Hi Rohit- please advise if the celerio is better than the hyundai i10 1.1 litre? Bcos the price is same for both the cars but hyundai is offering free insurance n some accessories on i10 1.1 litre.
which one to go for maruti suzuki celerio zxi or tata tiago or grand i10 ? in respect of F.E , after sale service , cost of maintenance and peace of mind ?
robby rawat in every categories that you mentioned in your post... the other two contenders i,e, Tata & Hyundai can't hold their candles against Maruti....😎😎
I loved the AMT! Very convenient and relaxing in the city and has a manual mode too! We can change the gears ourselves even in the AMT's manual mode by pushing or pulling the gear lever. Even in manual mode, it shifts down to 2nd gear while braking! This convenience is the future of city cars. Space was good in Celerio and quality decent. Ride quality was quite good too. It isn't hard to see why the AMT variant has garnered about 50% of the Celerio's bookings!
Its a good car. I have test driven it three times and am convinced this is not only a great car from maruti but also that AMT is the future of motoring in India. Space wise I think it is one of the best from maruti. The so called jerks are not felt if one drives with a light foot. If you push it hard and floor the accelarator you get great power along with jerk. The manual mode is such a song to drive to. The best part of manual mode is there is no need to downshift if your car slows down or comes to a halt. A very intelligent, spacious and beautiful car by Maruti all in all!
+Ess Kay Just booked Automatic card eager to see end of Jan-15. This card really attract all middle class Income people which India has most. Worth buying it since, auto/manaual both transmission gives 23.1 kms. Maintenance cost is very less compared to MNC brands. Buy Indian card and make pride !!!!
Took a test drive a few days back. The car has its own positives. But something that stuck me is the central console along with the gear area. The way it has been made there seems to be no room for the left leg to relax while driving. Its like saying your feet are inside a bucket. If you driven the Fiat Punto you must have realised that while driving your left knee keeps touching the central console (please I am no auto expert, what I mean is the area where the AC and the music system is) and after a long drive your left leg feels painful or numb or whatever but definitely its not fatal LOL. What I mean to say here is that in my opinion this car is not at all good on driver comfort. As I said you will feel like your legs are inside a bucket. Just imagine going for a long drive say about 500 km's and over. there is every chance that the driver will start feeling the pinch in the left leg. I hope Maruti rectifies this and makes driver comfort more better with more room for the left leg. The executive who accompanied me was a taller fellow. I did not say much but I could see how cramped he was feeling, with no space for the legs to move, for him on the right side. Happy Driving people hope my feedback after the test drive proves helpful.
I find the manual version of the celerio much better than the AMT where I keep mistaking brake as the clutch and instinctively pressing it.hard. They should have included a dummy paddle as an option for drivers that are used to manual transmittion
Test drove this a day back and boy i was impressed!. After my experience with City paddle shifts, this one , for the price point , is a bargain! The downshifts hold the rev till red line. Agreed there is bit of jerk while the box shifts but for the money one pays, its the best deal out there.
Unlike normal automatics, the engine does not coast ( you can see the rev comes down to idle speed on most automatic cars when you brake ) on braking. You get good engine braking. Sorry if i have understood your question wrong.
Ofcourse, that's obvious. The question was to know if there is an easier way like tapping brakes. But, whats surprising is "not advisable". Whats not advisable - coasting or neutral? In that case how to coast? 23kmpl would be impossible on road conditions without ability to coast.
chanduR rolling in neutral is not advisable because your braking power will drastically reduce when you disengage the engine. also, the same fuel efficiency you get while coasting can be achieved by removing your feet from the accelerator. this is because modern engines have computers that will determine how much fuel to give to the engine to keep it running. if you are going down hill or on a plane, the fuel intake will be drastically reduced when you remove your feet from the accelerator.
...make space for kwid. I feel kwid is better if mileage is the primary concern. In addition to that kwid is quite spacy in terms of passenger sittings.
Maruti Celerio should be an exciting cars who want good FE Automatic Car within tight budget. But for Manual Transmission Cars it's better to invest in Cars like Honda Brio by just paying 50k extra (Ex-showroom Price diff version to version). It has got 20PS More Power and sweet & silent 1.2L iVtec Engine derived from Honda Jazz as compared to 1L K Series Engines.
KartheekHK don't worry about milage it's best fuel efficient car it has second position in fuel economy hatchback except ciaz shvs which is at first position
i have booked the manual zxi the reason why i dint choose automatic cause it jerks at low speeds, also you were right the datsun go cant be compared cause its cheap car with cheap quality.
benson997 WagonR VXI abs offers good value for money & more features than Celerio VXI abs. But overall comparison Celerio is more superior car than age old Wagon R. Hope this helps.
Stop complaining about a diesel motor. It requires more maintenance and the benefit of cheap fuel no longer there. I would love them to launch a CNG variant though
The review was very vague! It was short, but wasn't that informative. Like, you could've explained the interiors a little more because there's where the Indian buyers focus...
Why on earth suzuki would stop making the splash and replace it with the celeriac? Looks ugly, as if it was a mix of the mirage and the i20 - where is the flat folding seat at the back as in the splash? Replacing the alto, yes, but suzuki should have worked on the splash rather than taking a step back as it is happening now. Available in the UK from January 2015 - personally, I do not see it sell. All the makers strip back as do dacia and mirage, god, thankfully vauxhall corsa and the fiesta are still produced at similar prices on PCP in the UK. The more I hear about 'global cars' the more scary it is - please, not in the UK
Review should be having the full details of the car, like the engine, its performance etc. The presenter wasted precious time of the viewers to talk - no sense (such as celery) and missed the core points on the benefits of the spec, what other competitors would offer and why this is the best or middle or worst class car. Cost of ownership and service components, re utilisation of parts availability of cheaper alternatives and the engine oil to be used etc - which also play a very vital role. Also, no full details of the interior and the types available was done except the speedo meter settings option. Worst review. Pls learn from Top Gear etc to see how reviews are done.
It Looks OK but i would not give it a 10/10 on anything I Would give it a 6/10 for style ( " James Mays new Car" ) Engine : I know its going to be a slow car / city car ( Good for James May ) Interior : Hard Plastic's everywhere , Noisy , cheap , boring . I would not buy this for myself ( It should be could the Cheeseo but Celerio suits it fine if it was a food it would be Celery : It's taste disgusting it smells bad and it looks nasty . There you go Suzuki or Maruti Suzuki It's Boring and not the best my overall score for this car would be a 4/10 this 4/10 stands for : It's Ok but not cool . I think the Suzuki Alto is more stylish and i would rather buy a hot hatch like a Volskwagen Golf GTI .
Jo Tyers are you out of your mind..understand the segment in which celerio stands and a VW Polo Gti..celerio is meant for people who are looking for value for money and low maintanence..you must have minimum sense to compare a celerio with a car almost thrice its price
The worst worst worst worst worst worst... W........... car ever. I'm using this. When went within a weak for exchange this to buy another car, they told me that this is most stupid car ever.
Ramesh babu its best car first i am unable to recognise what you want to say but the guy who told you this is stupid car is biggest stupid because he makes you stupid....
who the fuck is paid to design ugly boring boxes like this? Interior is ok for the price but the outside plus the slow engine makes it garbage. Another car that will sell nothing in europe at least
That was sucha bad analogy between celery and celerio.
A Very Balanced Review.... Enjoyed it , Cleared a Loads of doubt in my Mind about Celerio

This is automatically gear ..how much cost on road..
I'm looking for auto-geared type, Is this car worth buying or not?
get manual transmission
Hello , i understand that the car has a very rough idle , that the engine vibrates a lot when in idle , do you know whats the reason for this ?
I heard some bad reviews that engine noise and bad mileage,is it true answer back fast.
I find the manual version of the celerio much better than the AMT where I keep mistaking brake as the clutch and instinctively pressing it.hard. They should have included a dummy paddle as an option for drivers that are used to manual transmittion
maruti celerio (automatic) and maruti astar (automatic) which is d best one????? bcz both hav almost same features...
Test drove this a day back and boy i was impressed!. After my experience with City paddle shifts, this one , for the price point , is a bargain! The downshifts hold the rev till red line. Agreed there is bit of jerk while the box shifts but for the money one pays, its the best deal out there.
How do you coast (running with clutch fully depressed)?
Unlike normal automatics, the engine does not coast ( you can see the rev comes down to idle speed on most automatic cars when you brake ) on braking. You get good engine braking. Sorry if i have understood your question wrong.
if you need to coast, you can put in N but thats not advisable
