So, I found out today that this was a cover song. I had no idea until I was looking at song details that they did a cover of it, but also that it set a world record for the longest time on the billboard hot 100 (43 weeks). It also happened to be the top selling single of 1981 (well duh xD). As to how I'm related to the song? Well, It's just one that it seems like I've known forever. It was also in a playlist that I'd use to study a lot (called Favorites of the 70's and 80's) and so I'd listen to it quite a bit.
The bass part in this song is a synth part, so there's not much to see live, however for the exact pitches, the video below shows the keys doing them. It's also much easier on the keys to do the consistent stacatto and then legato notes. Very easy to slip up, but at the end of the night, noone would probably notice if you let one slip here or there (but don't let a lot get by you). Definitely a simple song, but great for working up that skill in either the fretting hand, plucking hand, or both!

1:38 - see the pitches of the synth bass on the keys. It's still the original key
    Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
