    Lutron Kaseeta has a new GEN three that came out about a month ago and we installed it throughout the house. The three-way switches still require a pico from GEN two. It was really cool getting our outdoor Water Fountain and Christmas tree all dialed in and on timers. The GEN three remembers the dim level now where it was at when you turned it off. I used Siri text to speech, and I see some of it was not spelled correctly.

    Good advice on secondary hubs. Yolink only work with a hub. They are only devices I found for a couple of outdoor and freezer monitoring situations is Yolink. Totally diff. than most but with hubs they work well with alexa and google. And their smart button fobs, gives me inexpensive reliable buttons for alexa routines. Was afraid of another hub, but they work so well where others did not and my lutron devices with a hub the same.

    I have the G2H pro and the G3 from Aqara and have had no problems with either until recently. Aprox. 11 months after first installing them the G3 has had a problem with staying online. After jumping all the loops for tech support I'm left with a camera that will not stay online and they dragged the emails out over a period of weeks to the end of warranty. Fortunately I have all the "child devices" on the G2H Pro for now. The problem with having 18 child devices dependent on a hub was a mistake in my opinion.

    Just putting it out there - Having 3 wifi repeaters from Netgear will not tripple the area that is covered by Wifi, because that is not how overlapping circles work, also, signal decay is still a thing and you can alway buy a more powerful router to increase the range - but power comsumption will increase exponentially by a power of 2 or more (again, because physics and geometry)

    I bought the Lutron smart switches but couldn’t use them. They require a neutral wire in the switch box. Most switch boxes have a two wire, power down, power up and a copper ground wire. You CANNOT use the power ground wire as your neutral. Building codes are changing to now run a three wire into the switch box to provide the neutral. If you are building keep that in mind.

    • @CraigsTechTalk
      @CraigsTechTalk  Год назад

      The Lutron switches need the neutral. I do like that the Lutron dimmers do not need a neutral. The have the two hot wires and a ground.

    • @CraigsTechTalk

      I am sorry to hear that you think that warrants a thumbs down. I understand you are excited for Matter, but I stand by those devices. Both the lights and lock were amazing devices for HomeKit devices, until no Matter support. That changes their upgrade path, but it does not change the performance of these devices. The lock works with all the assistants and is a great lock. The Nanoleaf lights are extremely fast and are great lights. I stand by both. I think it is important for people to know about the changes, that is why I mentioned them and go into Matter. But if someone finds either of the lock or lights on sale and knows what they are buying, they are. getting a great light.
      I am sorry, but Matter will not be some big change for the majority of people. You are talking habitat, zigbee and z wave. All the things the average consumer knows nothing about. Thanks for watching the video even though you gave it a thumbs down.
