This guy sees the movement of an opposing player like very few i've seen. Any gap in their stance (legs apart, etc.). and he simply moves the ball through them smooth like butter AND with tricks. Ridiculous natural technique, perfect timing in his movement - virtually supernatural anticipation / execution.

The problem was that he was very inconsistent. If he was motivated and physically on form he would trash any defender but if something was not quite the way he wanted he would disappear in a match. He was considered one of the worst signings at Inter and Chelsea but dominated the Portuguese League for a few years at Porto. Even for Portugal he was never a regular starter because no one could guess which version of him would start the match. He could win a match singlehanded or just roam the pitch aimlessly.

Remember this guy was almost stopped playing football when he was 28. He somehow managed to be another character and started again from scratch. First Porto, thereafter with Besiktas into champions league again where he belonged, then help win the Euro 2016, replacing injured Ronaldo in the final. He then went to World Cup 2018 and scored a last trivela against Iran before declining. So this video could also be 4 minutes long if he didn't stand up again.

    2. Ricardo Quaresma, because of his unlimited ability with the ball. I don't give a s**t about "if he had another mentality" and other things. For me Quaresma=happiness.
I'm so so so sad that now is free agent and who knows if he's gonna retire or not. I hope that he'll be back, for the rest of the season or just for one last appearance, for say goodbye. He deserves far more respect from the fans.

I'm telling you now... anyone objective watching this guy on the ball would put him STRAIGHT into the top five most skillful players EVER. It's actually scary seeing him dribble at a level the very best skilled ATGs would be impressed by! Sadly, an upbinging that likely fostered a sociopathic mentality puts him amongst those players that could and should have been worldwide legends, but doesn't allow them to flourish.
Basically, he needed a manager who would fully recognise his genius and build a team around him (the gamble being his mentality would diminish with the responsibility). Without this, he was always going to clash with any controlling -style manager.
Would have loved for him to to have nicknamed 'Charisma' ; )

King of skills ! Even being old he can still take on and eliminate defenders. Ronaldo on the other hand was better all around player but can't dribble past a player any more even to save his life. Can't teach flair and skills ... Quaresma was just born to show of and dribble.

I'm telling you now... anyone objective watching this guy on the ball would put him STRAIGHT into the top five most skillful players EVER. It's actually scary seeing him dribble at a level the very best skilled ATGs would be impressed by! Sadly, an upbringing that likely fostered a sociopathic mentality puts him amongst those players that could and should have been worldwide legends, but doesn't allow them to flourish.
Basically, he needed a manager who would fully recognise his genius and build a team around him (the gamble being his mentality would diminish with the responsibility). Without this, he was always going to clash with any controlling -style manager.
Would have loved for him to to have nicknamed 'Charisma' ; )
