    Steelseries has one key unique selling point when it comes to their keyboards - these Omni-point switches. I first reviewed these almost exactly three years ago and liked them a lot, and I’m happy to say they’ve gotten even better since then. Unlike the Wooting keyboards that used Flaretech optical switches with mirror elements, these Omni-point switches use magnets and hall effect sensors to know how far you’ve pressed any of the keys. That lets them do some pretty cool and unique features that very few other boards can offer.

    Hey, I have a question, am I the only whose had the problem with their apex pro mini spamming keys on its own? I got mine last week Saturday and got to use it Thursday. I didn't use I for not even 15 minutes before I went to bed. I came home from school the next day and my keyboard started spamming randomly letters and symbols in caps and everything. I downloaded the software to update it and it made the situation worse. Now my left shift doesn't work and I'm sending it back for a replacement.

      Experiencing the same issuew There’s no fix for this issue atm. Such shame for a 200 euro keyboard

      i dont believe its missing any keys, i got optical switches for the simple fact it removes the need for the scroll lock thing, wireless is massive when you have as many cables as me, still got the wired versoion, for £145 brand new, thanks for the review. this is my new forever board

    • @aaronpolster5696

      I don’t think you can, I think that you must have their software if you want to change the lighting

    Does this keyboard have the same function as the wooting boards where the switch resets as soon as you let go of it?

      @Elysian if steelseries adds the rapid fire feature, they will hands down dominate the fps gaming keyboard market

    • @Drew_HBK
      @Drew_HBK Год назад

      @Elysian didnt know they use the same tech. If they ever do that it will be huge just due to the supply issue with the wooting

    • @knockedtfout5333
      @knockedtfout5333 Год назад

      I know it’s insanely late but they finally added rapid trigger to the apex pro mini and the Apex pro mini on an Amazon sale is also 30-50 dollars cheaper than the whooting. There is finally REAL competition for the Whooting 60he.

    I don't know, it really comes a point where you can really build a good budget custom for the same money, I'm just not big in spending this money for a prebuilt, especially a 60%
    Feature is cool, but the switches themselves, meh, tried them and they aren't worth the money, money that you spend for the mechanism of course, cause they can afford boosting the price up since there's almost no competition
    And I'm not a keyboard enthusiast, I'm just stating my opinion, this is like the max I'd spend on any peripheral cause I don't need more

  • @johnmothtech
    @johnmothtech Год назад

    60% is not my game, need 65% at least but def prefer 1800 (96%) or full, that being said even if you like 60% this is just stupidly overpriced, imo should be less than half the price.
    However it is nice to see that someone is finally (!!!) implementing secondary layer remapping option, kudos there.
    IMO any keeb size that needs fn layers (ie. anything not full sized) needs to have this option! I'm sick of all the cheap "uber extreeme gaming keyboards" with bloody useless rgb and no secondary layer remapping option.
    Now if only instead of using bum grease on the switches (just make good switches) and adding "foam dampening", "snipping stabilizers" bla bla bla there were some useful options: an option for PBT or POM keycaps (best have both options), hotswap sockets, 3-4 spare switches, dual or triple height feet, easy outside access for removal of the battery...
