Hello I am a MLT student and micro and chemistry is a challenge for me my weakest areas as well due to it being a lot. The whole program is a lot and it is a lot to learn in a short period of time. I have been searching on how to study and the easiest way to learn and pass the ASCP exam. I do work in a lab but I don't get to see a lot everyday cause I am in a doctors office Media Lab I heard was a great study tool but I also seen where others was talking about the BOC , they studied that book and did not see not one question from that book on their test and wound up failing the test. So I am going to follow these steps cause I do have the 6th edition of the BOC along with the yellow and purple book. If I pass this test I will come back on this channel and say I passed this test due to this information that you gave me.
EVERYONE that I have encountered in the lab swear by the Clinical Review book. I just read it and I think it's a great way to grasp the content the areas quicker. Thank you for the confirmation!
I have watched your video multiple times, I want to say that I passed my ASCP MLS exam today. Your channel really helped me to prepare for my exam, especially the reference range as you said, I studied them. I had questions with no reference range on it, so it that helped me too.
I have gotten the blue and gold book a few days ago, finished my class and start my clinicals this upcoming Monday for 3 weeks. I really hope that book along with the BOC practice exam will help out as soon as I am done.

I tried by best to "memorize" the charts but I it was a lot of charts to remember. I would suggest you write the charts out. Yes it takes a bit of time but it helped me. Hi there I am looking to apply for ASCPi and I have gap of around 4 yrs and hence have very basic knowledge about MLS overall and also have lost most of my uni notes and materials. Will i be able to pass if i go through theriot harr boc and not going through course books as that will take long time.

I do not have the Harr book. I was basically lost in hem., I did not use my school books. I do strongly believe that if you follow the steps that I mentioned in the video that you will pass. :-)

I tried to give the big 4 a week each. But that did not happen I ended spending about 4 days out of the week instead of the complete 7. I really got serious 1 week before and focused heavy on the outline that I mentioned and the purple and gold book.

@@kookakooka1947 you're welcome! May, I feel you will do great. You have time study more than I did. I would suggest give enough time to the big 4 but also study over the smaller areas. I honestly found the Media lab to be more helpful because it gave me a reason for each answer. I also found Media Lab to be harder but I felt that helped me to study better too. ASCP practice exams did not give me a break down as in depth as the Media lab.
@@kookakooka1947 I found that many questions were derived from the Gold and Purple book, a few days before the exam I focused heavy on the elephants note and the remember this notes that were in the purple and gold book. I wrote out the elephants and the remember this notes from the gold and purple book that I did not know. I found that writing things out and saying it out loud helped me .
