Agree with everything. If you look at the in-car footage, you can actually see in the upper left area of the tablet I have a throttle bar, and I have footage of that, but I learned that with the stabilization of the GoPro turned on it shifts around on the screen too much for me to crop it out and use it. I'm on it though!
@@TheCarPassionChannel I'm not an expert or anything but if you log your trip on MS, can't you make an animation of the throttle log? (And any other data you wish.)
Intro: very good idea the 8bit style with chiptune, loved it During clips: cool idea the overlay with the gears, nice to see you driving it that hard, i really did appreciate the clips with the turbo and exhaust manifold on the camera + all the rest was just amazing. You are good at driving imho, i have been to nurburgring at nordscheleife. You're also good at heel toeing ( i don't know if that is the proper translation ) Anyway, good work man, you are inspiring and entertaining at the same time

It would be crazy if you could screen capture your megasuirt dash and overlay it on a video! Thank you Grag i
This was such a cool idea. I'm so stoked to see the miata in its home territory with the power goal achieved that you set out for 2 years ago. Way to go man!!!
So glad that you took a drive in the hills. It is really irritating to see guys doing car mods only to go to the drag strip and do quarter mile runs. Great content and thanks for all the vids. over the years. Your channel is the go to place for any Miata/MX5 owner even mildly interested in tuning their own car.I think it is safe to say that if it was'nt for Car Passion Channel so many of us guys and girls out there would never have attempted working on our own cars. Big thumbs up for your time and passion.
Greg, you are doing a fantastic job. That was a FANTASTIC driving video. Please don't feel the need to push on the street for the channel. I'll never post half the videos I've recorded. 100% agree with your take. My car started at 90whp and setting the rear bar on kill has allowed me to learn to drive it sideways at triple the stock HP. Be safe. Great work.
I CAN LITERALLY WATCH THIS ALL DAY. The sounds, the camera angles, seeing the wastegate working on the turbo is just fucking cool. Very good at heel toeing BTW.
This is everything I want in a RUclips video. From the video game effects to the pedal footage, and gear selection. Everything is so good. Only thing that would make this better would be on a track, with an announcer talking smack about your driving skills. It would be hilarious. But that is adding a whole bunch of variables to making a simple RUclips video. So I understand. This was absolutely great
I'm building an na miata. I have all the parts i need turbo it it takes so long to put everything together when you can only work a couple hours at a time on it. Everytime I feel like I'm not getting anywhere and I feel like it's a waste of time and money all I have to do Is watch these canyon runs and I quickly remember why I'm turbocharging my car. There's no replacement for the way a fast good handling car drives. Thanks greg for the inspiration and the passion for the love of quick cars!
@@My68Tempest brought a standard Na couple months back and can confirm the dipstick handle was mysteriously gone, understandably tho the last owner all of 75 yrs old was using it to drag race to the co op for break n milk
Just watched this wish I had watched sooner. Loved the video game feel in the beginning especially stage select screen, 8 bit music and sound was great. Multiple cameras awesome especially pedals. Shifter overlay helps. Only thing I could think might be cool is drone footage overhead show the whole course or maybe a second chase miata.
Easily one of the best miata run videos on RUclips right now. Love all the angles and pedal view. And also that boost gauge view. It's not just a data overlay but the real time video. Love it!!
Miata dad comin through with another sick twisty road run. I enjoyed the turbo overlay, liked how you could see the turbo ramp up when you were on the throttle.
Greg, I loved watching the boost guage! It was mesmerizing! Your lag time between shifts is over so fast you barely miss a naturally aspirated engine! Your foot work was also interesting. But I was fascinated by the glowing manifold and turbo! I had no idea they got so hot!
I love the show of the shifting the petal box and showing the front view as well as the steering, it was really good, shows me what I need to do to hell out my drive with my miata
Catching up on your older video's, this shows that even with the big power the smooth delivery is a great balance to complement the chassis and it hooks on the twisty stuff!
I think a lot of comments already have brought up some good places to improve the quality of content so I just want to say that watching your channel has definitely made my own build ideas and current projects attainable. Thank you for the inspiration🙏
This gives my the same vibes as the video that got me into miatas and your channel. The one where you were chasing down the motorcycle. You've come a long way and I've loved every minute of your journey. You inspire so many people in ways you can't possibly know.
That was awesome Greg, for the overlay stuff, you should be able to start a log on your dash, then import it into your PC later, screen cap on pc and sync up the time. That way you can customize the look of those things too! Love everything about this video, obviously a lot of effort went in, and damn that car is so nice man. So happy to see everything has come together so nicely for you. I don't think you ruined it at all. It looks awesome to drive.
Yes, he could export his datalog from the MS into CSV and import it into RaceRender and sync it up, which would be cool to see everything from his ECU's perspective. He killed it on this video. I'm not even a Miata guy and he always puts out killer content.
Love the intro and the 8bit gaming references. This video was great. It be cool to see the car from the chasing perspective especially going through the corners to get a feeling of how fast you go through those corners and watch the Miata disappear when you get into the corners.
Simply the best miata or even the best car content you can crave for. All the overlays you did were chosen good and i think you should keep em. but id love to see you on a racetrack with all this footage you can provide, maybe take dragy data as well for speed (on the racetrack) and data from megasquirt about temperatures. These are just suggestions though, seriously Greg your content is golden
Awesome video. Love the gear indicator overlay. You are driving the shit out of it and it's amazing to watch. It's so obvious you know the car and you've grown with the car.
Dude, i cant beleive i never watched this channel. You have built an extremely well balanced car and it looks like the perfect sized turbo for your application. As for people saying put a bigger turbo on... you've probably never driven a 2200lb car with 500hp.... its fucking quick. Fantastic and well thought out build. Well done.

I liked ALL of the overlays in the video. I liked watching the heel-toe downshifting and the shots of the turbo glowing under the hood the most.🤤 awesome job!
Great road. Nice job with the camera on your footwork, engine bay, shifting and POV. We don’t have a circuit track here on Maui so those types of roads are my happy place. Looked like a blast🤙
Thank you for the awesome driving video! I loved all the different angles including the cabin, footwell. An improvement I think you can do is, possibly do some voiceover, talking about what was going through your head at that certain moment. Kinda like best motoring does.
A huuuge thumps up Greg! That intro is so cool and brings me back to the early 90's when that graphics were superb! I think it's totally fine to do some spirited driving on public roads, as long as one is focused and aware of surroundings and conditions of the street and car. I think you're doing well, and I have lots of respect for you because you clearly talk about the complains and criticism about your driving on the road. Keep up your work, I'm looking forward to see new touge vids from you!

Greg- that was stupendously fast! If I drove my NB turbo like that here in Aus they'd lock me up and throw away the key. Awesome video, awesome channel, you are a source of inspiration and great assistance. Keep it up.
Loved the intro! Really enjoyed the engine bay cam, and the pedal box view. I'd love to see a GoPro stuck down in the front wheel wells so we can see suspension articulation, tire deflection, steering movement, etc.
Those camera angles....all multiples were sick...Kudos Sir...Just awesome driving and camera...Your MIATA IS SICK..never to much power....early subscriber....keep it goin' man..
Best video I've seen in a while. The camera angles are on point. Especially the manifold/turbo camera. first time seeing the turbosmart wastegate doing it's thing. The manifold was glowing red screaming for Mercy. Man, that car in the tail of the dragon would be a death trap, especially for people with no smooth throttle. I would love to hear more commentary on the feel of the car in the turns, feedback from brake, traction limit, etc. Hopefully you can go to an autocross or a track day after this pandemic. This Miata can start breaking lap records.
Your car is rly awesome man it’s so clean and you honestly deserve so much more subscribers and popularity than you have, like such a good teacher and like so important to not only the miata scene but the car scene in general, I wish there was more car guys like you, like ur inspiring to watch man, keep doing what ur doing.
Damn... The video is so good... the glowing manifold, the sound of the turbo, all camera angles... it looks like it’s a lot of work but man, so good to watch and hear ! I don’t have any ideas on how to make it better, I let you figure it out 😉 Like you said, your Miata is an absolut weapon on roads like this ! I hope someday mine gets like half the level of yours, and I would be happy ! Great job man ! Peace from France 👍😎
Looove the intro and the video. Loved that you are thinking of traffic and pedestrians and keeping things under control. The Best Motoring gear overlay is *chef kiss*. Watching the driving footage, the car is obviously scary fast and at this point hilariously overpowered for many of our tighter LA area canyons. It feels like as far as speed goes, you've arrived. I'd actually love to see you start to make content focusing on chassis and suspension tuning. Maybe comparing some different brace setups side by side, maybe trying some seam welding. A lot of us miata owners are have been comparing stuff like this for years in stock cars and more lightly modified turbos, but I haven't seen a ton of 400hp miatas really sorting out what the best frame rail setup is, or talking about poly vs rubber suspension bushings. Forgive me if you've covered any of that before... but even if you have, have you covered it at 400hp??! It feels like some conventional wisdom might start to give way at these power levels. And I want YOU to find out!
Greg, I have 400 wheel torque at 3000 rpm, I totally agree with everything you said about power band. Also for the people with stock miatas, ls2 Miata owner here. For the street Im always grabbing my stock (horsepower) 94 NA8 keys over The 94 ls2 Miata. Something about driving a slow car fast is just 200% more fun. Don’t worry about power numbers, just go out & zoom!
Awesome intro! Keep it for all your runs. Loved the camera angles, maybe an exhaust shot? Best motoring close tach shot always gave good impression of how fast and smooth the engine revved. Overall the best video to date imo and I’ve been here since the beginning.
Loved this video, the intro got me very interested and the different camera angles along with the gauges and pedal cam just upped the quality way more than I was expecting at all. Well done and I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next videos. You are obviously very knowledgeable and it shows keep it up!
driver cam would be interesting also exhaust tip camera? coilover camera to see the rebound and shock going through it exterior camera aiming at the rear wheel showing whenever traction is lost and its fun to watch with the road lines frond bumper low mount camera for sense of speed/ go kart feel
awesome content as usual, "craig". digging the intro. can't tell which pov i like better - they're all pretty cool. definitely enjoy the shifting overlay.
All the different elements of the video were interesting, but the mainly uncluttered view of the driving cams in the end half of the video was a great way to round it out. When I read the title about ruining the touge drive with too much power, I wondered if you had considered an NA (naturally aspirated) build ?(money & garage space notwithstanding)
Beautiful video Greg, You should come in italy... we have perfect roads to do this kind of things. The heel n toe, brightness of headers, the wastegate work, turbo spools and the car is so fast and has so much traction.. is awesome. The intro is perfect but to maximize our experience you I advise a camera on the exhaust. But very nice format!
Would love to see a shot or two from the inner fender of the tire and suspension working like when you are turning. Like they do on open wheeled vehicles. Love seeing fast Miatas.
Dude! Love the video! Keep them coming! The only angle I really want to see is set up a go pro up on the hardtop window on the inside, facing the front of the car, to see like a full cockpit view! That would be SWEET I used to do that on some scca videos i did with my miata
Damn, that looks really fast 🚗 💨. Maybe It would be nice to have some talking while you drive like in best motoring? But maybe they talk in Best Motoring because they’re driving other people’s cars. I think seeing other screen pop on and off is cool for sure. Having some outside shots of your car would be a added bonus. Love the retro game intro!
Dude!!!! Awesome video. It truly inspires me to finish my na turbo build. I can't wait to hit me some canyon runs up here in Cheyenne. Ty,ty,ty,!! Keep them coming fella! Some megasquirt stuff would also be cool.

I would love to hear more commentary on the feel of the car in the turns, feedback from brake, traction limit, etc. Hopefully you can go to an autocross or a track day after this pandemic. This Miata can start breaking lap records.
Is this the best video out this year or what !!!
Fantastic everything is truly brilliant in this video
Thumbs up for classic video game intro! And the first 5 minutes was awesome, more of that, please.
Wow that editing was the best content ive seen in a long time. You're a talented content creator both in the garage and behind the scenes.
The intro was awesome. I loved the whole video and appreciate the build for driving curves rather than pure power numbers or drag racing.
Glad to see your car running and driving well. I know it’s been a lot of work. Man that thing sticks in the corners. Be safe out there.
10/10 would watch again. Killer intro and so awesome to see you ripping that car.
Coming back to watch this always makes me wanna boost my NB, but at the same time ITBs sound like an awesome idea too
That intro 👏👏👏👌👌. And to see this beast tearing up the mountain. 👏👏👏👌👌👌
Very cool video. Starting with a video game theme than a mix of best motoring and options videos and all MIATA 😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Epic footage! Car looks really well balanced. Didn't like the front bumper footage too much. Big fan of the engine bay, cabin, and POV footage
REALLY enjoyed this content. Please more like it.
Awesome intro! Keep it for all your runs.
Loved the camera angles, maybe an exhaust shot? Best motoring close tach shot always gave good impression of how fast and smooth the engine revved. Overall the best video to date imo and I’ve been here since the beginning.
These are great and never get old. More. Anytime. Intro is top notch.
That heel toe downshift is on point. Nice driving!
Loved this video, the intro got me very interested and the different camera angles along with the gauges and pedal cam just upped the quality way more than I was expecting at all. Well done and I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next videos. You are obviously very knowledgeable and it shows keep it up!
driver cam would be interesting
also exhaust tip camera?
coilover camera to see the rebound and shock going through it
exterior camera aiming at the rear wheel showing whenever traction is lost and its fun to watch with the road lines
frond bumper low mount camera for sense of speed/ go kart feel
awesome content as usual, "craig". digging the intro.
can't tell which pov i like better - they're all pretty cool. definitely enjoy the shifting overlay.
What to change, Nothing keep it the same and post more. 💪
Beautiful video Greg,
You should come in italy... we have perfect roads to do this kind of things.
100% This intro... the views and the camera angle ... fucking awesome.
The time and effort you put Into everything you do be it your miata or your editing and video quality you do your absolute best and I respect that immensely! My dad always said if you are going to do something do it right. And you sir are doing it right! Mad props man I've been following you sense the channel was called broke and boosted, even though I didn't have a miata at the time I loved the videos and now that I do I'm going back and rewatching everything my dude! Thank you for everything you do!
I was actually laughing out loud in public w headphones on over how ridiculously fast this car is. What a build! And the fact that you are able to drive it on public roads to. Jeez..! Well done! Lucky man, enjoy!
Love your content, thanks for all the time and effort. Thought the multicam angles were great.
Great content!!! I like everything, the intro, cameras angles, the noises of that turbo and the handling.
Your driving style reminds me a lot of my own and that first part of the video was pure driving bliss
love this road, so much fun. ive had some close calls on it not going anywhere near as fast as you. good shit dude
