Metal Overlord is much more powerful than Devil Doom. And Shadow defeated him without his super form, so it's obvious he would do the same to Devil Doom.
@Howardpower679 We know that they changed some cutscenes and dialogues. One could hope that they would at least touch up the Time Eater a little bit, because it's notoriously one of the least liked bosses in the series.

in game there's stupid unlockables like in sonic gen you can collect music notes to unlock music and use it instead of default, so there is all of me there

@@chancezillathekaiju4024 Well yeah, there are a couple bits of dialogue that imply he could return again and be reborn but I feel like then it'd be redundant if they dont mix up the plot next time around. Him losing the doom powers does seem a bit telling, for the moment.

It's pretty much impossible to tell who the new voice actor is because of the distortion filter, but the credits have all the usual voice cast members plus 3 new ones. Robbie Daymond who voices Mephiles, Ray Chase who voices Metal Overlord, and Wally Wingert who voiced Cubot in the past games, and seemingly may be the new voice of Black Doom here.
