Continental Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-9 Fleet History (1966-1975/1982-2000)

- Hey everyone! Welcome back to another video! Today this video's topic is about the DC-9 of Continental Airlines. This airplane started out the year many old vintage DC-9s did, 1966. The airline would proceed to operate these small birds until 1975 when the airline sold all of them to Hughes Airwest (and a very small amount to Air Canada). The mergers with Texas International Airlines in 1982 and New York Air in 1986 gave Continental their DC-9s back and the airline would continue to operate them until the late 90s when they started selling them, replacing them with better aircraft such as the 737 Classic and MD-80 with the last one being sold in June of 2000. This video and series is inspired by Scaring Crab & Ibirdball. Anyways, hope you enjoy the video :)

I found a dc-9 that’s still active that continental used in 1970s and getting sold to air Canada in 1973 and then air Canada sold the dc-9 to air Florida!

The dc 9 is already retired so continental was working as united airlines beacuase is same
But why on 1996 was incident?
Continental and United merged in 2012.
