Well sadly this is the end of our "Spotlight" on the Stones... But we will keep up the weekly videos as long we have requests/suggestions to do... so if you have any ideas, leave them here. Thank you again for watching guys! This month has been awesome. Been so awesome to do all these Stones picks these month.
Have you seen their new video for Angry? Cool visuals and a lot of Sydney Sweeney. Under My Thumb. I don't hear melancholy. I hear misogyny. "The girl who once had me down." "The time has come. She's under my thumb. The way she talks when she's spoken to. She's under my thmb. Ain't that the truth, now, honey?"
@@L33ReactsWhen Jagger was a kid his dad had a TV show about fitness, and young Michael would be demonstrating calisthenics, basketball, setting up a tent, etc. His dad lived to about 95.
1.5 million people at that concert in Brasil. Great reaction. Brian Jones's marimba in the studio version of Under My Thumb is also not to be missed. 🤘🏻
I think it’s funny that Mick Jagger once said something about how it would be pathetic to be 65 and still singing “Satisfaction” But in reality, it really isn’t so pathetic, they just kept on smashing it.
Back in the mid/late 1990s, a work colleague admitted he had tickets to see the Stones live, and kind of apologised because he thought they were way past their prime. Even more stupidly, I told him he ought to go because at their age, they probably wouldn't be able to tour much longer and it could be their last. Damn, did they prove us both wrong!
Satisfaction is the song that introduced the Stones to me, and the riff still grabs me. An original punk tune? Or just great rock? Either way, I still love it. ✌️❤️🎶
Of course bro! Thank you for watching. The stones kick off the weekend better than any band! And steely Dan to come down from the weekend…. It’s perfect lol
Perfect picks for the finale, say it ain't so!! Thanks Scott, Gail and Lee. I always liked "Mother's Little Helper" but there's not much to the instrumentals, sadly. I have so enjoyed the spotlight on such a great band. Unbelievable! Blessings all. Rock on!
Over 1,500,000 people - think about that. Dylan joined them at this show on the beach to perform Like a Rolling Stone which the Stones had been playing live off and on for a number of years.
Is provocative the word Lee? The Stones came out in 63 I believe. The great part of modern Live Stones performances is the nostalgia factor combined with the fact that they've virtually perfected what they do after all these decades 👍
Thanks, Scotty! I love it! The close up antics! Mick kicking into the camera! The gyrating😀 It’s wonderful. Thanks, Gail, for the thrilling concert! What a crowd! Ever since I was a kid I scorned the Stones because they weren’t the Beatles. Being exposed to them here, I’m fond of them now! And I love many of their songs. They’re The Rolling Stones! It’s Mick! 😅 Thanks, Lee L33Reacts! Under My Thumb is a nice performance. It’s got shades of Gimme Shelter in it!
This is the one band that is on my bucket list that I never got to see, I think I would drag my balls over forty miles of busted Budweiser bottles to be able to see them!
Now you can listen to that DEVO cover of Satisfaction. The longevity of the Stones is incredible. I remember my sister having their first US released album, listening to it on her record player, and thinking how strange those guys from England looked. 😂
A local band did a cover of UNDER MY THUMB , and in my biased opinion did a really good job , Available on their follow up album UNDER HEAVEN OVER HELL the band produced , what many believe is their best song . Personally I think the song HOLLYWOOD , on the same album , and ACTION , on their debut album MEAN WHILE BACK IN PARIS , are marginally superior. Do a 🇨🇦 guy from Winterpeg a favor , and give it a listen .
2006 the boys were all in their 60’s… played the Superbowl half time show then on to Brazil to play for a million plus people… unbelievable. They are absolutely unstoppable.
I'm glad now after hearing on your own that you can see why people will say the Rolling Stones are right up there with the Beatles in the British Invasion❤ and beyond!!!
Hi ,Lee I am not entirely sure but if memory serves, the Stones played live to over 1.5 million in Rio and to this day the largest live audience ever in world history! The Stones rock!
I saw them in Memphis on the fourth of July 1975 in a stadium with 75000. Tickets were $15 and we got to see Charlie Daniels, the Meters, J. Geils and more before the Stones came on the stage. Those were the days!
I saw them in '06 in Vancouver BC. Mick moved like that throughout the whole show. Amazing. The opening act was Bonnie Raitt. She's a wicked blues singer and slide guitarist. If you're not familiar with her, you've got a treat coming.
There is a documentry about this concert and it addressed the technical many issues involed in a concert of this size. Especially syncing the sound from the stage to the people waaaay down the beach. I believe it was shown on PBS. Probably on the internet somewhere.
Under my thumb one of my favs by the stones! A Canadian Band, Streetheart does a cover with some great bass and guitar, read some where that Mick Jagger liked it, there's a live version out there somewhere.
Definitely sounded like a Keith lead to me on Under My Thumb. Not nearly as clean as a typical Mick Taylor run. That live version of Satisfaction might be the best one I’ve ever heard - totally awesome 🤘
When Microsoft launched Windows 95, they used excerpts of this song in their TV marketing. Not the "you make a dead man cum" part, obviously, but that's when Microsoft introduced the "Start" button, if I remember correctly.
I honestly didn't like the Rolling Stones as much as the Beatles, CSNY, CCR or Three Dog Night. However the older i get the better I like them. Odd but true. I never used to pay attention to the lyrics. Sympathy for the Devil, for example.
you missed the connection...feeding goats....rolling stones.......goats head soup....??? Sorry, my brain makes unusual connections sometimes....lol keep on...
As a guitarist Keith may not be as good as Taylor or Wood. Maybe. But as a musician who plays guitar he is far superior. It was made clear in the late 80 that the Stones sound came from Keith.

Charlie once described Jaggers as Peter Pan running around the stage. 😂😂😂 Also, said he was one of the greatest front man ever!❤️

Copa Beach Brazil had 1 million and a half people there. You need to watch the whole concert nothing like it ever
This was CONSTANTLY played and was #1 the entire summer of 1965! It became their signature song!❤
1.5 million people at that concert in Brasil. Great reaction. Brian Jones's marimba in the studio version of Under My Thumb is also not to be missed. 🤘🏻
the rolling bones keep on rollin.....❣💋🎶🎸🎵
I used to rock out to Under My Thumb from 'Got Live If You Want It!' back in the day,
I think it’s funny that Mick Jagger once said something about how it would be pathetic to be 65 and still singing “Satisfaction” But in reality, it really isn’t so pathetic, they just kept on smashing it.
He first said he didn’t want to be doing “Satisfaction” when he’s 40!
He's amazing at any age👍

Charlie and Bill confirmed the old adage that most bands consist of a drummer, a bassist and two show-off’s (or three in the case of the Stones).
Saw Stones for my 50th birthday. DID NOT disappoint!! Jagger is 82!!! Still Rockin' ❤❤❤❤❤
Love to see crowd reactions!
Me too! I love seeing it

Mick and Keith have been corrupting the youth since the 60s. You can't deny the talent they have!
Yes they have lol I love it
Yes, they have the balls to do just about anything !
I like how they come in and out of the frame
It's nice to see them on (Promo) video. Some of their promo videos were (are) better than others. I've seen most of them.
Over 1,500,000 people - think about that. Dylan joined them at this show on the beach to perform Like a Rolling Stone which the Stones had been playing live off and on for a number of years.
Keith said the riff in Satisfaction came to him in his sleep. He grabbed a tape recorder, put it down and went back to sleep.
That’s a helluva dream to have haha
That's crazy bro!!!❤

I think Bono said Bill and Charlie were like the parents with the naughty children/adolescents messing about in front of them
He did and it's so true.
DEVO does the best version of this song. It's the best song they do. It is on the soundtrack for the movie "Casino".
Under My Thumb is one of my favorites from the Stones, but the studio version is the best.
Now you can listen to that DEVO cover of Satisfaction.

Tom Petty recorded a cool response to Under My Thumb in 1999. It is called Free Girl Now. You should give it a try

Hmmm... Under My Thumb was not on the Get Your Ya-Ya's out album. Source? Possibly the Altamont concert from the "Gimme Shelter" movie?
It’s on there if you look it up on RUclips. It’s from the MSG show in 1969. Maybe a cd reissue included it?
