#DIY #woodworking #charcuterieboards
those are beautiful!I love how you broke down the process and showed each step, right down to the type of wax to use and your recommendation! I love how the family helps out, many hands make light work!
Yeah! I love having everyone pitch in on these projects.
Those boards with the extra rough edges were probably from trees that were skid scarred where logs being skidded out of the woods from a current or past logging scraped against them or another possibility is storm or wind damaged limb wood. These are exactly the boards I plan on making I have thousands of live edge pieces cut to make furniture and other projects like this. Great video!
Thanks, Mitch. That’s what I thought it might be
These boards look absolutely stunning!! Incredible work!
Thanks TB Team! Can’t say enough good things about the new Wood Honey finish
Great works as always, Kris! Love getting the whole fam involved!
Thanks, Joe. It’s a great Having my kids out in the shop
Interesting to see the breakdown. Thanks for sharing and the boards are beautiful!
Thanks, Bruce!
Nice work! It's cool to see your whole family working on a project like that
3 out of 5 😜 gotta spread out the work load.
This is a pretty awesome video and format. Keep up the good work.
Love your content.
I really enjoyed this video. Subscribed! 👍🏿
Thanks RSBI!
Loved the video!
Two weeks ago, Josh… Two weeks ago! I thought we were friends
@@furthernorthfab better late than never, my sweet baby boi.
Love this style video. Very helpful. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! Yeah, I have been wanting to film a video like this for a while, but glad I waited until we had this many to do
Thank you so much for including the actual cost break down! As a hobbyist wood worker looking to grow my hobby into a side business, this is invaluable information!!! Additionally, what kind of laser do you use for engraving?
I’m so glad it helped! It’s an Opt Laser. Awesome add on
Great video Kris... love that it was a family affair
I love it when they get involved! It’s a lot more fun than working alone
Lovely! I always enjoy seeing the process of items being made. These boards look amazing!
Thanks, Katherine!
"Okay. I don't know what im doing! 😬" - that was adorable 😅
Haha. I had to leave that in 😜
MY FAVORITE LUMBER IN THE WORLD. THANKS FOR POSTING. I HAVE 3 WALNUT BOARDS.
Wonderful
I can't thank you enough for your real life figures. But did you forget your shipping and transaction costs?
Glad it helped! The boards were delivered locally and I got a e-transfer for the funds, so I didn’t have to worry about transaction costs. In the past I’ve used PayPal, which isn’t the lease expensive transaction method.
I love the video and like others am thankful for the break down of figures. 1) Also am curious about the glue gun part?? I didn't follow what you were doing maybe you or someone else can tell me about that. I am new to building and enjoy learning everything I can from others and seeing how you can achieve the same look doing different techniques. 2) Could you also tell us where you get your "craft" lumber????
It’s a Rangate if you want to Google it. My local hardwood dealer often has a decent stock of this live edge walnut.
If I had to choose between sanding 80 boards and having a broken iPhone I would be mailing to my closest friends 😂. Great video tho 🤙🏼
You are so adorable. Great video.
My day is complete. THEE Josh Kellert commented on my video.
Cool process! Curious how that tinted hot glue holds up for finishing and overall durability. Is it soft to the touch once dried?
Keep in mind that’s not a regular glue stick, So it dries super hard and I let use it for smaller imperfections. We have a board in our kitchen that has some on it and it’s lasted sever years of heavy use. At the end of the day, I would suggest epoxy first.
No B roll? I wanted to see the finished boards lol, nice job though...i imagine.
Haha. My bad. The boards got delivered before I could film the B roll… on the travesty
Great project, What kinda wood did you use? Thanks
It’s all walnut. Thanks for watching.
How did this order you received come about....did you advertise or was it just by chance? BTW Thanks Great Video
I network a lot with Realtors. They are amazing connections for this sort of work.
Just subscribed. You channel looks very interesting and you seem to have an interesting skill set in light of your profession. (I can relate to that.) How long did it take to get used to working and tinting epoxy? I'm going to need to learn how to use it on a smaller scale to fill in voids around knots -- walnutttttt!
Thanks for the sub! I’m no stranger to messing up epoxy, it’s not super complicated but definitely make sure you get your volumes measurements done correctly
Boards came out great! Just curious, how did you get the commissions? That’s a ton of charcuterie boards to make for one single client. Awesome work though, love seeing the costs, price, etc!
Thanks Tyler! Realtors… I network a ton with them in my day job so it’s a natural connection. If you know any, make them a sample board for them as a gift.
Great video! I sell similar boards but I find my clients are wanting feet and handles. Do you run into that request? I would love to skip the handles since i prefer to just see the grain of the walnut. Are you able to sell to your real estate connections ?
When I was focused on selling produce, yes I was able to sell to a lot of the Realtors I deal with. I have a few that want handles but I charge a lot more for those.
Great job, good explanation, but all those boards laid flat which means you skipped the step (for the viewer) of planing
Thanks, But The board were not planed. The stock was super flat so it didn’t need to be planed.
these are worth about 30 eur in estonia.
9.20 ahh bribery and child slave labour sold as a favour to help purchase replacement phone - love it 😀 use this tactic with my own kids 😆
Haha. My kids LOVE IT when we get large board orders. Pays way better then allowance.
