I love this man so much. I saved family heirloom greasy bean seeds that's been on our family for over 300 years. My great aunt 78 years old had some old seeds that were over 10 years old. I got 8 seeds out of 1500 to pop. Because of this man's video I have replenished the family seeds. This morning I harvested 7.5 gallons of greasy beans. .I so wish he was still alive to send him my love and appreciation. This is a dying art, 3 major corporations that control all our food. Our society has become lazy and dumbed down. I will pass down the art of gardening and canning. Many blessings

Nice looking Rattlesnake pole beans there Mr. Charles. I let mine go a little to long this first picking due to constant rain. They will need stringing and the pods have plump beans in them. I will pick them this evening, I will snap and string them and cook me up a mess tonight. Thanks for the video.
Washing the jars doesn't have anything to do with them sealing and staying sealed. When canning I find that if I don't wash the jars, after some time a light film of mold will begin growing especially in the threaded portion at the top. And although, it isn't harmful, it certainly is un-sightly. OAG
My grandfather grew huge gardens every year, around 2 acres of just gardens. If we wanted to ride papaws 4wheeler, we had to go pick peas & bring them back to the house. Then we sat down with our 5 gallon buckets & shelled them. I remember my fingers would be purple & I probably ate more than I shelled. But after we got them all to the sink for mamaw to wash, we got a tank of gas & got to ride in the woods all day! 😊 sweet memories.
You make me wanna get a garden going and start growing my own food. I just love it…even with buying organic, you miss out on the taste of fresh picked is like. Hard work but worth it.

Great video for beginners, but I have never heard of washing the jars before storing them because of mold. I have never had that happen. I have been canning for about 8 or 9 years now and have never had mold grow on the outside. Washing them before storing them would make me nervous that you could break the seal. They should be stored with the ring off and DO NOT stack one on top of the other. If you need to stack them, the safe way to do so is to stack them in the box the empty jars came in. One full box on top of another.
