Alice’s ability to see the future, to instantly predict someone’s actions in a fight makes her incredibly powerful. It’s why Aro wants her so much. With the help of Bella’s shield she takes down Jane. It’s a fabulous moment! 🥳
Also, he is very skilled fighter form his experience in the south... And also with his ability he managed to shield Alice, Bella and himself from James' interest while making him focus on Emmett making Emmett looks extra intimidating, and when it came to a fight he made James feel desperate and defeated.
What about Benjamin????? We didnt see his full potential in the movies but what we did see was pretty impressive. He can control all the elements so could literally set all the volturi on fire if he wanted too
Naw, he’s not that skilled yet. In the book, it’s said that Amun had been trying to mold him into a weapon for a long time but Benjamin doesn’t want anything to do with it. The most he could do in the field was throw boulders with his mind (which wouldn’t even injure a vampire), open up a fissure in the earth to try and flush Alec’s mist down into it, and use powerful gusts of wind.
@@Jenifer_R_ That whole relationship is a little… wild. So they’re distant cousins, uh, okay. When she was 12, he was 15 and that’s the age he remained at when he was turned into a vampire. Fast forward 5 years, she’s 17 and he turns her into a vampire. Head scratching stuff lol. But the short film they made a few years ago about their story is really quite beautiful. Definitely my favorite, the others were mostly very cringe.

You can kinda get why Aro keeps an eye on Carlise so much...like him, he has 'conveniently' cultivated a family of gifted vampires. And as a leader, that is something to watch with interest and suspicion.
Technically, Bella is more powerful than Alec and Jane because she has the mental shield (or however you want to call it) that protects her and she can also expand that shield to protect others (as described in Breaking dawn). She is also better fighter that Jane and is older in human years. So technically Bella should be number one here, even though we haven't seen much of her fights in the last book. Benjamin is also one of the most powerful to me, as someone said in the comments.
Benjamin I agree with Bella was better fighter than Jane and Alec because the volturi never saw the need to teach them to fight because of their gifts. Big mistake. And yeah I’m juman years Bella was older, the shield was cool but I didn’t see it as something to be excited about. Alec to me was more powerful than Jane as he could attack more people at once than Jane
Bella is powerful for her defense, not her attack. She simply trumps powerful offensive vampire abilities, but as far as attacking, she’s not a good fighter by the end of the series. As a newborn, she’s simply an easy target in battle. But she does give her team a great advantage.
@Ernesto Pena Felix isn’t much stronger than Emmett by a significant degree. Bella describes them as an even match in breaking dawn, although Felix is probably a better fighter. He’s a strong vampire because he was a strong human, similar to Emmett. It’s not really considered a “talent”. Newborn vampires would still be physically stronger than him. In a one on one fight, he could probably beat any untalented vampire, but vampires like Jane and Zafrina or even Kate could probably take him down easily. Felix vs Jasper would probably be a great fight, although my money would be on Jasper. Felix has never been at a disadvantage in a fight, being in the Volturi. Jasper is viciously scarred because he’d had to basically battle for his life for nearly a century.
I wouldn't say more powerful. She's better than Jane and Alex because of her talent, however she's ONLY better than those who have mental powers. She's weak to everything else, Jane and Alec are the opposites, they're great against everything other than those who have a mental shield. Bella is also not a better fighter, she was only strong in the movies because she was a newborn, after that she's kinda weak or at most average for a vampire.
Wasnt it that New Borns possessed amazing strength, being able to defeat hundreds year old vampires so makes sense Bella could take on Jane Also her shield is only against the gifts I think, maybe it dampens an actual blow idk?
Bella and Alice should be on this list too. Alice can literally see the future and is always one step ahead and Bella is immune to every vampire power which means that other vampires have no advantage when they’re fighting her.
I think they should have included Victoria too. Her gift of self preservation saved her so many times. It doesn’t seem powerful but it’s like that fly in your house that you always miss at the last millisecond. She was almost undefeatable until Edward got in her head. Also Bella’s and Benjamin’s power was strong too.

Siobhan of the Irish Coven had the most powerful mental-based gift. Outcome Manipulation. By visualizing the ending outcome events with hard concentration, she projects them into reality. Benjamin of the Egyptian Coven had the most powerful physical-based gift. Elemental Manipulation. He was like the avatar (Aang and Korra) minus the martial arts, but the same of to physically , not mentally, influence the 4 elements of nature from 1 single power. Like any elemental in any fiction, he lacks the 5th and 6th element of aether and nether which doesn't get that much to any recognition.
The problem with Benjamin’s power is that it has two caveat’s: 1. Vampires in twilight are virtually indestructible and immune to nature’s elements - except fire - but they have to be incapacitated first before fire becomes a real threat to them. This can only happen when they are manually ripped apart by another supernaturally strong creature. They are too quick to be lit on fire, and if it does miraculously catch, they could put it out easily. 2. Benjamin has not reached his maximum potential with his ability by the time he’s presented in the series. Edward says that Amun had been trying to mold Benjamin into a weapon for many years but Benjamin refused to be used in that manner. His main play in the battlefield was going to be rock throwing; he had piled several boulders near him to toss at the Volturi when the fighting commenced. Bella remarks how they wouldn’t even harm a vampire, at most they could only distract one for a moment. He appears to not even consider using fire in combat, but in theory this could pose a threat if he was able to light an opponent on fire and hold it on them for an extended period of time. He does not seem to be skilled enough yet to accomplish that.
Jane is the best actress of the entire franchise. But, I am in love with Kristen Stewart and just adore that actress. Kristen Stewart movie in that underwater monster movie was AWESOME!
My problem with Aro in general is that he should not be sane. He 'downloads' the entire consciousness of anyone he touches. Consider all the criminal vampires he did this to for the Volturi's duties. His mind is a mix of psychopaths, murderers, crazed newborns and innocent others. He would have completely lost any semblance of himself centuries ago. Touching Edward would have been catastrophic for his mind. I would put Alice on this list for her precognitive abilities, and Benjamin was a severe oversight. Unapologetic Twilight fan here!! Hmmm.. I’m not sure about this. Vampire personality is unchangeable and he simply sees flashes of people’s memories when he touches them. Also, Aro is pretty crazy and psychopathic anyway.

Aro would need to have incredible mental capacity to store an entire other consciousness in his mind and still keep himself separate. It's possible that the reason he let Bella leave Volterra alive is that after he took Edwards memories, Aro loved her too.
I feel Bella and her ability to nullify any special ability limiting opponents to physical combat only gives her the advantage especially in early years belongs on this list over Felix and Alec. Same for Kate. She controls enough electricity to parallelize targets and is combat trained. Edward also with his telepathic abilities puts on par with Edward too doesn’t it? I do agree with Jane & Aro tho.
I don't understand why so many people hate Twilight. I love the movies, the visual, music and just everything is something I enjoy. I hadn't even heard of the books when I saw the movies, I still haven't read the novels but I will read them.
the novels are great and if you end up reading them, don't miss out on midnight sun (twilight from edward's point of view), life and death (gender-flipped twilight where edward is Edythe and bella is Beau) and the short second life of bree tanner (novela from the point of view of bree tanner, the young newborn who surrendered in eclipse). these books go into what it's like to be a vampire much more and it's very interesting. also, apparently a tv reboot is in the works so hopefully in the next few years we'll get a new adaptation that will do better with some of the silly CGI from the movies.
Jane, Bella, Benjamin are like Rock-Paper-Scissors to each other. But there's no deny Jane is generally more powerful because of how effective her power is to the majority of targets.
For physical damage and offensive attack,Bella has no good choice but for defensive purposes,her shield ability to protect is quite impressive. BUT her shield is useless against physical attack sources. For example, Benjamin can burn Bella ash to dust.
Edward say Benjamin's gift is very rare because his gift is physical whilst most are mental, which is why Amun was afraid of losing him and kept him hidden.
Bella is number one because she can nullify all of the others' gifts--- she can also drop her shield at will Alice saw the volturi being defeated and SHOWED Aro the outcome.. After those two, Jane and Zafrina are next.. notice the top 4 do not require physical contact for their gifts to manifest.. I'd even argue that Edward is more gifted than Aro because he can read minds from thousands of miles away... if the volturi's powers were so strong, they would have defeated the Cullen coven in the finale...
You forget Benjamin who's a literal avatar and since it's not mental it can affect Bella. Also he's more powerful than Jane and even Alec so he's definitely up there
Just so you know Alec’s gift is a clear haze they made it black for the movie but in the book it is a clear haze if you try to look it up in the book it actually states it’s a clear haze
I liked the way it was described in the book. Bella describes it as almost invisible with a mirage like shimmering quality. Because it’s purely a mental gift, that made more sense to me because it really shouldn’t be noticeable to the naked eye; it’s an illusion.

When it hit Bella’s shield and stopped its progress, he congratulated her, and everybody on both sides were surprised by how massive her shield was because the mist gave away its size.

Jasper, Alice, Bella and Renesmee they should be named due to their power. Bella has the best defensive power. Jasper can control emotions while Alice can see decisions being made as well as the future. Renesmee can show anyone her thoughts, including Bella. Even Edward can't read her mind. Emmett also has abilities to do with strength and he is a powerhouse. He was a protector for Bella and Renesmee when Aro wanted to meet her.

Yeah picking a top 5 is difficult, depending what angle you take. Voltari has many offensive talent, but Carlisle's coven has some spectacular defensive talent, with Alice especially and then when Bella turned out to be a shield which nullifies all the Voltari talents and Aro can never read her mind.

Zafrina’s supernatural ability is strikingly similar to the visual prowess of the Sharingan as it deceives the minds of her enemies through eye contact! One thing I often wondered and I know it’s not a big deal is why didn’t Zafrina blind Jane the same way she did with Kate and Tanya? Jane’s ability is powerful no doubt but in terms of execution, it has a somewhat obvious flaw: she can’t use it on someone she can’t see!
All vampire senses are superhuman. It is never said that she has to see someone to be able torture them. If she can smell, or sense, or hear, or touch the vampire then it’s probably possible she could still torture them.

A nice point of reference would be Twilight Saga: Eclipse, where the Volturi guard was observing Victoria’s newborn army, Felix is growing concerned about their inaction to stop them and wants to consult with Aro, Jane tortures Felix and reminds him that Aro’s decisions are being watched and they are the ones who has to decide. Mind you that Jane turned around and LOOKED at Felix before she tortured him!

Benjamin, he cldv wiped out the volturi in the final battle if he wanted, with fire, or sharp icicles, or roots from the ground, any element to slow them down or trap them for a little while 4. Alec: lethal like Jane, the fact that they don't even have to touch you to take away your senses and make tou vulnerable 5. Zefrina: effective as Alec to some extent. I think Victoria should be on this list. She was dangerous just being on her own no one could catch her not even the volturi who had all of the people on this list at their disposal at that point and even Dimitri who was an even better tracker than James.

@@mistyb1183 She was never actually caught by James though she went into a bit of depth with that in a deleted scene in new moon. She would “let him find her” and that’s how they eventually met Victoria let James catch up with her because she no longer sensed he wanted her dead. Dimitri while having the mental gift would still be in the same boat as the rest because she would always sense him coming and be able to run. It would be a never ending chase since they are immortal and I think Dimitri would probably give up after a while.

Two notably powerful ones that you missed are Benjamin (of the Egyptian Coven) and Fred (of the Newborn Army). Benjamin's ability to control the elements, specifically fire, probably makes him the most powerful vampire in the series. It's been fairly well established that the vampires of Twilight are very flammable and he could quite easily destroy other vampires. Fred might not be as well known in the fandom because his only appearance was in the Twilight novella 'The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner' which not everyone has read, so some spoilers if you haven't read it yet. Fred was considered by Riley and Victoria to be one of the greatest assets in the Newborn Army. If he had not abandoned the Army and actually participated in the battle, things could've ended very differently for the Cullens. Anyways, his gift could induce a crippling revulsion in anyone near him. He could control it's intensity and whom was affected by it. This could be subtle enough to make them avert their eyes when they look him or powerful enough to leave targets cowering on the ground. You could compare it to Jane and Alec's abilities, given it's capabilities, but Meyer has stated that it is empathic in nature (meaning it can even effect Bella) not psychic like theirs. It also had a lingering effect to the point that you'd avoid even thinking about him.
Totally agreed. This list confuses power with offensive capability. Shapers, like Benjamin and Siobhan, and some shields, like Fred and Bella, can handle pretty much fight on their own.
Bella should be on this she is and can be extremely powerful over time with the time she now has she further her powers from just shielding like forcing herself into someone’s head and making them see what she wants to as she did with Edward. I think the most powerful vampire is that Volturi woman that can manipulate relationships between people. That power could change the world itself. It could give us eternal peace or force us to kill each other like beasts. The list is pretty accurate though, if we talk battle.
What would Twilight be as a TV series? The main characters would either be the Cullens or the Volturi. If the Cullens are the main characters then the Volturi would be the vllians they fight against. If the Volturi are the main characters, then you have to humanize them somewhat.
The Volturi ostensibly believe in their mission, to keep vampires hidden from humanity. A series about the Volturi would have to explore their growing cynicism and lust for power for its own sake.
My top five is 1 Chelsea 2 Heidi 3 Corin 4 Renata 5 Demetri My reason for Chelsea is because she manipulated the whole coven even Jane and Alec to stay loyal to Aro that's why he gave Afton (a low ranking guard) to Chelsea as her mate
How is Benjamin, Bella & Freaky Fred not in the top 5? Especially Benjamin, he should be number 1. If you read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner you meet Freaky Fred & you see how powerful he is. His gift is physical like Jasper’s so it would affect Bella. He makes himself & anyone near him invisible by projecting a kind of shield of disgust & revulsion. & he can project it to make an entire room go to their knees in revulsion. Also what Benjamin can do makes what Jane can do look like a party trick. She just makes you mentally feel like you’re on fire whereas he could physically light someone on fire & kill them. Also Bella’s gift makes Jane, Alec, Aro, Zafrina, Chelsea, Renata, Marcus, Kate, Demetri, Corin, & Edward gifts null & void. Like how is she not more powerful than Aro, Jane, Alec & Zafrina? Benjamin & Fred are probably more powerful than Bella so in turn more powerful than Aro, Jane, Alec & Zafrina. Also Aro being on that list is laughable. He’s only powerful because he’s ambitious & finds & surrounds himself with more powerful vampires. Being protected by powerful vampires does not in turn make the protected vampire MORE powerful than the ones protecting him. Also Alice is powerful too. She sees the future & can mold it into what she wants. There’s an entire chapter in Midnight Sun of her molding the future to her liking. Also Jasper can not only feel & control the moods around him, he can do something similar to what Fred does but he’s not very practiced at it & not very good at it but it’s still quite powerful. In Midnight Sun during the confrontation in the baseball clearing with James, Victoria & Laurent, he is making himself, Esme, Alice & Bella invisible & making Emmett appear bigger & more dangerous. What he’s doing to hide himself, Esme, Alice & Bella is projecting boredom. Like if anyone were to try to look at either of the 4 of them, they’d feel immense boredom & move on. It was even working on Edward’s mind reading ability & he had to fight hard through the kind of shield of boredom to look into Alice’s mind to see what she was seeing in the future. If he worked & practiced on that part of his gift with someone like Fred, he could become VERY powerful but at the moment he’s not. He had to concentrate & work really hard to do it. Edward said what Jasper was doing was taking so much out of him that if he were human, he’d be drenched in sweat which is exactly how Bella feels when she’s first trying to project her shield. She’s trying so hard that she feels that if she were human, she’d be drenched in sweat & feels mentally drained. Once she figures her shield out during the confrontation, projecting her shield is effortless to her. Jasper just needs some practice but alas he has no reason to practice unless the Volturi come after them again & even then, Bella’s gift is more powerful than his so he wouldn’t even need to do anything. So he definitely wouldn’t ever be in the top 5, but maybe top 10. Anyway I recommend reading Bree Tanner. It’s a short but captivating book & being in Bree’s mind is honestly nicer than being in Bella, Edward, or Jacob’s minds & I say that as a huge Twilight fan that loves all the books. Bree’s mind is like a breath of fresh air. Also the story is so good! It shows corruption from the Volturi & what it’s like to realize you’re in a cult & the fight to get out of the cult, which only Fred, Steve & Shelley accomplished whereas Bree & Diego died trying to get out, Diego cause he was an idiot & went to Riley & Bree because the Volturi is corrupt & needed to kill her so she wouldn’t go telling anyone what they allowed to happen but jokes on them cause Bree told Edward everything through her mind before she was killed. Hopefully that comes up in the sequels Stephenie Meyer plans to write cause she said Freaky Fred is gonna come back in the sequels so hopefully Edward can exchange info to Fred about what he knows. Edward can tell Fred what Bree knew & how she died & Fred can get some closure on her death & then he will also have a personal vendetta against the Volturi & hopefully Fred will join the Cullens permanently so that he doesn’t have to be alone anymore. I love Fred & hate that Stephenie left off his story with him being all alone in the world. So my top 5 would have to be 1) Benjamin 2) Fred 3) Bella 4) Jane 5) Alec

Like she didn’t write it to where it was completely obvious or like stated in the book that what he did was physical. She had to clarify it later in an interview. It reminds me of JK Rowling clarifying SO MANY THINGS from the Harry Potter series to the point it’s annoying. Hopefully she doesn’t start doing what JK Rowling did & just puts it in the story so that it’s clear to the reader.

Combat skills are u sure? Jane has 0 comat skills what so ever. Her power doesn't make her a good fighter come on. I'd put them on top for most powerful offensive weapons yes. But combat? That's a big No. Zafrina would beat both Alec and Jane in a fight since she has combat experience as well. If we took away everyone's abilities, then the battle for champion would be between Jasper and Felix. The combat skills I'm referring to are their powers. I should have been clearer on that. If Jane needs to see her target to hurt them, then Zafrina could take her place at the top with her ability to blind. We also don't know how extreme Jane's ability is. Could she cause so much pain that it is fatal? Nerve endings exploding, and so on. Either way, I'm sure we agree that she is a horrible little girl.

As for Felix, Edward was in the grip of the protective-mate impulse that radically impairs the judgment of ANY vampire. As Edward demonstrated against both the far more skillful Jasper and far stronger Emmett, when he’s got a grip on himself, he can basically pull an Alice in combat by just reading his adversary’s intentions. Straight fight without Bella in perceived mortal danger, Felix would get clowned on. There is no way that Benjamin doesn’t deserve a far higher place on this list. Like Bella, his Gift is in its infancy, and already absurd. Day’s gone come that Benjamin will be able to turn a campfire into a scene out of Reign of Fire. He’s ALREADY slicing fissures so deep, he hit magma.
Different perspective. Where I am from, Disney's Freeform (TV), just showed those movies. I can't remember the vampire's name but the one who could control the "elements", I would consider him as the most powerful. He was from India, he was moving water around when Carlye and Esme were trying to recruit witnesses. Aro, Edward, Jane could not penetrate Bella's defenses. Just remembered the guy's name, Benjamin. The movies missed some golden opportunities, exploring Jasper's mood control, having Felix and Emmitt go at it.
I think Benjamin, Emmett, Kate and Alice are so powerful vampires as well. Benjamin can control four elements of nature, Emmett has no special ability but he has a very harsh style of fighting and hunting, Kate can make electricity tocuh and it has a great potential of damage and finally Alice has a very special ability which provides her to see visions of future and she is a really talented fighter. They absolutely deserved to be in this list.
The one thing the creators of the movies got wrong was the ‘sparkle’ I the books. It is supposed to look like they are on fire which is where the myth being burned by sunlight came from. The sun reflected off their diamond hard skin.
i always imagined their "sparkle" being like a literal diamond in direct sunlight. diamonds have an extremely high refractive index and so in direct sunlight they flash bright white, while also casting flashes of rainbow hues onto nearby objects, which is called "fire" in gemology. so i imagine in sunlight the vampire would simply be covered in brilliant white light that would flicker with their movements in a way that looks like something combusting at very high temperatures. i don't think it would look like they were literally on orange fire, but more like gunpowder sparking or something.
Actually the most powerful vampire is Benjamin from the Egyptian coven he has the power of the elements but he kept his powers hidden because Aro would never leave him alone if he knew. Bella would be the 2nd because of her shield powers.
Siobhan head of the Irish coven was the most powerful because she could visualize the outcome of any situation and will it into reality. I mean how can you fight an ability like that.
Bella's ability to shield the other malicious and even not so malicious powers should put her near or at the top of the list! Also ALICE! Anyone who can see the future has an upperhand that far surpasses reading minds...IMO

Bella in the books basically changed the odds of the supposed fight. She incapacitated Jane, Alex, Chelsea, Renata, and Heidi's talents just by being there. That is why Aro had to back down. He knew that with Bella around Zafrina, Makkena, Kachiri, Kate, Tanya and Edward would become more lethal than they already are. Especially Zafrina. Tbh, I think she is the most lethal fighter alongside Dimitri, Felix, and Jasper
I think that guy from saudi arabia location when cartile was trying to get help for his family and carlile's friends' son controls the water from the pool and it turned out he could control the elements. Who is to say that the Voltri didnt recruit him and he could entrap the Voltari's enemies in the ground or provide a dense fog or heavy snow blizzard. The one vampire who i cant figure out their gift, its the blonde dude who sits up with aro and in the final battle after aro says 'there is no crime or danger here' and the blonde goes to aro and says that renesmee is still a threat and aro replies back ' you think they can fool me, brother ' ?
Aro doesn't just read the mind. He sees everything you have ever done and everything you have ever seen. He goes a step further. He basically knows you better than you know yourself. His power is very immense. This top 5 is terrible
if i will be living in the twilight realm and become a vampire, i will join the vulturi. their presence is a must for the survivability of the vampires and not make the humans extinct (thus removing the source of good food/drink). i agree on most of aro's laws as it helps every vampire.
I think bella's shield abilities is just way overpowered, surprising she wasn't on ur top 5 list. All those amazing abilities, except for Felix's brute strength, is nullified by bella's shield abilities
For me those are the Top 5 (it's not in an order or something 😅) Chelsea (can break bonds, except for the mating bond but not great in hand to hand combat I think) Alice (great fighter, visions, I mean the fight in eclipse? Come on) Jasper (great fighter, manipulator of feelings maybe to the point of giving somebody suicidal thoughts) Alec (can take away senses and maybe paralyze people. Maybe not very good at combat, no chance against someone like Bella) Benjamin (control of elements, can lit people on fire, decent fighter) Some of those vampires you mentioned are for me, in at least some way, really weak. Maybe Aro is a decent fighter but his gift has no use in a fight. Or Felix can be easily taken out by someone like Kate or Alice. Sorry but I didn' like this video as much as some others of you. You're wrong about Aro. Aro's ability is the most useful ability in a fight. He downloads someone entire conscious into his own. That mean he knows you as well as you do. Any and all training you've ever had, how you fight, any and all plans you've made and etc. The Volutori would've slaughtered the Cullens and the others if his full potential was actually written. Alice gave him everything he needed to win the battle.

Jane has the ability to immobilize anyone instantly by just looking at them (aside from Bella, her only trump card). She would beat anyone on that list. Alec’s power takes time to use and can be escaped easily in a 1v1, but he’s useful on the battlefield against many distracted opponents. Benjamin, as far as we know, is not skilled enough in his abilities to pose a threat to another vampire. Fire can destroy vampires but they have to be immobilized first by ripping them into pieces. They’re too fast to be lit on fire, and if they do catch, they can put it out easily before it does damage. Theoretically, if Benjamin mastered his fire bending ability, he could potentially light an opponent on fire and keep it on them long enough to kill them, but this remains to be seen. Regardless, Jane could take him out before he even thought about lighting her up.

Have to admit Benjamin and Kate are given valid reasons by the other posters. Don't agree with them about Bella becasue Bella had to learn to fight. I'm not a Twihard, but I do appreciate the series for what it was, like the movies over the books because "cringe" some of the topics were really badly approached by Stephanie, and top reason of all the soundtracks--especially movie #1's!--were KICK A&&s! Midnight Sun made many things more logical, but didn't excuse many of Edward's behavior, and even Robert didn't like his character's behavior all to well for many scenes. We won't bring up Jacob/boundaries/imprinting....shudders. Stephanie, oh Stephanie. How can you do some characters soooo well (Volturi) and some so badly?

Okay so if you are going to put Jane at the top of the list for obvious reasons I have no idea how you do not include the ONLY vampire that can neutralize her. I mean if Bella is anywhere in range Jane goes from being a force to be reckoned with to running scared for her life before she becomes puppy chow. In sports terms offense win games, defense wins championships and Bella is the only person in the movies with a uniquely defensive ability that will only get stronger the more she trains. In the movies she was able to shield the entire group supporting the Cullins, however, there is nothing to suggest that she couldn't amplified it to shield a entire city which means she could be no where near the actually battlefield and neutralize the gifts of everyone in the Vultori except for those with enhanced strength or speed.
Alice’s ability to see the future, to instantly predict someone’s actions in a fight makes her incredibly powerful. It’s why Aro wants her so much. With the help of Bella’s shield she takes down Jane. It’s a fabulous moment! 🥳

Also, he is very skilled fighter form his experience in the south... And also with his ability he managed to shield Alice, Bella and himself from James' interest while making him focus on Emmett making Emmett looks extra intimidating, and when it came to a fight he made James feel desperate and defeated.

This was a pretty big plot hole in the movie. Ben can control fire, but he never used it in the battle. He just lit a campfire.
Naw, he’s not that skilled yet. In the book, it’s said that Amun had been trying to mold him into a weapon for a long time but Benjamin doesn’t want anything to do with it. The most he could do in the field was throw boulders with his mind (which wouldn’t even injure a vampire), open up a fissure in the earth to try and flush Alec’s mist down into it, and use powerful gusts of wind.

Fast forward 5 years, she’s 17 and he turns her into a vampire. Head scratching stuff lol. But the short film they made a few years ago about their story is really quite beautiful. Definitely my favorite, the others were mostly very cringe.

You can kinda get why Aro keeps an eye on Carlise so much...like him, he has 'conveniently' cultivated a family of gifted vampires. And as a leader, that is something to watch with interest and suspicion.
Technically, Bella is more powerful than Alec and Jane because she has the mental shield (or however you want to call it) that protects her and she can also expand that shield to protect others (as described in Breaking dawn). She is also better fighter that Jane and is older in human years. So technically Bella should be number one here, even though we haven't seen much of her fights in the last book. Benjamin is also one of the most powerful to me, as someone said in the comments.

And yeah I’m juman years Bella was older, the shield was cool but I didn’t see it as something to be excited about. Bella is powerful for her defense, not her attack. She simply trumps powerful offensive vampire abilities, but as far as attacking, she’s not a good fighter by the end of the series. As a newborn, she’s simply an easy target in battle. But she does give her team a great advantage.
@Ernesto Pena Felix isn’t much stronger than Emmett by a significant degree. Bella describes them as an even match in breaking dawn, although Felix is probably a better fighter. He’s a strong vampire because he was a strong human, similar to Emmett. It’s not really considered a “talent”. Newborn vampires would still be physically stronger than him. In a one on one fight, he could probably beat any untalented vampire, but vampires like Jane and Zafrina or even Kate could probably take him down easily. Felix vs Jasper would probably be a great fight, although my money would be on Jasper. Felix has never been at a disadvantage in a fight, being in the Volturi. Jasper is viciously scarred because he’d had to basically battle for his life for nearly a century.
I wouldn't say more powerful. She's better than Jane and Alex because of her talent, however she's ONLY better than those who have mental powers. She's weak to everything else, Jane and Alec are the opposites, they're great against everything other than those who have a mental shield.
Bella is also not a better fighter, she was only strong in the movies because she was a newborn, after that she's kinda weak or at most average for a vampire.

I think they should have included Victoria too. Her gift of self preservation saved her so many times. It doesn’t seem powerful but it’s like that fly in your house that you always miss at the last millisecond. She was almost undefeatable until Edward got in her head. Siobhan of the Irish Coven had the most powerful mental-based gift. Outcome Manipulation. By visualizing the ending outcome events with hard concentration, she projects them into reality.
Benjamin of the Egyptian Coven had the most powerful physical-based gift. Elemental Manipulation. He was like the avatar (Aang and Korra) minus the martial arts, but the same of to physically , not mentally, influence the 4 elements of nature from 1 single power. Like any elemental in any fiction, he lacks the 5th and 6th element of aether and nether which doesn't get that much to any recognition.
The problem with Benjamin’s power is that it has two caveat’s:
1. Vampires in twilight are virtually indestructible and immune to nature’s elements - except fire - but they have to be incapacitated first before fire becomes a real threat to them. This can only happen when they are manually ripped apart by another supernaturally strong creature. They are too quick to be lit on fire, and if it does miraculously catch, they could put it out easily.
2. Benjamin has not reached his maximum potential with his ability by the time he’s presented in the series. Edward says that Amun had been trying to mold Benjamin into a weapon for many years but Benjamin refused to be used in that manner. His main play in the battlefield was going to be rock throwing; he had piled several boulders near him to toss at the Volturi when the fighting commenced. Bella remarks how they wouldn’t even harm a vampire, at most they could only distract one for a moment. He appears to not even consider using fire in combat, but in theory this could pose a threat if he was able to light an opponent on fire and hold it on them for an extended period of time. He does not seem to be skilled enough yet to accomplish that.

Benjamin should be on this list for sure. The ability to manipulate wind, water and can split the ground with a punch should count for something.
Jane is the best actress of the entire franchise. But, I am in love with Kristen Stewart and just adore that actress. Kristen Stewart movie in that underwater monster movie was AWESOME!

My problem with Aro in general is that he should not be sane. He 'downloads' the entire consciousness of anyone he touches. Consider all the criminal vampires he did this to for the Volturi's duties. His mind is a mix of psychopaths, murderers, crazed newborns and innocent others. He would have completely lost any semblance of himself centuries ago. Touching Edward would have been catastrophic for his mind.
I would put Alice on this list for her precognitive abilities, and Benjamin was a severe oversight.

I feel Bella and her ability to nullify any special ability limiting opponents to physical combat only gives her the advantage especially in early years belongs on this list over Felix and Alec. Same for Kate. She controls enough electricity to parallelize targets and is combat trained. Edward also with his telepathic abilities puts on par with Edward too doesn’t it?

I don't understand why so many people hate Twilight. I love the movies, the visual, music and just everything is something I enjoy. I hadn't even heard of the books when I saw the movies, I still haven't read the novels but I will read them.
the novels are great and if you end up reading them, don't miss out on midnight sun (twilight from edward's point of view), life and death (gender-flipped twilight where edward is Edythe and bella is Beau) and the short second life of bree tanner (novela from the point of view of bree tanner, the young newborn who surrendered in eclipse). these books go into what it's like to be a vampire much more and it's very interesting.
also, apparently a tv reboot is in the works so hopefully in the next few years we'll get a new adaptation that will do better with some of the silly CGI from the movies.
Jane, Bella, Benjamin are like Rock-Paper-Scissors to each other. But there's no deny Jane is generally more powerful because of how effective her power is to the majority of targets.
For physical damage and offensive attack,Bella has no good choice but for defensive purposes,her shield ability to protect is quite impressive.
BUT her shield is useless against physical attack sources.
For example, Benjamin can burn Bella ash to dust.
Edward say Benjamin's gift is very rare because his gift is physical whilst most are mental, which is why Amun was afraid of losing him and kept him hidden.
Bella is number one because she can nullify all of the others' gifts--- she can also drop her shield at will
Alice saw the volturi being defeated and SHOWED Aro the outcome..
After those two, Jane and Zafrina are next.. notice the top 4 do not require physical contact for their gifts to manifest.. I'd even argue that Edward is more gifted than Aro because he can read minds from thousands of miles away... if the volturi's powers were so strong, they would have defeated the Cullen coven in the finale...
You forget Benjamin who's a literal avatar and since it's not mental it can affect Bella. Also he's more powerful than Jane and even Alec so he's definitely up there
Just so you know Alec’s gift is a clear haze they made it black for the movie but in the book it is a clear haze if you try to look it up in the book it actually states it’s a clear haze

I liked the way it was described in the book. Bella describes it as almost invisible with a mirage like shimmering quality. Because it’s purely a mental gift, that made more sense to me because it really shouldn’t be noticeable to the naked eye; it’s an illusion.

When it hit Bella’s shield and stopped its progress, he congratulated her, and everybody on both sides were surprised by how massive her shield was because the mist gave away its size.

Jasper, Alice, Bella and Renesmee they should be named due to their power. Bella has the best defensive power. Jasper can control emotions while Alice can see decisions being made as well as the future. Renesmee can show anyone her thoughts, including Bella. Even Edward can't read her mind. Emmett also has abilities to do with strength and he is a powerhouse. He was a protector for Bella and Renesmee when Aro wanted to meet her.
I like how his one of the view who don't fear the Volturi at all and and is looking forward to a fight lol.

Yeah picking a top 5 is difficult, depending what angle you take. Voltari has many offensive talent, but Carlisle's coven has some spectacular defensive talent, with Alice especially and then when Bella turned out to be a shield which nullifies all the Voltari talents and Aro can never read her mind.

One thing I often wondered and I know it’s not a big deal is why didn’t Zafrina blind Jane the same way she did with Kate and Tanya? Jane’s ability is powerful no doubt but in terms of execution, it has a somewhat obvious flaw: she can’t use it on someone she can’t see!

A nice point of reference would be Twilight Saga: Eclipse, where the Volturi guard was observing Victoria’s newborn army, Felix is growing concerned about their inaction to stop them and wants to consult with Aro, Jane tortures Felix and reminds him that Aro’s decisions are being watched and they are the ones who has to decide. Mind you that Jane turned around and LOOKED at Felix before she tortured him!

I think Victoria should be on this list. She was dangerous just being on her own no one could catch her not even the volturi who had all of the people on this list at their disposal at that point and even Dimitri who was an even better tracker than James.
Victoria was found by the Volturi if you read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner you find out they were able to find her a very easily

@@mistyb1183 She was never actually caught by James though she went into a bit of depth with that in a deleted scene in new moon. She would “let him find her” and that’s how they eventually met Victoria let James catch up with her because she no longer sensed he wanted her dead. Dimitri while having the mental gift would still be in the same boat as the rest because she would always sense him coming and be able to run. It would be a never ending chase since they are immortal and I think Dimitri would probably give up after a while.

Two notably powerful ones that you missed are Benjamin (of the Egyptian Coven) and Fred (of the Newborn Army). Benjamin's ability to control the elements, specifically fire, probably makes him the most powerful vampire in the series. It's been fairly well established that the vampires of Twilight are very flammable and he could quite easily destroy other vampires.
Fred might not be as well known in the fandom because his only appearance was in the Twilight novella 'The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner' which not everyone has read, so some spoilers if you haven't read it yet. Fred was considered by Riley and Victoria to be one of the greatest assets in the Newborn Army. If he had not abandoned the Army and actually participated in the battle, things could've ended very differently for the Cullens. Anyways, his gift could induce a crippling revulsion in anyone near him. He could control it's intensity and whom was affected by it. This could be subtle enough to make them avert their eyes when they look him or powerful enough to leave targets cowering on the ground. You could compare it to Jane and Alec's abilities, given it's capabilities, but Meyer has stated that it is empathic in nature (meaning it can even effect Bella) not psychic like theirs. It also had a lingering effect to the point that you'd avoid even thinking about him.
Totally agreed. This list confuses power with offensive capability. Shapers, like Benjamin and Siobhan, and some shields, like Fred and Bella, can handle pretty much fight on their own.

I think the most powerful vampire is that Volturi woman that can manipulate relationships between people.
That power could change the world itself. It could give us eternal peace or force us to kill each other like beasts.
The list is pretty accurate though, if we talk battle.
What would Twilight be as a TV series? The main characters would either be the Cullens or the Volturi. If the Cullens are the main characters then the Volturi would be the vllians they fight against. If the Volturi are the main characters, then you have to humanize them somewhat.
The Volturi ostensibly believe in their mission, to keep vampires hidden from humanity. A series about the Volturi would have to explore their growing cynicism and lust for power for its own sake.

How is Benjamin, Bella & Freaky Fred not in the top 5? Especially Benjamin, he should be number 1. If you read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner you meet Freaky Fred & you see how powerful he is. His gift is physical like Jasper’s so it would affect Bella. He makes himself & anyone near him invisible by projecting a kind of shield of disgust & revulsion. & he can project it to make an entire room go to their knees in revulsion. Also what Benjamin can do makes what Jane can do look like a party trick. She just makes you mentally feel like you’re on fire whereas he could physically light someone on fire & kill them. Also Bella’s gift makes Jane, Alec, Aro, Zafrina, Chelsea, Renata, Marcus, Kate, Demetri, Corin, & Edward gifts null & void. Like how is she not more powerful than Aro, Jane, Alec & Zafrina? Benjamin & Fred are probably more powerful than Bella so in turn more powerful than Aro, Jane, Alec & Zafrina. Also Aro being on that list is laughable. He’s only powerful because he’s ambitious & finds & surrounds himself with more powerful vampires. Being protected by powerful vampires does not in turn make the protected vampire MORE powerful than the ones protecting him. Also Alice is powerful too. She sees the future & can mold it into what she wants. There’s an entire chapter in Midnight Sun of her molding the future to her liking. Also Jasper can not only feel & control the moods around him, he can do something similar to what Fred does but he’s not very practiced at it & not very good at it but it’s still quite powerful. In Midnight Sun during the confrontation in the baseball clearing with James, Victoria & Laurent, he is making himself, Esme, Alice & Bella invisible & making Emmett appear bigger & more dangerous. What he’s doing to hide himself, Esme, Alice & Bella is projecting boredom. Like if anyone were to try to look at either of the 4 of them, they’d feel immense boredom & move on. It was even working on Edward’s mind reading ability & he had to fight hard through the kind of shield of boredom to look into Alice’s mind to see what she was seeing in the future. If he worked & practiced on that part of his gift with someone like Fred, he could become VERY powerful but at the moment he’s not. He had to concentrate & work really hard to do it. Edward said what Jasper was doing was taking so much out of him that if he were human, he’d be drenched in sweat which is exactly how Bella feels when she’s first trying to project her shield. She’s trying so hard that she feels that if she were human, she’d be drenched in sweat & feels mentally drained. Once she figures her shield out during the confrontation, projecting her shield is effortless to her. Jasper just needs some practice but alas he has no reason to practice unless the Volturi come after them again & even then, Bella’s gift is more powerful than his so he wouldn’t even need to do anything. So he definitely wouldn’t ever be in the top 5, but maybe top 10. Anyway I recommend reading Bree Tanner. It’s a short but captivating book & being in Bree’s mind is honestly nicer than being in Bella, Edward, or Jacob’s minds & I say that as a huge Twilight fan that loves all the books. Bree’s mind is like a breath of fresh air. Also the story is so good! It shows corruption from the Volturi & what it’s like to realize you’re in a cult & the fight to get out of the cult, which only Fred, Steve & Shelley accomplished whereas Bree & Diego died trying to get out, Diego cause he was an idiot & went to Riley & Bree because the Volturi is corrupt & needed to kill her so she wouldn’t go telling anyone what they allowed to happen but jokes on them cause Bree told Edward everything through her mind before she was killed. Hopefully that comes up in the sequels Stephenie Meyer plans to write cause she said Freaky Fred is gonna come back in the sequels so hopefully Edward can exchange info to Fred about what he knows. Edward can tell Fred what Bree knew & how she died & Fred can get some closure on her death & then he will also have a personal vendetta against the Volturi & hopefully Fred will join the Cullens permanently so that he doesn’t have to be alone anymore. I love Fred & hate that Stephenie left off his story with him being all alone in the world. So my top 5 would have to be 1) Benjamin 2) Fred 3) Bella 4) Jane 5) Alec

Combat skills are u sure? Jane has 0 comat skills what so ever. Her power doesn't make her a good fighter come on. She even ran away from Alice when Bella blocked her power coz she realized she had to physically fight for once. Alec aswell never had to physically fight. Look what Emmett did to him easily. I'd put them on top for most powerful offensive weapons yes. But combat? That's a big No. Zafrina would beat both Alec and Jane in a fight since she has combat experience as well. In combat Jasper and Felix are on top

The combat skills I'm referring to are their powers. I should have been clearer on that. If Jane needs to see her target to hurt them, then Zafrina could take her place at the top with her ability to blind.
We also don't know how extreme Jane's ability is. Could she cause so much pain that it is fatal? Nerve endings exploding, and so on.

As for Felix, Edward was in the grip of the protective-mate impulse that radically impairs the judgment of ANY vampire. As Edward demonstrated against both the far more skillful Jasper and far stronger Emmett, when he’s got a grip on himself, he can basically pull an Alice in combat by just reading his adversary’s intentions.
Straight fight without Bella in perceived mortal danger, Felix would get clowned on.
There is no way that Benjamin doesn’t deserve a far higher place on this list. Like Bella, his Gift is in its infancy, and already absurd.

Different perspective. Where I am from, Disney's Freeform (TV), just showed those movies. I can't remember the vampire's name but the one who could control the "elements", I would consider him as the most powerful. He was from India, he was moving water around when Carlye and Esme were trying to recruit witnesses. Aro, Edward, Jane could not penetrate Bella's defenses. Just remembered the guy's name, Benjamin. The movies missed some golden opportunities, exploring Jasper's mood control, having Felix and Emmitt go at it.
I think Benjamin, Emmett, Kate and Alice are so powerful vampires as well. Benjamin can control four elements of nature, Emmett has no special ability but he has a very harsh style of fighting and hunting, Kate can make electricity tocuh and it has a great potential of damage and finally Alice has a very special ability which provides her to see visions of future and she is a really talented fighter. They absolutely deserved to be in this list.
The one thing the creators of the movies got wrong was the ‘sparkle’ I the books. It is supposed to look like they are on fire which is where the myth being burned by sunlight came from. The sun reflected off their diamond hard skin.
i always imagined their "sparkle" being like a literal diamond in direct sunlight. diamonds have an extremely high refractive index and so in direct sunlight they flash bright white, while also casting flashes of rainbow hues onto nearby objects, which is called "fire" in gemology. so i imagine in sunlight the vampire would simply be covered in brilliant white light that would flicker with their movements in a way that looks like something combusting at very high temperatures. i don't think it would look like they were literally on orange fire, but more like gunpowder sparking or something.
Actually the most powerful vampire is Benjamin from the Egyptian coven he has the power of the elements but he kept his powers hidden because Aro would never leave him alone if he knew. Bella would be the 2nd because of her shield powers.
Siobhan head of the Irish coven was the most powerful because she could visualize the outcome of any situation and will it into reality. I mean how can you fight an ability like that.

Bella in the books basically changed the odds of the supposed fight. She incapacitated Jane, Alex, Chelsea, Renata, and Heidi's talents just by being there. That is why Aro had to back down. He knew that with Bella around Zafrina, Makkena, Kachiri, Kate, Tanya and Edward would become more lethal than they already are. Especially Zafrina. Tbh, I think she is the most lethal fighter alongside Dimitri, Felix, and Jasper

The one vampire who i cant figure out their gift, its the blonde dude who sits up with aro and in the final battle after aro says 'there is no crime or danger here' and the blonde goes to aro and says that renesmee is still a threat and aro replies back ' you think they can fool me, brother ' ?

Aro doesn't just read the mind. He sees everything you have ever done and everything you have ever seen. He goes a step further. He basically knows you better than you know yourself. His power is very immense. This top 5 is terrible

Some of those vampires you mentioned are for me, in at least some way, really weak. Maybe Aro is a decent fighter but his gift has no use in a fight. Or Felix can be easily taken out by someone like Kate or Alice.

You're wrong about Aro. Aro's ability is the most useful ability in a fight. He downloads someone entire conscious into his own. That mean he knows you as well as you do. Any and all training you've ever had, how you fight, any and all plans you've made and etc. The Volutori would've slaughtered the Cullens and the others if his full potential was actually written. Alice gave him everything he needed to win the battle.

Jane has the ability to immobilize anyone instantly by just looking at them (aside from Bella, her only trump card). She would beat anyone on that list. Alec’s power takes time to use and can be escaped easily in a 1v1, but he’s useful on the battlefield against many distracted opponents. Benjamin, as far as we know, is not skilled enough in his abilities to pose a threat to another vampire. Fire can destroy vampires but they have to be immobilized first by ripping them into pieces. They’re too fast to be lit on fire, and if they do catch, they can put it out easily before it does damage. Theoretically, if Benjamin mastered his fire bending ability, he could potentially light an opponent on fire and keep it on them long enough to kill them, but this remains to be seen. Regardless, Jane could take him out before he even thought about lighting her up.

No Alice visions aren't absolute they can change with any person involved decisions and Bella isn't all that either

Bella can protect herself and others from Jane, but Felix can still walk up to her and punch her in the face.
BUT, Felix would be incapacitated if he tried to do that to Kate. It's all about who can defeat who in a fight.
Why isn't Bella a part of that list if she is able to block Alec and Jane? She is also capable of keeping Edward and Aro in the dark.
Have to admit Benjamin and Kate are given valid reasons by the other posters. Don't agree with them about Bella becasue Bella had to learn to fight. Not all power is mental, and Bella was not able to avoid Jasper's emotional manipulation in book 1 so she wasn't proof against everything. Sorry folks. And Edward? Nope. Others were more powerful than he was.
As for who was the best portrayed? Aroo of course. No one can beat Michael Sheen! Even Ashley Green in The Twilight Effect podcasts (search YT if you're not familiar) admitted he was the one actor she was most looking forward to working with! Dakota though scared the hell out of me with her Jane. I'm not a Twihard, but I do appreciate the series for what it was, like the movies over the books because "cringe" some of the topics were really badly approached by Stephanie, and top reason of all the soundtracks--especially movie #1's!--were KICK A&&s! Midnight Sun made many things more logical, but didn't excuse many of Edward's behavior, and even Robert didn't like his character's behavior all to well for many scenes. We won't bring up Jacob/boundaries/imprinting....shudders. Stephanie, oh Stephanie. How can you do some characters soooo well (Volturi) and some so badly?

Jasper strenght isnt only his power but also his training, you read it in Midnight sun....he cloaked himself, so they overlooked him but when Emmett has james, james only strugling when Jasper comes into room, he is covered with scars from vampires that tried to kill him but couldnt
Siobhan was probably the strongest in a way if Carlisle was correct. Anything she visualised going her way would go her way.
I don’t agree. Jane wins fights but Alec wins wars. There wasn’t a known counter measure against him until Bella became a vampire who could shield not just herself but others from him.

Okay so if you are going to put Jane at the top of the list for obvious reasons I have no idea how you do not include the ONLY vampire that can neutralize her. I mean if Bella is anywhere in range Jane goes from being a force to be reckoned with to running scared for her life before she becomes puppy chow. In sports terms offense win games, defense wins championships and Bella is the only person in the movies with a uniquely defensive ability that will only get stronger the more she trains. In the movies she was able to shield the entire group supporting the Cullins, however, there is nothing to suggest that she couldn't amplified it to shield a entire city which means she could be no where near the actually battlefield and neutralize the gifts of everyone in the Vultori except for those with enhanced strength or speed.
I think Benjamin is the most powerful vampire and also actually Bella being a Shield is very powerful once she improves her fighting
