Todd has shaped how we think about snowboarding from the overall direction the sport has taken to how what we came to know is possible has inspired the way that we personally ride. Thank you Todd for keeping the humor, keeping the style, keeping the spirit & attitude, and making sure the cool kids club gets representation for all the years, all the contests or lack there of, the brokenness, and through the brands and fads/sponsors we endured. Way to represent! And way to make sure the future generations know what's up through your mentorship. And way to perpetuate the trifecta (surf sk8 sno). My husband is your age and we named our kid Ollie Winter Kai, a tribute to all the boardsports and at ten years old he's a better surfer, sk8er and soon to be gasp, snow shredder than my aging ass. It's humbling but so glad you found your place within the establishment and made it better reflect what we were all about and what we're all still clinging to in our own ways. Cheers!
One of the highlights of my youth was being at the top of the half pipe with Tod at Brk I was a gaper but I didn’t care I was there!! With fricking Tod Richard’s the Voice of Snowboarding!!
Todd is the pure definition of a "professional snowboarder". His career highlights on a board matched with that personality..... very few have done it better than him!
Possibly the best one so far, guys! TR is so bloody authentic, it's an absolute pleasure to listen to all of this! Respect for being that straight up honest! Super funny, but also full of wisdom. Epic!!
If it wasn't for Jason Ellis bringing up Todd Richards interview at the olympics i would not have known about this channel and snowboarding was my life from 94 to 2005 until i broke my back tryin to film with friends on house rock at crested butte. Needed this thanks.
I’ve totally had some of my bests surfs hungover - that bit resonated with me… great episode, as a 40some year old boarder of 25 years this was so rad. Thank you Bombhole!
Todd’s witt is always great. I remember being at the Honda sessions and a rider fell on the stair set straight to their back. Without hesitation he told the crowd not to worry and that the stairs actually felt like a deep tissue massage.
Met Todd at SIA when me and my business partner sat down for an appointment in the Omatic booth. He was a legend and played it super cool. This episode was a lot of fun guys haha. Laughed through the whole thing.
Another sick ep. I grew up surfing everyday and skating a fair bit before discovering snowboarding at 21 and moving my whole life overseas to be in the mountains. I still watch a heap of surfing and hearing the trick names get butchered by most people in that industry is hard to take. Cheers to Todd for trying to educate.
Guys this is amazing… I’m only halfway through this but this interview is equalizing, nostalgic, clarifying and a breath of fresh air! TR, is really setting a good portion of the record straight… it’s almost like an epiphany from the rest of what’s going on in the snowboard world these days… I’ve been shredding since 1988 and this just feels like a validation of my own memories and thoughts now vocalized and supported by the feedback that you guys are discussing right now… I might comment later but I want to get back to the rest of this interview
probably someone hoping they would talk about Robot Food and Airblaster...i'm not saying i downvoted, but i understand. but that would probably need to be a second 3.5 hour interview!
Just an incredible video company and an incredible clothing company he was involved in. Robot Food's Afterbang and Lame are two of my all time favorites
@@backsideslash I knew he was involved with robot food, I didn’t know he had anything to do with air blaster though…. And yes those robot foods films were and still are amazing !

I love that Todd talked about us wanting better for our kids, wen is it to good? Pampering people has made us soft. I think that's why we generation x. It gets to a point were tuff love is nessecary, I don't have kids but finding that balance must be the hardest thing..

I thank Todd Richards. He posted some weak ass IG on Nick Sandman and asked if his parents were proud of him. I quit social media forever at that point. Todd’s smartest move was pulling that crap down. I learn a lot from Todd, we’re both Massholes to......
Such a G! According to my hetero life mate, T Rich once gave one of my cab 5 tail grabs a "w0000" while they were standing on the mound in Freeway at Breck circa 06. Literally the highlight of my "career"
TR is the fucking man, glad that some Audi talk snuck in at the end. Audi 90 will always be one of my favorite models I've owned. was a tank in the snow
Interesting aspects from TR (starting late to ride and being able to ride at 50+). Loved to ride his pro models when I was riding for Rossignol by myself in the early 2000s. By the way E Stone reminds me to a young Bud Spencer ;)
Funny idea about speed suits for superpipe. Maybe Ayumu will need to trade in the Tom Penny 1990s gangster look. On a side note, I was always impressed by Todd's hockey hair. If you Google it, you'll get an actual hockey played named Todd Richards who looks a little like Todd Richards the snowboarder.

Well that was the longest dump I've ever taken. Pro/notpro tip: tip to one side for 10sec, then the other, and you get the circulation back in your legs for a few more minutes :)
"Wachusett" 🤣, would be epic to run into TR there. Back in high school I got kicked out of ski-club for speeding there and my boy got thrown out for stealing a cheeseburger. That place is/was so ridiculous with their ski-patrol team. Any time they get a powder dump, they close the trails off and groom it immediately because they claim it's "dangerous" lol. If only they brought back a hand-dug 10-12 foot pipe at Wachusett to redeem themselves of past atrocities..
