Whales aren’t fish, Troy. I think the weird slide to the 4 at 1:45 is just a mistake in the recording. About the low C though: tuning down a whole step just to play one note is the ultimate Chad move.
Man, such a fantastic album, stuff like Crack the Skye is great too, but Leviathan will always hold a special place in my heart. Great work and tone as always!
Oh I don't quite remember but it sounds like I used a lot of distortion for this tone, starting with a lot of bass and treble for that deeper tone. I used DSP Parallax for this so I bet that a lot of the tone also came from that software
Thanks again :) I'd definitely say Martin Mendez from Opeth and Colin Edwin from Porcupine Tree. As for bands, probably... Pain of Salvation and Tool. all quite progressive i guess
@@LeoBassCovers2 I think Troy isn’t the best bassist out there but he does have singing duties so Ill give him a pass. we can see it from the sometimes weird note choice and sloppy playing on this song and others.
Yeah.. I find that 4th fret note at 1:45 a bit weird for example. But as a singer, I don't even want to think about playing bass whilst singing so I'd gladly give him a pass too.
Still their best album, songs like this and Leviathan are just too good!
They dont have a song called Leviathan
@@ForgedInValhalla you’re right! I actually meant Seabeast 🤘🏻
This song is always playing in Build-a-Bear whenever my daughter and I go.

Probably is a mistake yeah. And agreed haha, what on earth made them decided to play just one note in a drop tuning..

I know they play turned down a full step, but this song could really easily be played in drop D. Another great video man!!
Thank you!

Fuck yea! 🤘🏽
Would you have any interest in doing a lesson on Fair to Midland's "Musical Chairs"? The walking bassline in that is so good.
mastodons best song
