of the Mistral font for the title sequence (no doubt a slight nod to the film Drive), the frequent use of improvised weapons, the careful camera angles, the less common voice acting and more common body language; all faithful. I'd say you guys pulled off a pretty nice fan film here with the tech you had and I love it. :) Keep goin', guys.
Good job to you guys! You really caught the atmosphere of Hotline Miami, the lighting was great and I loved your use of the soundtrack. It would be awesome to see more work from you guys on Hotline Miami in the future!
Well see the concept is rather simple. You knock on the door, the target opens the door to accept their pizza, and the hotbags we carry easily hold a suppressed handgun or if required, a sharper, taste. Mask is provided for me in the dumpster behind the shop for pickup, easy to deposit and retrieve as necessary. Once the job is done, we drive away, nobody bats an eye, because the lowly pizza guy is just doing his job.
+Will Marsden Since you hide your mask in a dumpster, aren't you worried of the smell or a dumpster truck accidentally clearing out the dumpster and taking the mask with it by accident?
Not the real backstory, but I love how the actor for Jacket has that hairstyle, because that's the actual hairstyle Jacket in the game has. I find that we some for some reason.
This was really well made especially for the budget!, If it were higher budget or a real film I would imagine the bat looking more like it hit the mobster, Jacket driving a car with pop-up headlights like a MR2 which was in the games release trailer because a Delorean is way too expensive, and a custom made chicken mask that looks more like the actual PayDay version. Great Job on this though and you can tell it's good from the fact that there would only be like 3 changes with higher budget.
@@kalbazan I thought it would have been a little more like 370 for the props which makes it more impressive. Honestly, this is like the peak of what you can do on a budget.
Speedsonic75 OddTristan12123 thanks again! It was a group of friends shooting late nights for about 3 days for a college project. Looking back, I’d make it way way better.
Good stuff, but you're right on the whole non-canon thing. 50 Blessings picks up Jacket because they had dirt on him and knew he was an addict so he was easy to fool and mold
i like the idea here, but it doesn't really feel like an Hotline Miami origin. In the original game, he just got phone calls and that's it, there was really no 'origin' This is still really well made!
its not bad, the quality and production and acting is good, just i didn't feel it was the real Jacket. Jacket is a ex military solider which is confirmed in the web comic's, so he is very much experienced in urban war fair and weapons training, and wouldn't take cover like that under fire XD if You made another one where it was based on the legit back story and portrayed jacket as experienced calm and professional You could pull off something epic in scale, I enjoy and appreciate this for what it is :) just like I said I don't feel it does justice to the real Jacket XD
Solid costumes and atmosphere, but the actors need some practice, the action feels too slow and not nearly enough brutality to do the game justice. Great effort for what it is though, I'd definitely watch a second go!
This was really good. Only thing that throwed me off was the way he caressed the other guy so gently with the bat instead of smacking him.
It was meant to be more slow motion
ALWAYS tip the pizza guy
if one man can take out the entire Russian mafia then he can kill one person with a pizza box
I saw him kill 3 men with a Pizza box..a FUCKIN pizza box.
Lacks blood.

The tf2 scout origins.
Good job to you guys! You really caught the atmosphere of Hotline Miami, the lighting was great and I loved your use of the soundtrack. It would be awesome to see more work from you guys on Hotline Miami in the future!
Plot twist: he actually goes and delivers pizzas. He just really liked the mask and bat.
As a pizza-delivery guy, I can confirm this is how 50 Blessings hires my *ahem* 'services'.

All part of the plan. No leads if the mask from the act goes to landfill is it? :)
Will Marsden So apparently 50 Blessings gives out masks as if they own a factory making it by the truckload?
Great work man, really nice!
As a huge fan of the game, I think you guys did a great job and truly did the game justice.
The fact that you have Miami Nights 1984 at the end just made the whole thing for me!! haha I like it!
I was born in 3/31/1989. Awesome
A day late, but happy birthday!
I like this. It'd totally watch more
I would also love to see more, a series would be amazing!
2:10-2:14
Best filmed part
Pizza box. Very effective
Love Miami, the song in the beginning.
Amazing work! I want full movie.
it needs...More. Blood.

So badass
we need moree
Not the real backstory, but I love how the actor for Jacket has that hairstyle, because that's the actual hairstyle Jacket in the game has. I find that we some for some reason.
This is awesome, you could continue this, this video was like jackets awakening if you get what I mean
good job. please more memes. thanks... i love you ❤
marcus johns in a hotline miami fan-movie? niiiice
I just bought the same rooster mask!
start of this film looks like start of drive

hey, thanks! Truth be told, I think our budget was $250. Made this back when we were all broke college kids.
@@kalbazan I thought it would have been a little more like 370 for the props which makes it more impressive. Honestly, this is like the peak of what you can do on a budget.

2:38 now that is a scout
OMG BIKER APPEARED AFTER THE CREDITS!!! Possible sequel in the works??? :)
Best fan film until i watch
subbed.
His backstory is much, much more complicated, but great job anyway!
Holy shit. Jacket's crazy....
This turned out really well, especially considering that you guys probably didn't have a huge budget to work with.
Good lighting, good editing
Bad acting though
At 2:40 Jacket Guy became a Scout.
Bonk
its not the same without the mask
Even though this was quite well done, I like how as soon as he is attacked and makes his 1st kill like it's no big deal. Great job though
not a drop of blood? That goes against Hotline's very existence.
This is great, the only thing I'll say it to keep the pacing of the action fast similarly to the game.
"Discretion is of the essence"
Marcus i know him!
i thought that the dude playing jacket looked familiar haha
Awasome
Cool
Too bad that they couldn't have used the DMC Delorean :P would have been awesome
Now I want pizza
Surely Jacket drives something better than a CRX.
Good job, though.
he was just a pizza guy
Didnt like the bat part, shouldnt of zoomed in,
But that was actully a real high quality video and captured the franticness of hotline miami
Good stuff, but you're right on the whole non-canon thing. 50 Blessings picks up Jacket because they had dirt on him and knew he was an addict so he was easy to fool and mold
Where did you get the whole "addict" part?
The whole thing about the game being seen through a psychadellic haze maybe?
Yeah I noticed them on my 4th? no probably 7th play through haha
Reminds of Indian cinema
1:46 Wasted
i like the idea here, but it doesn't really feel like an Hotline Miami origin. In the original game, he just got phone calls and that's it, there was really no 'origin'
This is still really well made!
This will be a decent story if hotline miamo 2 doesn't broke all dis crap (good crap)
Yeah, we were having fun back in college. We made this almost 6 years ago.
isn´t jacket the guy from the vines?
Marcus Johns yeah
headliner looks like tom hardy
Michael De Santa, is that you?
Kilastio SM yes son, it is I. Uncle Trevor is pretty insane btw
Supreme Sleep
How the hell Jacket ended up delivering pizza?
Not bad at all.
its not bad, the quality and production and acting is good, just i didn't feel it was the real Jacket.

Jacket is blonde and also that is not DMC DeLorean lol
YO! Is that THE Marcus Johns????????????????
Pretty neat fan-concept on Jacket's origin. Shame HM2 sort of outdated it. Or did it?
Looks great, except driving with a mask at night would be very dangerous.
But he's fucking jacket do
HOLY SHIT! This is great guys , i hope you make more videos of hotline miami ♥
Insta-subscribe
isn't jacket blonde? other than that pretty cool

Выглядит как Паша Дуров )
WHY U NO GET GIRL
Into song?
Masks? No? What do you mean "haven't you heard?"
Poor guy 3 's guy
How can make that color? It's using DI? Or using real purple and green light machine
well it's Richard, not jacket but okay.
It is Jacket wearing Richard mask.
okay...
cool (Y)
Kids fight

why subscribes only 170
😐Wait, jacket does not suppose to grab the girl and leave the place with the girl?😐
