I'm going to attempt CSMLS exam this month; however; i am dubious about some of the modules given in CSMLA competency profile like: Quality management, communication and interaction and professional prace. Are there any books available which would help me preparing for these modules. Thanks.

i will try to make a video about bridging program but i believe it is also explained in the csmsls website
how are CSMLS questions when compared to ASCP in terms of difficulty and the CSMLS practice question books are they worthy buying
i would say ascp had both theoretical and critical thinking questions. csmsls is more on application and critical thinking for me.
I suggest that you visit the csmls website to know more about the exam.
Do you know how can I get a CSMLS outside of Canada and get the discounts about the fee about pla process ? I already tried in the website but It asked for Canadian’s province. Thank you

I was just wondering about the work authorization. Do you have any idea if csmls directly contact our college or workplace back in our country for any authorization? Do they inquire with our lab or college back in our country. I did Bachelor in MLT and worked as a medical lab technologist. I would appreciate your answer. Thank you.

Hiiii I wanted to ask i had completed my bsc in biotechnology in 2018 and msc in industrial Microbiology in 2023 and i want to go to Canada. What courses should i choose and how Hard will this exam for me
i am not sure if MLT could be the right school for you. actually any school to get a student visa is ok if your goal is to legally enter Canada. But i suggest look for schools that are somehow related to your educational background. Each schools in canada have their own websites, its upto you now where do you want to enroll but make sure this school that you are aiming for is accepting international students.

clinical genetics is a different discipline to challenge in csmls

did you find any difficulty in the exams after preparing from these books? did you pass with above expectation marks?and do you think this time is enough for the 210 questions?
the scoring system is angoff method. i did find the exam difficult compared to other licensure exam i had.
if your score is beyond expectation mark you will passed the exam. i dont know my score because they will just tell you what is the passing score for your batch. hope this make sense?
Thanks. I have 1 question. I've planned to take CSMLT clinical genetics exam. Is it essential to study all five disciplines? If the ansewr is yes, is there any resource for genetics discipline?
im actually not much familiar with clinical genetics. i assumed it is a different discipline requirements or courses but you can check the csmls website for resources as they have recommendations there as well

I'm a Bachleors in medical laboratory technician from India, with 2 years of work experience in Histopathology. I'm worried about the courses they will recommend me to complete and secondly, where can complete those courses, do I have take admissions in college again, how much it can cost ?

each provinces have different institutions that offer courses for refresher or to fill in gaps. but for bridging program the only provinces that i am aware of that offers it are ontario and alberta

yes i only need to finish histo course and i can write the exam but i decided to join the bridging program offered at my workplace(employer)
the bridging program i had was under Mohawk College in Ontario.
we did online courses in Mohawk but the clinicals were done in winnipeg because that was where we were all resided and it is our employer in manitoba that provided that program for us..
If necessary what score should I get for MAM, IELTS or PTE PLA if necessary
for ielts score you can find it in the pla handbook page 20
Do you need to pass the board exam in your country to apply for the csmls exam? (Fresh Grad)
i dont think it is required though but it wont hurt to ask csmls. you can send them an email to inquire

you have to go through Prior Learning Assesment to know if you are eligible

My PLA report only adviced me to take histology course and i can write the exam but I decided to go for bridging school for a year. which was a good decision because i was able to pass the exam when i took it in October 2017

I have started to prepare for CSMLS exam. I have already started PLA assessment. I applied for General Medical laboratory technologist category. So to my knowledge the competencies for these are safe work practices, Data and specimen collection and Handling, Analytical processes, Interpretation and reporting of results, quality management, Critical Thinking, Communication and interaction, professional practice. Correct me if I am wrong.. so my question is for the above competencies should I review the books that you mentioned?? Or are these books for another category exam like diagnostic cytology?? Please enlighten me? Please give me a reply. Thank you
the review materials in this video were the books I used when I reviewed for the exam.. i just shared this but it will still be up to you if you want to use the same materials. I took the General MLT Exam

You have to do the PLA first to know your eligibility for the exam
Hi I've done Master of Science in Microbiology. My simple question is can i work as MLT with this study . Is it accepted study to sit in exam ?
i think the prior learning assessment will let you know if you can write the exam you have to apply for it first.

question my daughter is finishing her mlt degree at UB in Baguio. She will be coming to Canada as a American citizen(shes dual Fil/US) should she take her board here in the Philippines first or just go to Canada and prep for their exams. what are your thoughts?
if she is not going to practice in the Philippines and will be going to Canada soon then no need to take the Philippine MLT boards
in your opinion do you think she will need to take any courses in Ontario prior to taking the tests there?

@@mabiandrupert thanks for replying. I decided not to do it due to financial constraints. I just bought some of the review materials you mentioned. With prayers and persistence I hope to pass the test this coming February.
@@tanyac1039 yes I did. Everything online. It was tough because I have to work at the same time. It took me 2 years to complete my PLA.

But i decided to do the bridging school instead to refresh my knowledge and it just so happened that my employer before offers a bridging program for international mlts like me. i was lucky to get in that program.
