Love ❤️ love ❤️ love ❤️ this. I love seeing how consistent you’ve been, I really love the format of your journal (ink and grids, repeat!), especially love your self portraits, and I also love that you’ve shared this whole book. Thank you 🤗
Thanks so much, Pam! It was hard to share the first one first, so I really appreciate this. I am looking forward to looking at #2. It's hard to realize it's been 2 years though! I hope you've continued with your beautiful illustrated journal process.
@@creativitymatterspodcast I’m so glad you braved it and did share. Such an inspiration - much more so when being able to see the long haul continuity, you know? My snippets journal is less a daily thing just now, sadly, thanks for asking, I AM doing at least a layer if not a full spread every day in my art journal though, mostly acrylics, and mostly playing with backgrounds. (But I am still doing my ‘doodle-a-day’ watercolors. 🤗)
Oh Amy, this book is such a piece of art! I so admire this style & idea of keeping an illustrated journal. Thank you for sharing the whole thing here! 🧡💜💛❤💖
Fun and interesting to watch. I have been trying to plan a Jan 1 start to a new personal creative word/art journal, and yours is such an inspiring model. Do you draw you self portals from photographs, or in front of a mirror?
Thank you! I hope your new year, new journal, and new word have all gotten off to a great start! I snap selfies on my phone each week and pick one to draw. Lots of people do it from mirrors though.
Wow! Love your style!! Maybe one day you go back and colourize?! The self portraits are intense... you're really capturing reality, aren't you? I don't know anything about your channel, it just popped up as a RUclips suggestion, but I'll go and look... Wondering if you've done a tutorial on how you do a self-portrait... do you use a mirror or maybe take a picture on your phone and then refer to it? I just love the busy full pages that you're achieving, and I've always thought of doing something like this but I have not figured out how I want to lay it out. You seem to have figured it out for yourself and it's fabulous! I'm inspired! I haven't touched my art supplies in a serious way, for maybe 18 years. I'm all talk and I just watched videos of other people who are creating, but this is the year I won a scholarship to Tamara Laporte's Life Book course this year and I'm just gearing up to face a blank page... but first I have to create the perfect "Work Space"... and perfectionism is really paralyzing me... that's why I like the idea of the busy Journal, because to me you're just breaking "rules" right from the start by being so random! ( but your Randomness makes such sense when it's completed..) That's the thing... you are completing what you set out to do, which is super impressive!!
I hope you are enjoying the Life Book course you won. Congratulations! I think it's important in your journal to do what makes you happy and comfortable - and what gets down details that have meaning for you. Enjoy!

Thanks so much, Hanna! This flip is several years old now, but I've continued this format with my #illustrateyourweek project. Thanks for commenting!
Thank you for sharing!
Your sketchbook is splendid, organic and authentic. Well done and thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much, Sharon! I really appreciate that.

Amazing journal. I am in awe of you! And love your fingerless mittens.
The rainbowy-est of mitts. Thank you!
I LOVE the gloves an how you lay out your notebooks. The details and sketches are excellent.
Thank you, Sonya! I love fingerless mitts and arm warmers, so thank you for that and for the kind words about the journal itself!
@@creativitymatterspodcast it is my pleasure! I love those warmers and gloves and your talent blows me away!
It's such a unique journey ❤
Thank you.
