Jhope's isolation is insane. He's one of the best dancers in kpop (if not the best.) I get pressed when he's being compared to other idols with mediocre dance skills who can't freestyle.
@@lulululu2109 the isolation is when he moves only one part of his body in a specific way - so he's Isolating that part of his body (like a movement with just the chest or with just the shoulders). a lot of the popping movements he does with his upper body/chest may be considered isolations.
he is in total control of every inch of his body-and not only is he able to control it, but he's always thinking about it. when you watch him closely even in group dance practices or stage performances, you can see that he's always directing everything down to the motions of his hands, which is something I haven't seen in any other idol performer. his isolations are honestly the best in the industry. when it comes to street dancing, he's easily in league with the big dogs in the US. it's a fucking sin that he's so under-respected.

I've only seen isolation of this level from some of the best dancers in the WORLD, such as the Les Twins (in that iconic WOD 2014 performance) or legendary popping dancers like Korea's own Poppin' Hyunjoon. Aside from this particular video, his more recent dance practice video for the MMA 2018 IDOL INTRO is a great example of his insane isolation. Another amazing thing is how he's precisely controlling EVERY part of his body yet there's nothing tense abt his dancing. He makes it seem like he's barely even putting effort into these precise movements, this is the level of a master, honestly. I also salute him on his freestyling. I remember seeing a video a few years back (I don't even remember who said this), but it was an interview with a famous dancer (it might have been Keone Madrid & his friends lol) where the dancer said that he really respects dancers who can freestyle. He explained that even though he's a choreographer himself, it's different when you have the time to plan out a performance & choreography then master it. Freestyle dancers just have a natural talent. I remember thinking that freestyle dancers can accomplish instantly what choreographers take sometimes months to plan lol. Hobi might not be the best freestyler out there, but I can be very sure that other idols can't freestyle to his level at least. This sweetheart always lets others shine & stays low-key but I wish people outside the fandom can realise his incredible skills too.

Well no he is not choreographer. But he leads the dance line. Thier dance isn't choreographed by him but he is responsible for leading the members in dance. I think he can change the choreography a little bit

It's more so a combination of both modern and urban dance techniques. There are the expressive emotions throughout "Boy Meets Evil" that touches on modern dance, yet there are sharp meaningful beats in his rhythm that brings out that urban style of dance. I used to teach choreography (I don't anymore after ovarian cancer took me out physically, the treatments really took a toll on my already flexible joints so I can't do that anymore) and overall that is just my take away. It is possible to incorporate two dance styles into one and with the right person/people it is absolutely beautiful! :)

The characteristics of modern dance are missing, no pointed feet, full extensions, square shoulders, so that's why I say "urban." Urban is different from street or hip-hop dance. It has its roots there but is inspired by many other styles as well. Kinjaz, Dylan Mayoral, Keone and Mari, Quick Crew etc... (all choreographed for BTS) are all urban dancers.
I'm not of fan of his krumping and locking (probably because I'm spoiled by other dancers when it comes to thoses styles lmao) but J-Hope is a real popping king !

I was looking for a compilation of this. He's so incredible :D So hard-working and talented. After listening to the lyrics from MAMA it made me cry. How much his mom worked to support his dance, how his dad opposed and fought him to quit dance and now look at him :) I just really hope they could make him have more dance center like Mic Drop (HE OWNED THAT!). He's such a great dancer but always dancing in the back. I know JK is center but would like once in a while for Hobi to shine like he did in Mic Drop.
Jimin is not the only one who can do modern dance, he is the only one who specializes in that style of dance, because Jhope can do modern dance, and also Jungkook

I was looking for a compilation of this. He's so incredible :D So hard-working and talented. After listening to the lyrics from MAMA it made me cry. How much his mom worked to support his dance, how his dad opposed and fought him to quit dance and now look at him :) I just really hope they could make him have more dance center like Mic Drop (HE OWNED THAT!). He's such a great dancer but always dancing in the back. I know JK is center but would like once in a while for Hobi to shine like he did in Mic Drop.

Jimin is not the only one who can do modern dance, he is the only one who specializes in that style of dance, because Jhope can do modern dance, and also Jungkook

Because he is specializes in modern dance. I do think J-Hope and Jungkook can do modern dance, especially J-Hope but they are not as good as Jimin in this because Jimin is really specializes in modern dance while J-Hope is specialize in hip hop dance. He does modern dance only for song which implies modern dance like Spring Day. So I think they can do contemporary but it will not be as good or better than Jimin because this is not their specialization

We only have Spring day and Jimin is the only one that do well the contemporany part, the others try to do it but at least for me Jimin is the only one doing it correctly. JHope and Jungkook can't do modern dance, because they never study that style and BTS never do modern dance so they never had the oportunity to learn that style. That they learned a couple of steps for Spring Day doesn't mean that they can do contemporany.
