    For a solar generator, I’m looking to get a 500W Bluetti . It accepts most solar panel setups and batteries has a higher recharge discharge rate . The AC DC converter is not as good as yours but I plan to run 12 DC anyway as there are less power conversion loses anyway. Thanks for sharing 👍

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  2 года назад

      The Bluetti is a good and respectful brand and was on my short list. I ended up getting the jackery because was on sale and the size was perfect to fit inside the LL rear storage box. All great luxury items that become essentials. I've got to look at one of those mosquito repellers. Used my Little Buddy Heater 3 nights this week. With the Mini Mate, I put it in the add-a-room with the tent door open. Only for a couple of hours and never overnight although they will just have used all the gas in 4 hrs. and a bit. Firm believer in solar power systems. Sometimes you just want to be in the booies for days.

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  2 года назад +2

      Indeed right? We get used to the “luxuries” of life and very shortly they become standard or essentials. As far as solar systems, I am sure you still feel that satisfaction or excitement seeing Mr sun doing its job for free. I am hoping to get one more trip before the snow comes down here in the west coast. Thanks for stopping by buddy, I appreciate and respect your feedback as always. Cheers, Eddie.

    Self inflating mattress!?! What witchcraft is this!
    That heater with all its built in safety features is pretty slick.

    The solar panels are almost a must nowadays. Curious 🧐 why you didn’t go with Jackery’s panels?

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  2 года назад +3

      The mosquito repeller works like a charm ! I only used for two evenings during supper and beer time and really keeps the buggers away. (no noise nor smell hence much better than spraying ourselves with deet) As far as the solar panel, great question ! Jackery is like the Toyota or Honda (high quality) however they use a specific and odd ball plug size (like an Apple phone) so makes the panel 100% dedicated to their products. The Dokio in another hand is generic (line an Android phone) plus comes with the solar charger controller that allows me to use just the panel if ever need it or use it with other solar generators / battery packs. Finally the Jackery panel was like double the price and much heavier. Thanks for stopping by brother ! I really appreciate you time and support. Eddie

      Great to hear Emily ! Yes, those are indeed awesome *camping* gadgets and have been a game changer for me. I hear about the blow up mattresses as some tend to deflate throughout the night or can be easily punched. If you are are planning to go camping with a car then I would recommend a 6" gel pad (or topper) that you can buy at costco or anywhere online. Yes the *Jackery* is an amazing and very handy to keep everything charged up. I am glad you liked it and stopped by. Happy Holidays and a HNY ! Eddie

    Thanks for an informative video.
    I was curious about the Jackery charging method you mentioned. So are you saying that not only can you charge the Jackery 300 using the as stated Input jack on the unit but you can also use the USB-C, USB and house plug ports as input charging ports as well?
    If this is the case I find that interesting and nice to know I’ve got other options in case I lose a cord. Do you know if this is the case for say the Jackery 240 and or the Jackery 500?
    In reading up on the Thermarest Mondoking 3D mattress I found it to be well built, simple to pack and extremely lightweight. Especially when you compare the weight to my current inflatable mattress at 15 lbs.
    The only drawback is the price and the fact that I would need to purchase 2 of them as I travel with my wife. I will definitely be adding this mattress to my camping list wants.
    ✌🏽🇺🇸🙏

      Thanks 🙏🏻 a lot for stopping by ! About the Jackery question …. Yes 🙌! You can use one or all ports to charge it, hence reducing the time to get it back to 100%. If you are at home for example, you can use the Jackery wall plug and an iPhone USBc to speed it up. The older version weren’t able to do it but I believe all units (different sizes) can since 2021.

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  Год назад +1

      I am not too sure about the 240 but the 500 should be fine. (A clue is to check if the unit that you are interested in has the USBc outlet)

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  Год назад +1

      About the ThermaRest mattress, yes, it was an awesome addition to my gear. Not cheap by all means but I have to confess that I sleep better while camping than on my own bed. Another option is the Exped Megamat which seems to be comparable to mine. (Both are 4” thick and have a good R factor)

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  Год назад +1

      Oh yes, I bought two as well. Some brands have a double size mattress but …. If you guys are travelling together and something goes haywire you both will sleep on the ground. Having two at least YOU will be the only one sleeping on the ground ! 😂 (also if you are travelling alone you can only bring one so saves weight)

      Hello Gloria ! Lees-Ure Lite was bought out by SLT TRailers but they are still manufacturing the same unit (actually with some improvements) under the name of Excel II. (The original model from Lees-Ure Lite was called Excel). Below is the link for the dealers in USA. Please let me know if you have further questions. Eddie

    Will the Jackery 300 run a cpap machine? I have to rig my Leesure-Lite for off grid power for my machine.
    Our current (pun intended) option is a battery, inverter & solar panel. But the Jackery looks more compact & portable.

    • @WindyTherapy

    What is the overall weight of your trailer with equipment when fully loaded? Thanks

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  Год назад

      The last time I stopped at a highway scale I was surprised to see 450 lbs / 200 kgs which explains why the bike was struggling up hill. Realistically, the TTSE is designed for acceleration and speed so torque isn’t the greatest. Since then, I removed some extra (heavier) items so I am estimating to be 50 lbs / 23 kgs lighter.

    Can you tell me Eddie, do you have any storage inside the trailer when it's in towing mode. I know you have the roof rack, but what about inside?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  2 года назад +1

      Hi Rich, there is a limited amount of space inside so instead ordering the factory foam mattress, I decided to use the self-inflating style as it gives me additional storage space and less weight. (that basically gives me about 6" of height all the all around) Based on that I can carry a plastic storage bin (36"x 18" x 6") for the stove and power generator and just beside it I have my sleeping bag and self inflating mattress folded in half. (and the solar panel). Cheers buddy. 🍻

      @@WindyTherapy Is that on top of the tent frame? Any space on the floor at the feet end of the bed?

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  2 года назад

      @@HaveMotoWillTravel No, all the tent (and awning) folds down inside. The bags on the top are just for my clothes and everything else I need to carry. This unit has a front storage pod however it adds weight onto the ball hitch in a hurry. I wish my bike had more torque like a Goldwing or so ….. I can tow it but it is borderline as my bike is under torqued
