    RovyVon have some new LED ultra-compact/keyring torches out. This time they feature auxiliary LEDs on the main case, in addition to the dual main LED's. We have the same dual power with a built in Li-Po battery, it's also possible to use AAA cells as a second/back up power source.
    In this video I make a quick comparison, showing some of the differences between these 3. There are some additional options such as red/blue, UV, warm white etc.

    Thanks for the video! Two things, if you press down on the head before you undo the clip it seems to open and close better. Also I’m quite disappointed that they only made one set of groves that fit properly for the clip, makes it so it can’t be deep carried. The other groves will let the clip slide in but it won’t click in all the way and it slips out. Other then that it’s a sweet light!

    • @MrBazReviews

      Seems to vary even pushing down, perhaps tolerances in manufacture. Yes, the clip seems to fit one way better. Still interesting range that RovyVon have.

    Great review. Good details on the features and functionality.
    I recently bought an E7 model. Wonderful light. And the added benefit of the AAA backup battery is brilliant. Rechargeable lights are great until the battery dies, often when you need it the most. With the AAA backup battery, you're litterly never left in the dark.
    A well designed and manufactured piece of illumination technology that meets the needs of a dependable source of light for nearly any occasion.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  Год назад +1

      I agree I think the appeal is the AAA back up, clever thinking and it also extends the life of the unit. Perhaps a new design would allow replacing the built in battery.

    • @anangryranger
      @anangryranger Год назад +1

      I've done some research on the recharging life of a lithium battery. It is stated that it can absorb roughly 60 charges before it will no longer be able to function.
      Since it cannot be replaced in these lights, I've chosen to operate in the AAA power for everyday use. AAA batteries are available and easily replaced. Thus I regulate the lithium battery as the backup and the AAA battery as the primary power source.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  Год назад +1

      @@anangryranger I don' t know where you got 60 charges from, I know of no Li-ion cell that is that bad for re-cycles. You should get hundreds even in a small device such as this

      @anangryranger Год назад

      @@MrBazReviews This was based, I'm sure, upon general use of the lithium battery as a whole. The article I read didn't go into assorted models. Hopefully the ones used in RovyVon lights are the long lasting types.👍 RovyVon stated that one can use rechargeable lithium AAA batteries in the Angel Eyes series in lieu of alkaline AAA's with no issues.

    • @buckcherry2564
      @buckcherry2564 Год назад

      To be fair, the AAA flashlight is left in the dark when you have all rechargeable products and dont have AAAs in a drawer anymore. Every situation where I have been within reach of AAA\AA batteries, I have been within reach of a powerpack(some solar or kinetic) with MANY times the energy stored in it and a cord(sometimes built in). Depending on the size of Lithium Ion battery used, you can actually just open the flashlight and stuff a AA in there too (this being a design feature in some). To the point that I am not actually sure why RovyVon didnt just make it a AAA battery well that could just support using LIon OR AAA, if the Lion dies and you have AAAs, then you could just swap out in that case. It is a bizarre choice.
      All that said, I actually like the E8 a lot, and it is my goto EDC for lite-carry and work (IT).

    Pretty sure the low uv light on the e5 compared to the e8 is due to the light on the e5 going through the glow in the dark body. It absorb a good part of it and re-emites it in visible light.

    Great review! I have a couple of questions, if you still have the units: can you charge them with a Type C to Type C cable? Also, is the footage at 5:07 with the A5's UV? (I want to know if you can see the authentic euro marks with the A5, even if dimmer, or only with the A8?)

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  10 месяцев назад

      I still use them. The Euro marks are not showing on the E5/7, but strangely it does show a hidden mark on a £5 I have.

      I've heard of the Boruit, and it looks quite good.
