It could also be very beneficial to all North American folks to cover the opening of a bank account and how Spain banks (like BBVA, Sabadell, etc) operate. It was indeed a very different experience for us compared to what we’ve been used to in the States.
With regards to your ASSSA insurance what level of cover did you sign up for I.e Basic, Standard, Plus etc. Also do spain require you to have a particular plan to be fully covered in there eyes. Once again another informative video and very helpful.
Thank you. I am on the standard plan currently. I would assume there is a minimum plan that the authorities require. The insurance agents wouldn't sell you anything less that what is required by immigration. Their business revolves around expat health insurance. They also offer dental, which I did not take. Dental work is very affordable here. Prescriptions are extremely affordable here also without drug coverage (which I'm not sure they even offer.
Thank you very much; very helpful. I guess I have a lot of questions, but first; I was wondering; now that you’re a resident of Benidorm, did you have to go through Alicante City’s Exteranjeria or you applied for renewal in your previous city of residential?
Hi, I have just applied for my NLV visa (working with JustLaw as well) and moving to Malaga. Question: When you received your visa how long was it valid for before you left for Spain? I have seen blogs that the visa is valid for 104 days (3 1/2 months) at first and then once in Spain you you get the TIE valid for 1 year. Can you please confirm that. I am moving from US.
Hi, you have about 90 days to get to Spain, once you receive your visa. I haven't heard of 104 days, but it's only an extra two weeks. Maybe it depends on when they are approved within the month. Once in Spain and you obtain your TIE you have one year , which you can renew for an additional two years.
@@TheEmptyMiddleSeatTravel Thanks! So How long is the VISA duration in your passport the first time its issued? The reason I ask is after I filed my application I got a confirmation code and email from consular, check it on the visa tracking site, downloaded the app they posted and the dates I saw was for 3 1/2 months. Can you please confirm your visa duration please.
@@TheEmptyMiddleSeatTravel Cool. I just sent you an email with the link to the blog I mentioned. Very detail information on NLV process from Consular in Los Angeles. Hope to meet you soon when in Malaga!
Thanks for taking the time to do these vids We are planning a NLV move to southern Spain from N.B. next year.
My pleasure. Good luck with the move
Thank you for all of these informative videos. Would you please do a video on how to use Wise for transfers from North America?
That's a great idea, I will look into that.

Sounds complicated. LOl
Get a good lawyer to simplify the process. That is what we are intending to do since we are coming from Australia
