    Dude that heads shocking !!! WTF were those clowns doing.. obviously not professional engine builders with history and a good reputation ..
    There’s nothing wrong with posting content like this , it makes people aware of issues if people try to cut costs. Most will respect you more especially when you go into detail regarding measuring the stem height etc etc .
    I subscribed simply for this reason and because we have an S58 . Also there is very little information in circulation with this engine.
    It’s been very helpful and informative for myself and no doubt others too .
    Thankyou 👍🇬🇧

    Thinkin y’all nailed it, with the “window licker” assessment, but, think it’s multi-level, one for the guy doing the work, two, for the customer giving the nod to the absurdity of the work proposed.

      @@headgames well then, that adds another layer, for whoever is doing the work on the car / engine for the owner, and using that machinist or engine builder, and giving the go ahead on the head work…

    There are car owners that should just have a reputable professional shop that specializes in their platform. As a consumer you have to do you due diligence in researching these shops by checking reviews, asking the car community of your platform of the shop’s reputation and experience.

    The only reason I can figure a guy would pull after-market to go back to OEM is if the thought the after-market stuff was junk. Without it on hand, how can you be sure ?

    • @headgames
      @headgames  5 месяцев назад +1

      The same shop has done a few heads that have been coming through here and I know the spring kit they use is worse than stock. So I get wanting to remove it, but the valves are great and would have worked with the stock spring kit. Would have been a better alternative to removing seats with a screwdriver or chisel how they did.

      no cam caps cannot be used from one head to the next. The head needs to be line honed. Cam caps are married to the head.

    Hey Dave I saw your 2jzge vvti video vs 2jzte non vvti,so my ? Is it just as simple to swap heads from a toyota supra 2jzgte to a 2jzge and now you have a supra now for example from my is300 2jzge is that possible to take a 2jzgte head off a supra and will that give me in a sense now supra power or is there more involve! Love your videos I've done head work before on my 08 honda odyssey engine so I've pulled heads before and if that's possible I'm just curious, okay pls lmk thanks very much

    • @headgames
      @headgames  5 месяцев назад

      I don't think it is worth going from a GTE head to a GE head on a Supra. Unless it is an NA-T combo then the VVTI head is a perfect fit. I know they all bolt on but I am no swap expert on the rest of that deal. Thanks for watching !

If that means naturally aspirated then yes I have a 2002 lexus is300 2jzge bone stock engine so all I wanted to know is if the head from the supra will give me more power and is it as simple as swaping the heads had to figure out what NAT meant lol I'm a nooby!..Dave sorry just trying to know if I'll need to do more or if I can just again swap a head off a supra and slap it on an is300 stock 2jzge block if that's more clearer maybe I confused u sorry for my Grammer in putting this questions together..appreciate your time!!
