A United Airlines pilot was tardy to her flight Saturday and arrived in civilian clothing, getting on the loudspeaker and ranted about her divorce and politics. According to reports, about 20 passengers disembarked the plane saying they didn't feel safe with her as the pilot. "Ok, if you don't feel safe, get off the airplane," the pilot said. "I'll stop and I won't fly the airplane. Don't worry. I'm going to let my co-pilot fly it. He's a man. Ok?" #InsideEdition

If not, what would she like to improve in the future? And just keep her talking to help filter some of the excess trauma out until a new pilot could get there.
We all have our breaking point and clearly she was at hers. It is likely she needed the money so badly she came to work on a day she couldn't perform her duties. That actually happened to me and my brother, we were 7 and 5, on a flight to Italy, we cried for the longest time because we were scared of heights and of the plane falling and crashing, the flight attendants tried to calm us down and we ended up in the pilots room, there were 2 pilots, they handed us cookies and explained us a bit about how they don't always have to fly the plane because it'd automatic, a pretty fun experience.

Regardless of gender, if a pilot starts talking to passengers about whether he or she should change into their uniform or not, that is unprofessional and bizarre. I would want off the plane at that point, even before the talk of her divorce and further strange comments. This is why I just drive these days.

The Pilot should never have been allowed to board in the first place. Being out of uniform was a big hint that things were not going well for her. Right decision to stand her down. Hope she gets the help she needs, just dont bring your passengers safety into the equation.

ZiBRA Counselling Solutions totally agree. The gate people should not have allowed her to board being late and out of uniform. And the FO should not have let her continue. No one handled the situation when a leader was not in the position to lead.
She should have been stood down earlier and not allowed to continue to make it worse.
