Jamboolio records two of the rarest, most sought after Mopar muscle car classics with the tallest rear wings; a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona with the 7.0L 426 HEMI V8, and a numbers matching 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird with a 7.2L 440 cid Super Commando V8!
The Daytona is a replica built on a '69 Dodge Charger body with exceptional attention to detail.

Which was a huge shame, if they were selling now, every muscle car fan, including myself, would instantly be buying them. The problem was people then thought they looked too extreme and never knew their true potential until years later.

@tom smith hell no 1 the Daytona came first. And is just so much cooler. Sure it has its ups and downs but it's such an iconic car. Also cars 1 just made that car slightly better

@tom smithnah can't agree with that, the nose and wing flows so much better with the charger's curvy body lines than they do with the roadrunner's much straighter lines.

I had no idea that Finland had a love for these cars. Owning them and maintaining and importing them must cost twice what it would cost in the US and I'm not even to talk about the price of gas because these big blocks are not exactly fuel efficient. I absolutely love it. Post more.
The 69 Charger has the best looking tailights and rear end of all the Chrysler B-Bodies.

A close family friend of ours had an orange Six Barrel Superbird nearly identical in appearance to this one. He sold it in the early '90s, it went through a few owners and ultimately ended up in New Zealand!

I love all muscle cars. But mopars are my favourite! Of course both cars are beautiful. But I like the superbird better. The hemi’s are awesome motors, but I think this one got out sounded by the 440!! Great video as usual Jamboolio! Keep it up.

Those two rare muscles are literally the most infamous cars ever to be in an American racetrack. Sure the Ford Talladega and Mercury Spoiler II won more times in the hands of great racers like Richard Petty in 1969, but there's no doubt the Winged Warriors are faster cars in the NASCAR Aero Wars, thanks to their crazy .28 drag coefficient, which is very good even today. Between the Daytona Charger and Superbird Road Runner, I perfer the Dodge. After all, it came first, is rarer (503 vs 1920 built), it looks cooler, and the '69 Charger is my dream car.
...But, what one certain Mopar everybody always keeps forgetting about is the 500, the prototype of the Daytona.
Although I love the Daytona more the Plymouth sounds better!

I sorta agreed with you at first but now I am thinking there are too many asshole car "kustomizers" over here that would more than likely ruin some of these beautiful machines by doing those disgusting modern restomods on some of them. I own a '70 'cuda and have seen way to many of them totally ruined like the one Kevin Hart wrecked. I was actually glad that car got put out of its misery of being that way. Save the winged cars....send them all out of the country if they have to....

You’re right, the Daytona is a replica, built on a ’69 Charger body, but it still is very cool and 👌. The Superbird is a numbers matching all original.
I guessed as much. The candy red wasn't right and you wouldn't paint a legit Daytona in a wrong color. And the rims are replics I'd say. Still a great looking car. A numbers matching Superbird is rare as hen's teeth. I've never seen one in person and would have probably left a trail of drool around the car ;-)

yea that is crazy because with the gear they came stock with, the street cars were 110-115 mph tops and they NEVER turned an official 200 mph lap during a nascar race...….buddy bakers 200+ mph run was in a tweaked car with the windows up and nascar a ruled out windows by that time.

And FYI Buddy Baker did a 200+ MPH lap back in '69 with a Daytona in NASCAR Hemi trim. Fuck your windows were you there??? Probably making shit up as you go along huh??? First car to go 200 MPH on a closed course even before INDY cars. That is in the history books my friend. Nobody said it was during a race. These cars are straight beasts but I never liked the front end of either of them. I think if they were normal front ends they would look much better. I know they're functional for racing, I just never liked the look.

Thanks, admittedly maybe these Superbirds ( my personal FAVE) et al, would be better suited to some of our Montana Roads....remembering when they came out : were hard to sell ( I,bought a 70 Coronet 500 383/4BBL , RALLEY red, etc. on the new car lots as strange looking: actually seen in early downtown Lafayette IND ( Purdue) a Superbird ( ?? Ahh, memory) which looked out of place in town, and to long for parking space, etc....but interesting...
I like the Plymouth better. The wheels are better. The 440 is a better street engine. More low end torque and easier to tune.
