This version sounds great! But hey come on, people, I for one think MM7's whole original soundtrack is a masterwork. Still... this version does have more of an 'umph' to it than the original. A very awesome undeniable 'umph'.
Thanks bro, I do those "karaoke" sections after a couple of loops on pretty much all of my remixes these days. I was always fascinated with hearing different layers of songs when I used to go to sound tests on a Genesis emulator like on the Streets of Rage games. It allows you to realise the full depth of the song without stuff being drowned out
This is what I like about Genesis music: Instruments that actually punch, especially that bass. Mega Man 7 has a great soundtrack, but it suffers from the same issue that I have with a lot of SNES music as a whole, which is that the instrumentd feel like they're missing something
This is where they started to go nuts with the Robot Master designs. Before 6, 7, and 8, they kept it simple, with a few exceptions. Napalm Man comes to mind. Sick ass cover though. You did great work.
I think it could be agreed on that MM7's soundtrack's problem is with its soundfont. A lot of its songs are great, but its Wily themes (daresay ALL of them) are brilliant. Oh, and the boss and Wily boss themes too.
idk the original soundfont fit the themes pretty well. like if you put the mm7 themes into 8 bit like most of the series there's a very distinct rhythm and tone to them that becomes apparent and this tone allows them to wear the MM7 soundfont well.
I agree entirely. I think MM7 has one of the better soundtracks in the series. I'm surprised a lot of people couldn't love themes like Cloud Man, Freeze Man, Spring Man or Slash man in particular!
Dat frigging bass! This sounds SO good! Burst Man's stage is my favorite. Never thought it could be done like this, but you sir did a wonderful job of making this frigging orgasmic! Ho ho, and i see you improvised a part of removing a couple channels so the bass and drum could speak for itself. That is cool shit, I wish the actual song did that. I gotta hand it to you, this was a labour of a love and it shows.
I hear you, ha ha, if I knew how to do shit like this, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and remix the Stage 4 theme from the NES version of TMNT the Arcade Game using the Turtles in Time soundfont. Either way, I love the fact that this remix just makes the bass thump, I give you mad props for pulling this off and making it sound even better than the SNES version. I can seriously imagine this being in a Sega Genesis version of Mega Man 7 if it were to have ever been made.
Yeah, I never was too fond of MM7's soundtrack. They were okay, but there were so many better songs in the series. Only Slash Man's stage really stood out to me. But listening to these mixes, hellz yeah they sound more interesting! I especially like how at 1:40 to 2:30, you removed a sound channel (I think that's what you call it?), giving it a nice little effect. Greak work!
Bubble man: NOO YOU CANT JUST KEEP POPPING
MY BUBBLE LEAD THATS MY MAIN WEAPON
Burstman: haha bubble go pop boom pop
i like this one better than original son

Sega always brings in the "punch" with its soundchip
Ah man, this guy is definitely my favorite out of this bunch. Love this version of the tune.

MM7's instrument choices were so weak. Thanks for confirming this, LegendOfRenegade.

This is so excellent. I would thumb up but the buttons don't seem to work today.
