- Shows like Gunsmoke somehow have remarkably perfected the art of making you absolutely hate their villains, and rightfully so, just about more than any current shows on today. Just a short clip from the opening scene from Gunsmoke on 03-25-1961, starring George Kennedy, a villain that you will love to hate!
The great George Kennedy. One of my favorite character actors who never disappointed. He appeared in several Gunsmoke episodes... seven in fact.
His role in Cool hand Luke is unforgettable.
Maybe his best!! Great actor.

I met Mr George out at the pool at a hotel outside San Diego.
We were the only 2 there & he sat with me and visited for about 30 minutes. This was in the late 80's.
It was quite an experience for me.

Lol... yes. George Kennedy was a big man himself, but James Arness almost made him look like Pee-wee Herman.
I like the earlier Gun smoke shows better than the later episode
The 1/2 hour B&W episodes were the best.
Yes, the earlier half-hour episodes were "tighter"... got to the point faster I think.
Don’t have TV shows like that anymore

One of the best.
I met George Kennedy in Buenos Aires, on November, 1979.
I was at high school and I went specially to talk with him, which I did.
He was happy to talk with someone about his old movies.
He was a huge wardrobe in front of me and I cannot believe that James Arness
was taller than him. He seems to be short when the camera tokk them from profile.

Cool! I have always been a fan of George Kennedy. James Arness too. Both huge men and, from what I understand, very nice men too. Tough choice for Kitty. Lol.

@@GuyjKiteThanks, I knew he looked familiar. Was it an episode where his character had a third eye in his forehead? Don't know why but that sounds right to me. Buy I could be wrong.
@@thesixshooter6506 yes that is correct. Also he had a bit part on the Andy Griffith show. He played a bad guy. Barney was righting him a ticket .state police showed up. He tried to run and got tangled up with Barney. He was captured and said I'm gonna get you deputy.

the bartender was in the twilight zone episode ''will the real martian please stand up'', he was in theCOLUMBO episode ''suitable for framing''. and most likely a lot of other things.
He probably kept an eye on what was available.

All these people are too crean, shaven, women look like if they are going to the waldor astoria etc even the bartender!
The Marshal ran a clean town. And this was before the advent of casual Friday too.
So, what happens next. Does he leave Dodge alive?
No Bad guy ever does.
I can't remember. But, after watching this, I don't like his chances. You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask off the 'ol' Lone Ranger, and you don't mess around with Kitty. I think that was in a song once.

Obviously George Kennedy hadn't seen the first five or he never woilda rode into Dodge.
