    Is there a reason besides priming that you added the hose fitting to your system? Also I have a V1 Aqua link that has the 2 wire LED pool lights which are the old Zodiac Jandy JLUC10-50 Color LED Nicheless Light 10W Max 12V which have filled with water. Do you know a good source for replacement lights ?

    My basket is filled with water, strainer is all clean got a pent air sand filter.
    Turn on pump and water starts flowing down through strainer but no water going back into pool so the water gets sucked down into strainer to the point it collects air I guess and I never get water going back into pool.
    Do I need to take off filter head and replace sand?
    This is the first I have run into this problem after dealing with same filter and pool for years now.

    What if my sand pump system does not have a tap on the drain pipe near the primer basket. Do I just leave the hose in the primer basket and let the water drain into the pool as it fills up?

  • @tesla_3_performance
    @tesla_3_performance 2 года назад +3

    My hayward pump will hold air in that basket area, but usually after a few days it completely fills with water. I've tried to use the bleeder on the filter but it only removes air from the filter and not the pump. The pump has 2 bleeder valves on it as well but they don't seem to do anything for the air either. The system was installed a month ago so its new and I haven't seen any leaks anywhere. Is this something I should do to help avoid the air pocket that forms? Only curious because I notice a decrease in pressure sometimes.

    That is SOME system. Wow. I couldn't get my pump to prime which brought me here.. my pump basket lid doesn't even have a gasket so I guess that's where I should start. Also, when you're filling up the pump basket, should the water go down immediately as soon as you move the hose? Seemed worrisome to me. Gonna grab a gasket and go from there. Thanks!

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  3 года назад +1

      It is common for the water to start to empty as soon as you pull the hose out. If you let the water run for a minute or so, the lines should have enough water to help the pump catch prime.

    Quick question. I ran my water hose to that pump and it doesn't fill up it just continues to add water. Do I need to turn the bleeder valve to make this work??

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  3 года назад +2

      The pump may not fill to the top with water. Let it run for a minute or so, then put the lid on, and start the pump. The bleeder valve should be open until you turn the pump on and water starts to spray out of it. Then you can close it.

      Unfortunately, the SP1610C impeller was discontinued by Hayward. If you have the Hayward Super Pump, there is an upgrade kit. The part number is 5110-53. www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352011066.htm

    Hi guys. Not related to this video but I am wanting to know what evaporation rates to expect in our area. I am in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Hot tropical Island environment. During October the average Temperature is 29 Deg C / 18 Deg C and humidity average of 88%. In a smallish pool with a depth average of 1.2m and exposed surface area of 48m2 what would your estimated daily evaporating rates be? I am trying to determin if a pool has aleak or if the water loss is evaporation. Loss amounts to approx 3/8 to 1/2" a day (10 -12mm) but that seems high to me with 88% humidity. Please note the water does not get hot. It always feels substantially colder than the ambient temperature. Any advice appreciated. love your videos.

    Is the water via hose necessary? Seems like my pump pushes air out through the return lines and fills up by itself. No air.

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  3 года назад +2

      It is not always necessary. Most pumps will prime themselves even if you have opened up the pump or filter and the pressure was released. This would be for cases where you start the pump but it doesn't have enough water in the lines to catch a prime.

    I have a variable speed pump and run it for 8 hours a day at 60% and it has never fully filled up all the way, should it? When I run it at 100% it does fully fill up. Water level is good and all baskets are clean

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  2 месяца назад +1

      On lower speeds, the pump strainer may not fill all the way up most of the time. That's normal. The fact that your strainer does fill when you go to 100% power tells me your system is running as it should. 👍

    Is it normal for some water to come up from the lid on pump ?

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  2 года назад +1

      Water should be up to the top of the lid when the pump is running but not coming out. Sometimes water will shoot out off the pump lid when the pump shuts off. A new pump lid o-ring usually fixes that.

    • @Inyopools

      Do you have an above ground pool? If so, that would explain why water would pour out when you remove the lid. There should be shut off valves that you can close so water can't flow to the pump while you are working on it.The air valve would be on the filter. You might not have one if it is a sand filter.
