The rhetoric that forms the basis of "reparations" is basically a pro-slavery argument - if "slaves built the America" there's a strong utilitarian argument that slavery is actually a good thing and small portion of population of USA should be enslaved to fix all the infrastructure problems.
Of course, in reality, slavery only enriched relatively small group of plantation owners and slave merchants (while I lack the verified source(tm) for this, allegedly *a certain religion* was vastly overrepresented in those people.) What I can say with much more certainty is that Europeans only sailed to the coastal ports to buy slaves captured by other Africans - the idea of white slavers prowling the jungle like shown in the "Roots" is basically a complete fiction. Europeans could only colonize the interior after various medicines against tropical diseases were discovered, by this time the Atlantic slave trade had been going on for centuries.

Well... Now Sarkon Aggad is my favorite Warhammer Character of all time. I'm not a massive Carl Benjamin fan these days but I feel like this is the sort of decision GW has to be made to sit with even after they realize it's backfired. The only thing I will even consider buying from GW in the near future is a Sarkon Aggad figurine. They can shove everything else back up their gender hole.

My first black library book was the lion son of the forest by mike brooks its mostly just shlocky scifi not terrible but the lion is weirdly weak and emotional compared to what I knew lore wise. I understand him forgiving the fallen who didnt turn to chaos and were just trying to survive but alot of the dialog was weird. He struggles and nearly looses against like 6 world eater terminators at one point. The ending especially made the lion look like a weak idiot. He easily falls for the oldest trap in the book by chasing the bad guy without backup. It had some good characters but pretty disappointed by my favorite primarch was written. Hes portrayed as a sad old man half the time.

@colonelturmeric558 ya his other stuff seems to be way more blatant, but it still sucks that they gave him the lions return. The guy that cleansed the galexy of hundreds of xenos races yet has no strategies once the fight starts, let alone the dialog stuff.
Yeah i realized that the writing compared to Arks of Omen from the Lion was different. So they dont even have the same character. Arks of Omen stoic and brave, but also a wise leader. In Son of the forest partly, but more of the time he is fighting for his life and would have nearly died. I still liked the book, because it had interesting characters and the end was interesting.

Either Baldermorts Warhammer or Aborder Prince should have it. Can't remember which one right now. Both are great storytellers.

Great Books for Chaos are the Night Lords omnibus and the black legion books.
Personally since i also knew some stuff i started with the dark imperium books and then read the book belisarius great work.
I had no problems with those since you dont need to know everything.
I can recommend that route.
For Xenos I'm not the biggest expert, but for Aeldar Path of the hunter should be good.

Eisenhorn is also said to be great, but i haven't read them yet.
The Heresy books beginning with Horus Rising are also good. If you want more abou the Lion there is also the one with Loyality and Honour which begins on caliban when they were just Knights.

I can understand writing in people you admire and want to pay homage to, but I have never understood "hate writing". It just makes you sound like a school kid calling people names. Totally immature behavior, something you would want to screen out of the writers you choose to represent your product. How these people are considered grown adults is beyond me.
I did this a lot at first when I started writing but I stopped because it's childish as hell, no one should write in anger.

They painted themselves into a corner here, because the values they think their enemies hold, like intolerance, bigotry, ray-sism, sax-sism, are the qualities of the Imperium. But the humans are supposed to be the "good guys", the poster boys of the 40k universe, so they can't condone Sargon as part of the Imperium.
It's kind of funny watching them struggle with it and try to retcon and dig out the foundations that the entire universe was built upon. It was the grimdark that necessitates a repressive, intolerant, semi-fascist regime. They need to retcon the grimdark to be able to retcon the regime, but the universe was built on that grimdark they're trying to remove now.
Wow, imagine being that pathetic that the only way you can take 'revenge' on someone who has wronged you (in your PoV) is to immortalize them in your writing. Think someone is not quite clear on how taking revenge works.
Writers do this kind of thing *all* the time. It's just some are better at it than others, and when done well is quite cathartic. This ahem...author...however, is an indoctrinated activist of the first water. As Darth Vader put it: 'He is as clumsy as he is stupid.'

There's a rainbow space marines chapter but that's from back when rainbows meant ecological hippies. Unfortunately, I just gave Mike Brooks credit for Lion Son of the Forest. I at least liked that book by him. I am kinda disappointed because I actually praised it a few days ago. Then again, I had just put away the Ghazghkull Thraka book around the point there was a psyker ogryn that was the pilot of a ship and went "nope" so the Lion might have seemed great in comparison. But my current impression was that the Lion book was good.
Next step is making Alex jones cannon. He is basically every imperial faction at this point.
