Why is it “a little strange”?
I didn’t think there was anything strange about it and note how the horse responded to her tone and her words…..
I've seen a lot of your videos. Noticed that the horses are tolerant with kids even when they touch them. I guess it's the energy the kids emit.
Was just curious has anyone ever offered the guards a bottle of water on very hot days so they don't faint and offered if they could give the horses water so they don't get dehydrated being in the heat ?
The shifts are 1 hour only so there really is no need to worry.
Not strange at all. She seems to talk in a very calm voice and she also kept her distance . Horses sense that .I am just curious what she actually said to the horse .
This woman showed utter respect towards the horse without crowding or touching him. She kept out of his space speaking with a quiet and kind voice. This is how they should be treated. The horse was actually trying to get nearer to her. If you give horses a bit of time to eye you up and let them decided whether they want to be near you, most of them will freely come to be stroked. Bravo you sweet lady ❤👏
It was almost if he was listening to her without words, you don't usually see the horse's lower their heads to quite that level for so long!

She was telling him he was a beautiful boy notice how when she walked up to him he moved towards her and when she was speaking to him he lowered his head to hear her words ❤
She walked over quietly and spoke and moved slowly so the horse was calm and listening. It looked like it wanted to hug her
It’s nice to see a lot of people in this clip were happy to just stand by the horse without all the touchy touchy.
It looks like the tourists are learning to stand where they should be and not getting to close. Wonderful to see.

That lady has away with horses without having to put a hand in them. Why the hell do parents push their kids to stand or go near the horses if they obviously are scared oh that’s right gotta get that holiday snap.
Because they have no common sense, nor respect for the Guardsman nor the Horse.
I have been a tourist myself in the UK and found the people who have to have their photo taken with a subject are Americans. I'm not being racist or whatever you want to call it, its their way of doing things. In this case it can be disturbing for the horse. There are notices there but I don't think they get read.

If you notice, as that lady is talking gently to the horse, he/she lowers his/her head ... A dropped head is a sign the horse is relaxed and feeling good.
Can't believe the way the parents push there kids towards the horses when they don't want to a little scared and the ones that pose on one side then the other side of the horse taken picture after picture I feel so sorry for the Guards and horses with what they have to put up with once again thankyou for your service 🇨🇦👏

Horses are excellent BS detectors. She respected him, stayed outside his space, spoke softly and gently to him. And he responded, looked like he wanted to get closer. An island in the middle of the tourist storm. Thank you, dear lady. 💕

This is one of those very special people who can connect with animals the way most folk connect with humans. Blessings to her. The horse seemed to connect with her as well, what a wonderful moment !!

Lots if people come straight to the horses head,where they can't see them! This lady came to the side where the horse could see her. Lowering his head was showing that he was fine with her!!.no doubt he would have loved her to touch him!
Horses are very smart. They know when they can trust someone. They react better when spoken in soft tones.
Beautiful well mannered intelligent horses. I hope they get lots of spoiling and pampering at the end of their long days putting up with silly human strangers.

I'm thinking that it has something to do with the guide you can hear her explain the role the horsemen play in the King's army and the meaning of the color of uniforms they wear. .. It is about time, and if that is not why then it needs to happen otherwise it means the well being of the horses and riders means more to commenters than the King.. either way props to the crowd for listening to what they are told or having common sense .. Its nice to see some do
Dont like parents would stop pushing their kids to be close to horse they need to realize kids may be scared and horse might not be comfortable either .respect the horse ,guard and your kids

She showed the horse and guard utter respect. Which is how kit should be.

She may well be an animal communicator, so she can talk to the horse and he can answer her back. I've experienced this a lot with my own and with friend's horses. We use animal communicators often. She does not have to touch him at all.

No because the horses are rotated “spelled” but they will obviously come in contact with all the guards at some point

No parent should push a child beyond their boundaries. No doubt this mother will be head of PTA and demanding answers why their kids didn’t get A *s and insisting on retakes.
Please Leave The Horses Alone. They are doing their Job. They should not have to put up with Harrassment. Love the Kings Guard and the Kings Horses deserve Respect.x

Once one person touches the horse, everyone crowds the horse to touch and put their head on the horse, then grab the tack equipment.
What would be cool is if you narrate some of the most important parts of your videos, tell us what going on and what you see it would even cooler if you got an interview a guard have tell you how hard this job is to please don't show fear horse are not stupid their can pick up on that! With each pasting year more and more stupid people will come to see the guard and more and more people will stress the horse and the guard with more bites! The guard needs a way to put a stop to this you could be the key! Just an idea!

It is so hard watching people being so horrible around horses and guards. I can't imagine how you train the horses. Have taken care of many and my favourite was unsocialised. I miss Thumper xx

Why are people allowed to use these guards and horses as props?
Tradition. The Regiment was formed in 1660. Some of the uniform dates back to that era.
They have maintained a ceremonial guard here ever since.
Horseguards is the Regimental HQ of the Household Cavalry and HQ of the British Army, hence the Ministry of Defence Armed Police
... I think she raised that horse when it was a foal ... the horse knew her ... her smell ... her voice ... horses have amazing memories ...

There was nothing to miss. People who view horses with anthropomorphic view are blowing it all out of proportion. Ive owned horses for 40 years and the exchange was blown out of proportion.
How long do the horses have to sit tight and stand still! 5 or 6 hours? Why don't you rider stand there for 6 hours without moving for a change?

Nothing exceptional, interesting or unusual, this lady spoke to the horse but there was no unusual connection.
So why did the horse move towards her when she was gently approaching him then it's how you connect with Animals they know

This is so upsetting - the poor horse has to put up with all these people milling around, sending children to stand next to him, the constant chatter -- So, so stressful! Awful!
Its not a facility that should be provided here , live animals for photos,horse petting not to mention what the guards put u p with put llines down and kee people behind them. It is unbelievable the crowds in the spaceof both guard and horse cruel too.
The horse was clearly hot and dehydrated.
Considering they are offered water every quarter hour I very much doubt dehydrated.
