I surf in Westport every time i visit family there, 1-2x a year usually. I've found I either get incredibly fun, uncrowded waves with sun and offshore winds, or it's completely blown out for the entire week I'm there. No in-between. It's amazing when good, but not ridable when it's not.
I have tried West Port three times over the last 5 years or so, and I always see the 'unride-able' blown out version. (School of hard knocks when I"m in the water, but a good test for my wetsuit.) I think Westport is not worth the drive unless you purposely plan your trip around the weather and swell forecast within 2 or 3 days, or less. Because the wind is brutal out there most of the time. And it seems low-tide is not beginner friendly, but high-tide might be.
How do i help out with these surf camps. I havent surfed in years cuz i was told u cant surf here in Washington state. It would help me by helping the youth learn to surf. I need toget back into the ocean
@@FawknHayn2986 My kid moved down to Washington. He lives in Puyallup and surfs quite frequently. I paddle out with him whenever I’m down to visit. Easy drive to Westport or La push. I guess you just have to want it 🤷🏽♂️👍🏾
@@rasputinspickledpeepee1976 Ha! Right? At least this guy in the vid drives a pickup truck... Protiip though, I bought my Patagucci wetsuits used on eBay, $120...instead of $550. Aside from the dumb brand name , the R4 lined hooded fullsuits are super warm!

It's too cold to be surfing in Wesport. The water is not warm.

I love everything about surfing in Washington. Cold, fickle, gorgeous and always rewarding.

I surf weekly at Westport! How can I join the club?
Does anyone take a boat to surf the off limits areas near the reservations?
No, I do my best to respect the treaty rights and sovereignty of the local indigenous tribes. I suggest you do the same, you King County Liberal.
your not too bright are you?
@@pzarelli75 you aren't either lol...its a valid question
You definitely triggered the non-binary crowd with this comment😂
looks like surfing in the northeast except in Washington the water is warmer, the waves are better, its not as windy and its less crowded
I don't think the water is much warmer in Washington. Our water temperature is usually around 48-52° F
I grew up in WA. Live in SoCal since 86’. They can have each and every rideable set wave that happens as often as the eclipse.
Sick !
hey that’s my friends vw bus in the beginning😅😂

Why are u bringing in climate change at the end? You are the one driving an old ford at 80$ in gas one way. Just so u can catch 3 waves.
