Great production. Kept me watching right through. U supported your sponsors with out dragging it on or fluffing it up. The format worked well. Nice to see the old machine on the trails, it looked in great shape. Not enough people out there care for there machines enough to keep them looking like that. If your gonna ride them hard than regular attention to maintenance is a must .
I can’t wait for the episode that will feature the RS1! I could tell from your review here that you both got excited about it and it looks like a fun unit to drive!
That 20 year old arctic cat is so clean! One would think we have travelled back in time to test a current model year 👍 Maybe it's just me but I would pick that old work horse over the new outlander it was sitting beside any day. Good work guys 😎
Old school kitty cat is awesome! 😎. Definitely wouldn’t mind picking up something like that to play around on. However that RS1 is simply sick 🤟🏼. Great video as always guys! 👌🏼
Don't think you could've picked a better "old" quad than that Arctic Cat. I remember wanting to sell my Honda 300 back in the day for one of those machines. I am really excited to see what is in store for that machine.
Another 72” SxS, we had a hard enough time opening trails to accommodate 64” SxS! Now it’s back to the drawing board if anyone actually wants to ride them anywhere but the desert.
Douglas Wolter I ride my 72” X3 all over Windrock, Ride Royal Blue, Brimstone, Tackett Creek, even Durhamtown....it’s not a big problem like you think it is.
I like the change up in ur show, I’ll be looking foreword to ep 4 Years ago my buddy found a huge pully in the back of his barn, he then flipped his lawn mower on its side and replaced one of the drive pullys that was about a third the size, we followed him at 32mph. That’s how cool I think the ace is. That new rs1 though... Looks. Fkn. Awesome.
great Arctic Cat 500!!!!!immaculate condition!!!! back in the days got myself Suzuki Eiger and it`s the moste reliable atv ever i think you just cannot break it, after 10 yeras still own it.These oldies were solid bikes past not a plastic junk made nowadays.
I just bought a 98 Suzuki 500 Quad runner with this same engine a few weeks ago. It looks like it was hardly used. No rips in the seat or anything, just changed the oil, and bought a new air filter for it. Has the same winch on it as well. I paid $2100 for it and another $100 for another set of new rims and Duro tires for spares to the stock rims with Kenda Bearclaw tires that are on it that look pretty new as well. Makes me sick I had an 01 Honda Foreman that is pretty damn similar that I got new that was sold off probably 8 years ago for $2500 and that was like brand new. Since I moved away to college less then a year after I got it I really only rode it about a year. This Suzuki I just got only has 1100 miles though not much for a 20 year old machine. I have just short of 5k miles on my Can Am Commander 1000xt and that is just a few years old. Whoever owned that Suzuki didn't ride it much and def took care of it. I bought it at an auction, people moved out of state and their house and everything else they sold off. They had 3 Suzuki ATVs but I guess they took one with them but sold that 98 and a 2010 King Quad 400 which brought $4500 I thought was pretty ridiculous when I have seen the brand new 19s for around $1500 more. They had 3 Honda dirt bikes, and 3 Artic Cat snow mobiles as well. So I guess they had their preferences lol. I live in SC on the beach though so no need for any snow mobiles, this auction was in PA. I have no interest in the dirt bikes really but should have bought those too. Considered converting one to a 3 wheeler but none sold for over $1k and were all 08 or newer. The 2 smaller ones think they were 100s or 150s sold for $500 and $400 and the bigger I think was a 350 or 450 sold for $1k. I really was wanting to get a Renegade or Scrambler, still might. I have that SxS already and a couple ATVs. I had a 2001 500 Scrambler back in 01 as well and I loved that sure the new one would really give me a scare lol. I used to have up to 5 ATVs at a time back in the late 90s and early 2000s and eventually sold off all them but the 01 Banshee. That sat in my garage from around 05 till this year. Cleaned up the carb and all and got it out riding again. Nowhere to ride really at my house so I took it back to my parents and got it running again where all my other ATVs stayed when I moved away, and slowly sold off.
I personally would love to see a separate channel featuring vintage atv and sxs test rides, how-to videos, upgrades, maintenance and restoration. And even an modified old vs stock new feature. People without silver spoon and trying to stay out of debt would love that. Give the interns something to do lol.
Did I got it right, you prefer the RS1 over Yamaha yxz? Even compared with the 2022 YXZ Special Edition? Just for use on narrow Tracks and ripping for fun, which one would be YOURS?
One thing I never understood is why Honda still uses a swing arm on the solid axle rancher and foreman. Why not a double triangulated 3 link and dual Shock's like the cat so the rear axle can articulate. I'm not very IRS motivated, I'd love a legit solid axle rear but able to articulate. That would be bullet proof!
Brad At Tittle Diesel Performance Only bad part about those old cats solid axle are the bearings. They went out alot and had to replace them. Used to have a bearcat 454.
Y'all should do a old 90's era Honda fourtrax build up and put it up against the arctic kitty. I'd love to see a old Honda on tracks or even just some insane massive tire for climbing snowy mountains or mud or whatever
If your gonna be by yourself, ride a bike or a quad! Riding with a friend is kinda the whole point! To bring someone who can’t ride or ride fast out on the trails!
Gotcha, new to this, Assuming you’re wondering why I’m knocking on the ace... bc I prefer riding over driving... not bc i think it has any lack of ability. They went sxs inspired body and four wheeler on the bottom ... I get a sad chubby when I imagine the 900 with a scrambler on top
Still the worst way to tie something down. You SHOULD tie down the tires. That lets the suspension move and not stay compressed so you dont put extra strain on it and blow out seals. Also if you tie down the tires it compresses the "softness" of the tire and doesnt let it move at all. 100% the best way to do it regardless of what your paid to say because their a sponsor.
Dirt Trax Television I think those straps are better than normal ones but are still prone to failure more also. Tie down the tires and do it right and be done with it
I wish people would quit saying the seats in the turbo s are new. They are not. They are recovered stock rzr seats that have been around since 2014. They suck.
I have kept up with the atv, dirt bike , and utv market since 1992 and i have 2 storage totes full of nothing but off road magazines and I have noticed this market has grown a lot in the last 15 yrs but now it has reached a whole new buyer level . No longer are they just targeting the working man weekend warrior and/ or farmer . They are targeting big money doctors , lawyers , and buyers who have more money then responsibility in life . I will never get to own the big boy utvs like the Polaris 1000 xps turbo because I just cant justify spending that much money on a product that you will only use for having fun and hanging loose on ( kinda hard to hang loose with your asshole pinched together for being scared your going to tear it up) ;) But they are nicer now days but ill stick with the 800 or lower class.
Polaris just unveiled its 2019 lineup. What a disappointment. None of the Turbo S upgrades made it to any other model except the accent lighting. What about us midwest and east coast riders who don’t want a 72” machine? We are not allowed to get a top of the line 64” model? I was all set to get a 64” Turbo Dynamix model if it got the new stronger front dif and reinforced suspension parts. I am amazed Polaris doesn’t seem to care about upping its reliability with all the new competition, competition that all seem to have a better reputation then Polaris when it comes to reliability. They could lose market share for no reason to, with so many models available how can not one get the new front dif. Even the rs1 has it, I thought for sure a few 64” models would get it. Seems clueless on their part to me. I thought it was a no brainer.
I love my 98 Arctic Cat 500! a.k.a Frankencat It has been a cheap reliable ride for many years. I've done a couple of mods to taylor it to my needs. Check it out on my channel.
My self guys i really confused. About this side by self. Is this the end of the stearing. Of a four wheeler. Now u think the polaris. Has nice side by self. Well wait for can am. I hope these side by self. Do not bump out the traditional four wheelers. All stearing wells. We need to has bar drive. Like Harley Davidson. U will never see any thing like that. The price for these things is good down payment on house. Artic cat. Is to old Suzuki parts. Now. Textron? How much is in the wild cat. Its seems to me its all susuki. And Textron. They say Yamaha. But it is susuki. But these guys no more then i will know. Kool guys. 👦

Man look at that Cat 500...so nostalgic!! Love it
I can’t wait for the episode that will feature the RS1! I could tell from your review here that you both got excited about it and it looks like a fun unit to drive!
Enjoyed the new format keep the vids coming
Great episode. I like the new format and it's really cool to see a new review of an old quad. Now do a Suzuki Quadrunner! :)
That 20 year old arctic cat is so clean! One would think we have travelled back in time to test a current model year 👍 Maybe it's just me but I would pick that old work horse over the new outlander it was sitting beside any day. Good work guys 😎

Don't forget the wolverine would love to see a review on one. Had 98 it was was the most fun I've ever had on a machine

It's a great idea. If not a separate channel, a separate section within this channel could work.
Dirt Trax Television thanks for replying and agreeing. You guys do atv/sxs vids better than anyone else-really on another level vs the others 👍🏻
Thanks so much!
show us the detail job on the artic cat 500. That thing looked great.
Should do more of thoses old atv test rides heck do old side by side to
Did I got it right, you prefer the RS1 over Yamaha yxz? Even compared with the 2022 YXZ Special Edition?
Just for use on narrow Tracks and ripping for fun, which one would be YOURS?
This opinion probably varies around the office. The RS1 is a pretty wicked piece of equipment...

Well it's time to put them all to the test I think it would be sweet🖒🖒🤘🤘
Pro tip: try to keep that XX right side up.. They run better that way- trust me.
Y'all should do a old 90's era Honda fourtrax build up and put it up against the arctic kitty. I'd love to see a old Honda on tracks or even just some insane massive tire for climbing snowy mountains or mud or whatever
Somebody needs to make a sxs street legal like one of the three that lead off this episode.
RS 1, or turbo S? West coast desert riding. Which one?
If your gonna be by yourself, ride a bike or a quad! Riding with a friend is kinda the whole point! To bring someone who can’t ride or ride fast out on the trails!
Build on the 500?
16:55, pronounce it "bi you" if you're south of Canada :)
Keep up the good work.
Dad in law got a 2wd 99 and still goes
Gotcha, new to this,

Most of the UTV market is old folks that want to sit next to each other and have a big cooler of beer in the back. This is why I ride an ATV

I was with you right up until you threw in the comment about getting paid off.

With the way atv prices are going, a Jeep CJ7 can be had for the same or less. That’s the route I am going, wont be buying snother.
2500 is way to expensive for that quad .... I just bought a 2012 polaris 500ho for 2500
Edward Arens you have to account for the exchange rate. one Canadian Dollar is equal to like 74 US cents
Patrick Gaudreau yes but it's not that big of a difference... a 1998 quad is worth maybe a $1000

Polaris is a price point product anyways. Quality is not there strong point.
Where the can am
Picking up a few Can-Ams this week. Stay tuned!
First time on this channel, not gonna sub, for the reason alone your into is waaayyyyyyyyyyyy to long. Besides that nice video.
I love my 98 Arctic Cat 500! a.k.a Frankencat
