Great content, on the back of this video I have purchased the Sparmax Max 3 along with the Sparmax Airism Viz. A complete kit to get started with ( newbie) and more importantly it won’t break the bank. Had it now for 3 days and up to press it’s been fantastic, would highly recommend.
I've got the Sparmax SP20X..outstanding unit and they're actually made by Iwata I believe. I use the SP20x for 80% of work being an 0.2 needle it's a gem. I think I'll get the unit you're testing too..
Just picked up one of these with a Sparmax AC-66H and cleaning pot for 20 bucks, it was used for make up so everything cleaned up like new. im new to airbrushing only bought it to try and paint some film cameras.
I just got a Max-3 some weeks ago as my first airbrush and stumbled here on your channel. Very helpful video as I have only tried my airbrush couple times and haven't got very comfortable with the cleaning yet. I have been poking around with Q-tips and felt that I am not getting it clean enough while feeling that I'm going to damage something. Now I have a pretty good idea how to deal with cleaning in future. Subscribed!
I have an old SP-35 and it performs flawlessly just like the max 3 did in this demo. Great quality airbrushes that are not that well known. Not my goto brush but one of my spares. Normally work with Iwata CM-SB and a HP-B plus. If on a budget definitely one to consider.
Yes I agree...I haven’t used one for many many years and feel that they have always been a little understated, I am thinking of switching from the Neo to sparmax in our classes as I feel for the price they are such a great choice for the beginner and parts are reasonably priced 👍🏻
I like that sparmax gave that little plastic brush for cleaning, I not a fan of the twisted metal wire cleaner brush too rough leaves scratch marks. Good video Carsten don’t let the heat get to you🥵
@skaag how does this brush workout for you? Im looking for obe in this price range for brushing scale model cars and gundam. Can you please give me some reply.
@@dannygonsalez27 I've only used it briefly, but it works nicely enough; it feels a decent piece of kit! I chose this one as I've seen a few modellers on RUclips use it and they had good things to say about it. I've recently got back into miniature painting and models and I wanted to develop my skills with an airbrush; I had a cheap one, from years ago, that broke on me, so was looking for something better, without breaking the bank! Hope this is helpful.
Hi there, i have same problem.I can not get 30 sec of spreying before paint stop coming out. Change different mixture of paint/ thinner but no result??!!
We sell them for $129.95 AUD via the following link - www.airbrushasylum.com.au/store/p532/Sparmax-Max3.html otherwise I have some links in the description to other suppliers who ship worldwide. But all in all they are great value for money 👍🏻
I just purchased one last week together with sparmax 620x compressor, havent had a chance to use it yet. But the compressor i switched on and it is so damn quiet
It certainly is and I reckon I can get it to perform better with a bit more tweaking and using it more ...I like to wear my brushes in, they always perform better when they have been used for a while 👍🏻
I don't think it's any good for fine detail! I bought one after this video last year horrible heavy thing! Nose heavy, forever got to keep the back part off to loosen needle or just stopes working proper after 10 minutes or so! Deep clean galore thus thing and it's a right high air flow to iwata to get use too with quite a stiff trigger! I have been watching this old guy a professional airbrushes old skool he says not to backwash your airbrush or pull needle through so gave it a try past couple times and it's Definitely helping it's working better than when I covered the front to blow back so not been doing that and it's working but still horrible brush
Fair points and understand this brush may not be for everyone, sorry to hear that you have had so many issues with this one. I actually think that as an entry brush and for the price this one actually out performs similar brushes in the price range like the Iwata Neo HP.CN, thanks for sharing your points always great to hear different reports on how it performed...or didn't for you

I'm using a max 3 for a couple of years now. Mostly use it for general use and wallpaintings.
I also used it as a beginner airbrush in my classes.
Thanks for the comment and feedback we are planning on using them in our classes as well 👍🏻😉
@@AirbrushAsylum cool, succes, you won't regret it, and for that price 👍👍😁

I have two sparmax Guns I use for my plastic models like planes and tanks. They have never let me down for that kind of work👍
Thanks for your comment and that’s great to hear 👍🏻
Just broke my first cheap airbrush, gonna buy this as a replacement. Thanks for the demo and cleaning tips

Well done on this presentation mate. Just got my third unit. Got one of the new small format compressors.
Great content! I just bought the exact brush but my lid won’t come off for the paint pot thing… is there a certain way I should take it off?
Hey guys ! Is the sparmax sx0.3D good enough for detailing , shading and hilighting tanks and airplanes ? Reliable on panel lines ?
Have a GP-35 and will probably buy a Max3 or a Max 4 later 👍
I like that sparmax gave that little plastic brush for cleaning, I not a fan of the twisted metal wire cleaner brush too rough leaves scratch marks. Good video Carsten don’t let the heat get to you🥵
Thanks mate and yes I agree those brushes are great , I know weather is 20 degrees one day then back to mid 30’s ...crazy Melbourne weather 🥵🤯
Can I use a 0.2 needle on this AB?
No final mais sujou que limpou
I actually just got one of these for my birthday the other week! 😆 😁
That’s awesome glad the vid came at the perfect time and happy belated birthday 🥳

I'm having some trouble with removing the needle. Even with the nutt completely removed i can't pull it out. Any advise?
Push the triggee down.
I love my max 4. It's brilliant.
Awesome thanks for the comment 👍🏻
@@AirbrushAsylum thanks for the content, it's honestly teaching me a lot about Airbrushing and techniques and I really enjoy it!
No probs glad you find it helpful
Well done again mate
Thank you so much glad you enjoyed the video mate 👍🏻
My sparmax clogs all the time. Never get more than ten minutes use out of it before having to strip it.

Seems like a great gun
Yes it is, Sparmax is very popular in the hobby sector but understated in my opinion in the general airbrushing sector.
Pretty fine for a 0.3mm air brush
It certainly is and I reckon I can get it to perform better with a bit more tweaking and using it more ...I like to wear my brushes in, they always perform better when they have been used for a while 👍🏻
faantastic all the way .au has the fastest cars as well. thanks. ill paint flams on my rx 8
I would like to see some artwork done with this brush exclusively
Yes I plan on doing some and you will see it being used in numerous videos 👍🏻
