I watched this a while back before it got popular... I’m so happy it will have a season 3. Although the original story went quite a bit differently than they did in the animation, I enjoy both lol. I mean it’s got such great songs too...

It's basically the chinese The Misfit of Demon King Academy.. i cannot believe that Garnt, Joey and the others have never seen it. Its easily of of the best guilty pleasure chinese anime out there, the visuals and animation are gorgeous, cool soundtrack, the subtitle could be better! All in all, I would love to watch another season if netflix decides to renew it.🎆🎇🎇🎆

An example of a immortal cultivation story in japanese anime would be the entire dragonball franchise where goku went from a kid to being a god

There are many amazing 3d and 2d Chinese anime out there which better than this. For 2d, A Will Eternal, Spare Me Great Lord, The King's Avatar are better than this.
This anime is amazing I definitely recommend it to everyone he's a really cool MC obviously OP the graphics are beautiful and the other characters are also really cool as well along with the unique storyline 10/10 but that's just my own personal opinion I did however really enjoy this anime

Chinese anime are mostly adapted from novel, novel/Web novel is the thing in China, manhua kind of niche. And many manhua also adapted from novel, but change quite a lot of the plot.
This show is funny and awesomely bad. It's like the Chinese animators are saying we are going to steal every trope in the genre and a few from others along with characters and there is nothing you can do about it. It has billi billi references all the way through it along with gems hidden in the background. If you are a fan of anime the Gintama type humor is great.
I think the reason why this anime got popular is that it's so... typical? Which is why it appeals to a wider audience. The anime is better than the manhua tho, so I gotta give them credit for changing the flow of events
After seeing this, I guess no anime tubes have ever read any manhuas at all. Almost every cultivation manhua mcs are one punch man and many many times more powerful. Also, Chinese anime = Donghua. Finally, as these youtubers don't know the blessings of heaven and earth, they are..... *COURTING DEATH!* JK. Also also, even if cultivation mcs shows their power no mobs will believe it, even in the slightest.

Problem is that these anitubers are contracted and basically work for a subsidiary of Kadokawa, so it makes sense that Netflix is gonna want to pair up and do business with the big players. I agree with you, but this seems like a pure business decision, not meant to showcase anitubers, but more for the promotion of its shows.
