One of the few good things about The Internet, you can find gems like Maynard/Tool. I'm 34 so back when even if I had of got on to them my mind would not been able to appreciate The messages that were being sent out.

I named my oldest son after maynerd James Keenan we put names in a hat and we pulled Maynard out but I changed it to Keanan instead spell it a little different but it's a fun story for him to tell his friends on how he was named after a kick ass rockstar

rjonzen34 Tom Morello not on the same intellect? Dude is a Harvard Grad! He’s on the same level, if not higher than Maynard. They just both come from different schools of expression, Maynard from the Art World and Morello from the Punk Metal world. Certainly doesn’t hurt that they’re both from the Midwest and that Adam Jones was Morello’s high school chum and bandmate for a time back then.
Pretty crazy that they both (Jones & Morello) end up in Los Angeles and both end up in successful and influential bands. The odds of that happening from a small town in Illinois had to have been astronomical.

I'm not sure, I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but i heard that Maynard's not really the guy that uses his political opinion for his music, for him it's mirr about the art, while it's important for Tom Morello to be an activist, since it's his intention behind the whole RATM and Prophets Of Rage Career. it's only an explanation that just came to my mind, but it makes sense to me...
