Great tip. I used to use a deep pot for cooking ground beef etc. when I cooked on a gas stove top. I did have a small grease fire once when a piece of meat flipped out of the skillet into the flame. That was scary. Thanks for the tip and great video once again.

same here. no idea that is what that hole was for. also I had no idea I didn't have to use a frying pan. wow I will definitely have to start using a bigger pot to fry ground beef and stuff like that. Thanks so much.

Great tips! I thought cooking ground beef in a pot would make it steam instead of brown, but I was evidently wrong. No more cleaning up beef that's flipped out of the skillet. Skylar's tip was XLNT, too! You both rock!

Thanks! I've done this for a long time and never had any problems with the meat steaming instead of sautéing. I will say though, I use a thicker bottom pot

You should consider the instant pot. It has so many features to cook meats or other things. It’s awesome ! I’m VIP very small central vision and horrible at that with no peripheral

My wife and I actually just got and instant pot knock off. It does the same things but was a little cheaper. We’ve used it several times now and, every single time I am amazed! I cooked a whole chicken in 20 minutes and it was fall off the bone delicious!

Very good tip. I don't know if that pan would fit in my sink.

It doesn't fit and mine either! I have to tilt it at a weird angle to try and clean it, LOL

The spoon in the fry pan handle hole is a good tip. May I share on legally blind geek fb page?

I like this tip. Any hints for knowing what knob for which burner? I can't read it unless my eyes are about 4 inches away and if a burner is already hot, I can't lean in. Same for the oven.

The only thing I can recommend is just to take some time and memorize which dial controls which burner. Usually on a stove with four burners, the first and fourth dial control the front burners while the middle two dials control the back burners. As far as tips for setting the temperature of the burners or the oven, I use bump dots. I have a digital display for my oven so I put the bump dots on some of the important buttons. Bake, temperature up and down, start and stop. With the dots on those buttons I'm able to locate all the other buttons I need using the dots as landmarks. Dots work well on the dials for the burners as well. You can put a dot at a certain temperature that you like to cook at, 375 for example, then just turn the dial until it's pointing at the bump..

No problem, I'm glad you asked! I'm not totally blind, I have low vision and with the help of low vision aids and special software for my computer I'm able to make and edit my videos! Also I should mention that there are several totally blind RUclipsrs making videos successfully! You'd be surprised how technology helps us do all sorts of things!
