He really has a great run of beautiful cards. I’ve been going after his complete run and only need a few more. His 54 Topps is very nice as well. Those pictures are amazing. Thanks for sharing
James or Jim aka Junior Gilliam is my main PC. Just found this video. Thanks for making this. For such an important player of his time, he practically has nothing on RUclips to talk about him. I’ll change that eventually.
Hey Alex, wonderful addition to your collection. Great job describing this card as a piece that could hang in an art gallery. I am impressed that you found the photos from the shoot.
That's a great pickup, Alex. I remember the first time I saw that card, I knew I had to have it as well. Like the other photos from the same shoot. Thanks for sharing!
That’s a beautiful card Alex, congrats! It’s funny, I have many times looked at vintage cards more as a work of art rather than a card! Your 54 Bowman Gilliam is no exception! Nice to see the photos from the original shoot as well!
I love your videos. They are just a treat after a long day at work. It is really interesting how you managed to track down the original photos that Bowman then used for the cards, and it inspired me to try to do some research on what I think is one of the more odder backgrounds on a baseball card, and that is the 1951 Bowman Willie Mays, where it looks like he is in front of a tarp to block out a farm behind him. But when I type in a search about the photo of Willie Mays used in the ‘51 Bowman set, it has the picture of him at the Polo Grounds. Strange! Best, Ed
So nice of you to say and so good to hear! I agree, I am personally not a fan of Mays' rookie card primarily for its strange background. The Bowman art dept took liberties with the cards by reinterpreting the backgrounds, sometimes successfully. But in this case I think the original photograph would have been fine, no need to change the background!

Thanks for checking it out!
Gilliam is one of those players that has a lot of great cards. I'm a big fan of the 1954 Bowman's. They never used to get much love in the hobby.
Definitely agree Scott, there are plenty of 54s that deserve more hobby love!
Love how you found the original photo of the card and the others from the photo shoot. Thanks for the content.
You bet! Thanks for watching
Great tribute to a great player!
Thank you!
Wow, loved that, thanks Alex! It's also one of my favorites from the '54 set - gorgeous card.
Great minds
Beautiful card and great job finding the photos of that shoot. Love the transition from photo to card. Well done, Alex
Thank you!

Thanks for sharing, hope you'll start a card channel! We could definitely use more Gilliam on here!
Great Jim Gilliam. So many cards from 1954 seemed to be washed out, but that one's colors really pop.
54 is a fun set to pick through in search of cards that jump out at you. Often very affordable. Thanks Mike
the card and photo transition was awesome!
Thanks buddy
Great looking Gilliam Alex, love the videography at the end!
Thanks so much!

Your vids are really beautifully done. The final fade from the pic to the card in particular was a nice effect.
I really appreciate that!
Awesome! Gave me the feels.
Glad to hear it thx!

Jim you always leave the best comments! Thanks so much!
I want to go to there. So well done, Alex. Enjoy your card!
Me too! Thanks.
Great looking card of Junior! He was such a key cog of the Dodger Blue machine of the 50s... awesome video Alex!
Impact Playa!! Thanks man.
Love it Alex. So cool how you faded the photo into the card
Thanks Don

That is one very nice looking card
Agreed
That's awesome great pick up. How did you come across those pictures. One of those I believe was also used for his topps card
Honestly just a little googling and some luck. Thanks man.
